    Chy I can understand what you’re trying to say about the whole “narrative to emasculate black men” however you really don’t know how to strongly support your argument. Winter is giving you valid examples, reasons, and points and you have no response… It comes off like you have a deeper issue with Black Men being gay than you’re saying and that’s okay but say it with your CHEST. I personally don’t understand why it’s such a big deal when there is STILL a large representation of Black people in general that’s vastly coming to the forefront, and the fact that historically Black Men despise/hate gay men, it sends people into an uproar but sugarcoating it with “they’re trying to spin this narrative.” ITS REPRESENTATION. being a black gay man myself, I can say companies are doing too much to show how “woke” they are, but at the same time watching people’s ugly reactions to it supports the point of why it’s needed. Period.

    There has always been a stigma that black men can't be gay, especially if they're masculine. If you notice the media shining a light on gay masculine black men, it's because they exist and deserve the representation. I love you Chy, so this isn't shade. But I feel like you're just projecting since you made it clear that you're not attracted to feminine or queer men. Love y'all's pod btw. But I think Shy should ask herself why she’s not okay with multiple black men being gay on screen. Straight people have always taken up television. The world is evolving. If your not apart of the community (lgbtq+) and your not a black man what problem could you possibly have? The real narrative that’s being pushed is for people to be them selves, but then you guys turn around and say everyone wants to be a woman. No, the world is just filled with more feminine energy then you thought and it seems like you guys don’t like it. I love you guys pod but this conversation seems like you guys want things to go back to the way they were. Men hiding who they are and exuding masculinity to appease women. At least that’s what I took away from the conversation.

      "Trying" to get pregnant is tracking ovulation and having sex unprotected during ovulation etc. Not taking precautions isn't trying to get pregnant it's just not preventing it either. So if it happens it happens if it doesn't it doesn't...ppl who are trying don't have that mind set because they are actively TRYING

    • @VinnyTheMan2
      @VinnyTheMan2 8 месяцев назад

      @@britthall75If you don’t take precautions while having unprotected sex there’s a high risk to get pregnant. It’s reckless to do in a brand new relationship. She’s stated that she’s had abortions before… which I have no problem with. However it’s not a natural form of contraceptive and may lead to low probabilities of actually getting pregnant when she’s actually ready too. Winter verbatim said “I’m not trying.”
      For example, if girl doesn’t want a STD but constantly having unprotected sex with randoms, you are inadvertently asking for it. No she wasn’t trying to get an STD but when you have unprotected sex there is a certain responsibility you have to have. That’s all i’m saying. I’m just trying to look out for the girl. 🤷🏽‍♂️

    Chy, I love watching you give your thoughts every week and I’m so grateful your friendship with Winter has brought you on my radar. Following your insta and seeing your personality on the pod I KNOW that you always mean well. With that being said lol… as a black gay man from a rural-ish area growing up I haven’t had many places to look to for representation honestly. Not in real life at all and most of the movies, shows, and media that was shown of gay people had them being white. And even in those stories, most of them didn’t even have a happy ending (Milk) or they died (Brokeback Mountain) or were side characters (Mean Girls)… Not seeing yourself in media is sooo damaging. And like Winter said, it can lead black men to feeling like they can’t come out and like being down low is their only option. And I feel like that closeted mindset just sets us back as a (black) community. There have ALWAYS been gay black people. It’s one thing to know it in a *sense* and to theorize how many of them can be in sports or what have you but it’s another thing to see it. I personally think it’s a good thing for it to be normalized… it gives the younger folk a shot to see people like them or even not like them and it not outcast anyone, but include. People gon’ be gay regardless. The media can *push* the agenda about masculine/feminine/gay/straight/trans people all they want but that doesn’t change anything about who people are inside. I’ve seen almost nothing but straight relationships in real life and in media and I STILL turned out gay as hell lmao. I say all this with the utmost love and respect.. just wanted to give you some thoughts from someone who is gay AND black and has had a hard time finding where I belong in the world and wish that some of the stories about gay black men would have been around 10-15 years ago when I needed to see me in someone on screen.

    I’m gonna have to disagree with you chy, I think winter is right by this being a positive thing, maybe by your experience, the things that you watched tend to have more gay black men but I do think that this is a positive thing I feel like we have enough representation of very masculine, black men and no one has ever said anything about that. I really do think the black community even with my own and the Hispanic community really struggle with hyper masculinity in a negative way. I think this is something that other ethnicities need to do as well, but I think it’s a really good thing for the black community, and I hope it inspires other men to be comfortable, regardless of how they choose to live their life and it opens up masculine men to the idea that it’s okay to be gay or feminine.

    why does a gay man ruffle feathers, I’m a huge fan, but when you guys do talk about the gay topic, you guys do seem very bothered 😮😮 everyone has an opinion and honestly, I feel like if there was a button for there to be no gays you guys would click it a lot of people would, and my fingers because of what guys everything boils down to men at the end of the day

    Long time viewer first time commenter 😭😭 Chy its fine to have your opinion on the gay subject but stand on it & don’t contradict yourself bc in one breath you say being gay doesn’t take away from your masculinity but in the next breath you say masculinity is being lost in this world with them showing gay black characters. What about this big strong manly masculine man made him seem less masculine to you? Him engaging in gay acts? You see how that doesn’t match up bc in your eyes it seems like a man can be super hyper masculine but being gay or getting a little sloppy top from some twink makes him less masculine. Would that not be a good representation for what you want to see more of, showing that in order to be gay you don’t have to change your whole personality to be like a sassy fem, you can still be a manly strong guy but it just so happens u like some gay booty or dick. Just sharing some thoughts, love the podcast & thank you two for entertaining us every week 🩷🤍

    I am so happy Wintrr made it clear to Chy that there needs to be more representation for African American gay actors/actresses on television. I believe Chy might just have a problem with seeing Gay black men, and she's uncomfortable with it, and I think this is sometimes where the animosity come from with black gay men towards some black women, its like there's just blatant ignorance wrapped in internal judgement that's not being owned. I also find it funny when a double minority group (African American & Gay) is finally making moves, and being represented and finally getting the recognition they deserve, its suddenly "Pushed onto the public" that's truly a copout, especially when there are so many tv shows and movies representing gay asians, gay Caucasians, etc. But its always when its finally time to normalise Black gay men on television its always a problem. That's why so many females walk around with DL men. Chy claiming she doesn't have a problem with it, then reiterating in many different ways that it actually does bother her while trying to sound politically correct was very telling. Girl that's why you stuttering trying to find the right words to say, because your not even comfortable with your own opinion on black gay men on television enough to just spit it out, and I wonder why. Like girl your trying to say the black gay man narrative is being pushed on the audience just because you see an influx of it on television when In reality it just means you haven't watched enough movies or tv shows with white gay men, especially when there are SO MANY. I am so happy Winter said all the things she said, cause it just seemed like Chy have/had deep rooted problems with seeing black gay men on tv. Don't be THAT person that's trying to sound non-judgmental but the more you speak its nothing but judgment. Girl just hope your man not DL.

    Chy your take on gay masculine men was tired. There is no agenda being pushed. If it’s in everything you’re seeing then expand your horizons. There have been strong black male
    straight leads in Moesha, Scandal, How to Get Away With Murder, Insecure, Martin, Living Single, Atlanta, etc. So to say something like that just isn’t well researched. The thing is like Wintrr said is there can be strong black men that are gay and they need that representation. The fact that masculine gay black men on tv is an “agenda” being pushed but not all of these black led drug kingpin shows aren’t in crazy. But hey I guess you can be a strong respected drug dealer, pedophile, etc. but being gay is the cut off😒 Love y’all down but this take just wasn’t it.

      U know I agree with the end. I’m tired of how black men are being portrayed in media in general. Their only roles are to either wear a dress, kill or rob someone so I kind of see a discrepancy in it all. But that’s just my take. Ur entitled to ur opinion and so am I. 🫣

    • @chellebelle210
      @chellebelle210 8 месяцев назад +3

      @@Siouxnami my point is it’s not a story in a show that happens to have a Character that is gay or trans. It’s that they write every single storyline to be centered around a character’s “gayness”. And the rest of the plot comes second.

    • @Siouxnami
      @Siouxnami 8 месяцев назад +11

      @@chellebelle210 what about rom coms? The story itself has to do with two characters falling in love. Thats the plot in movies. Thats straight. The plot is a straight couple being straight and falling in love. So whats he difference?? Is homosexual love somehow less complex of a plot than that?
