Protoje isn't a vocalist or doesn't proclaim to be but I'll say his strength is more in his ear, eyes, and pen. He has a knack for curating sounds and talent that push the music forward. Ziah being one such talent. His lyrics also if not contextualized can pass as just a kool rhyme but generally, pretty decent. But agreed. Nt the best vocalist.
