boy you are one of the only people out there pointing out that the pause and rth buttons have been combined. It's been like that with the mini for like 6 months! how do these people not know that? I keep reading it as a complaint as well as a concern for no reason haha. oh well
Hi, I will like the Mavic Air 2 to have Waypoints 2.0 or any type of flight planning since that is an old essential tool all dji drones usually have . I don’t see it in the new fly app but hopefully they’ll add it on a future firmware update 🙏🏻, thank you for this great video ✌️😎👍
Another question that I've seen is regarding ACTUAL flight time vs ADVERTISED Flight time (34 mins for MA2). We all know that your flight time will vary significantly depending on how you fly the quad and you are never going to be able to get the advertised flight time by the vendor but I think a hover test does provide an interesting benchmark measurement for flight time. I've seen a number of MA2 "hover test" videos and all of them have yielded 28 to 29 mins of flight time when landing the MA2 at 9% battery life. At that battery drain rates in those videos I calculated that you would get 30 to 31 mins (maybe 32 mins) of flight time in hover mode if the battery would have drained down to 0% (of course you would never want to do that).
Related to that it seems that on the MA2 you can't currently set the battery warning threshold for either the 1st battery warning or the 2nd auto-land threshold. Currently the thresholds are fixed at 15% and 10%. So once your battery level reaches 10% it's going to try to land...even if you are over water...yikes. I'm assuming you might be able to force the MA2 to stay in the air a bit longer (in an emergency situation ) even when it goes into auto-land by pushing up on the throttle stick but how much longer I don't know. Maybe you or other readers can confirm that. Dustin Dunhill's range test video for the Mavic Mini that he was able to fly the Mini for a considerable distance even after Mini had gone into autoland by holding the throttle stick up.

Nice video....Lots of good info. WRT to Litchi Waypoint support question...it's probably worth stating that DJI does NOT currently support DJI's Waypoint 2.0 on the Mavic Air 2 (or Mavic Mini)....whereas Waypoint 2.0 IS supported on the Mavic Pro 2. When I asked DJI about their plans to support Waypoint 2.0 they wouldn't commit to it but that's typical as most vendors won't commit to future features unless their release is imminent (e.g., smart controller support for Mavic Air 2). It's also worth noting for Mavic Mini owners that the SDK needed to support Litchi's Waypoint app will first be available on the Mavic Mini (mid-2020) and then later released on the Mavic Air 2. Once Litchi gets the needed SDK they'll then have to port over their Waypoint app. Litchi couldn't say how long that port will take until they actually get the SDK and evaluate it. But the bottom line (assuming all the info is correct) is that it looks likely that the Mavic Mini and Mavic Air 2 will at minimum get Litchi support in the future. YEA!!! And I'd have to assume that DJI would also support their on Waypoint functionality on both the Mini and the Mavic Air 2.

Will the single IMU be a problem? I fly my mavic 2 pro very confidently. Once I flew it 3 km+ away and lost connection due to strong magnetic interference. The drone returned on its own and landed. When I checked, one of the imu was messed up but the 2nd one was fine.
So with a single IMU does it not make the drone prone to flyaways like the mini and spark?

Hey so I recently got the mavic air 2 and whenever I create an 8k hyperlapse it creates a 1080p video and the dnj files are only 4000x3000 pixels. Where is the 8k resolution??
How to much can it lift compared to MPro?

The goggles are not compatible with the air 2. Maybe in the future with some updates but for right now they don’t work.

Jukour - you would need to cancel your order and buy the fly more combo. It’s not an “upgrade”, it’s a whole different kit. You would go to the end of the line of wherever you ordered.

Amazon is definately not the fastest when it comes to pre ordered products, Bestbuy delivers it on release day which is super awesome.

Can you use 2 controllers to operate flight and camera independently?
I would not get my hopes up for that fuctionality on this one right away, unless the SDK allows that when it is released, and app developers get busy.
Check out @Freefly for that sort of stuff if you have the budget. If not then you'll have to go DIY, which you can do for fairly cheap, compared to $10k+ pro systems that accommodate a pilot, spotter, and DP or DAP.
DM if you want to talk to some folks, or want a starting point on the DIY route.
This unit is a very very good start, no matter where you are headed in the future.

What does sport mode do?
From what little testing I was able to do today it makes the drone more responsive/sensitive to controls as well as increases speed. This is my first real drone so I am not used to it yet and had to switch to tripod mode because even normal mode was too sensitive for me. Need more time at the sticks.
Wouldn’t you get copyright strike by using footage is not yours..?
Will flyaways be much more likely with just 1 compass and 1 imu???? Same issue on spark

It is variable and can be slowed by the amount of input. Takes practice. It could be faster tho..
It's past 2 weeks already why is the smart control not compatible. Many of us have SC sitting in a box. Maybe we need to do a
