    I like the idea of a DPS check boss fight for territory. How does that work with Deathworlds? I pretty much only play Railworld Deathworlds because they are the most fun to me. Does it make the territories smaller? I love the Biter and tank test, that's the best way to test new game mechanics!. I just hope that the reason for why there is no Demolisher in the starting area is because your rocket lands directly on top of that one and kills it Wizzard of Oz style.

    using eruptions that target the player seems too far fetched, id prefer having it belch ash plumes. the regeneration rate should be decreased to a few hundred hp/s and resistances increased for the body segments to encourage targeting the head.
    considering the fact it has no visible eyes it should attack entities that make noise (belts, drills), those that dont (electric poles, rails) would be susceptible to collateral damage.
    unrelated thought: since the rocket turret (and spidertron by extension) are unlocked on gleba, that implies crafting them somehow requires wrigglers, perhaps replacing fish.

      Starter pistol fires 4 shots per second. The starter ammo deals 5 damage. So that's 20 damage per second. The worm is said to heal at 1500 HP per second. So you need 75 people firing continuously to break even. Multiply that by whatever the damage resistance is.

    I'm torn.
    The most boring game I ever played was a no enemy one, where I built up to 4k spm. It was so boring, I took a 6 month break in the middle of it all. So I like dealing with enemies, if anything they provide a mental break, I turn my brain off and go destroy stuff. Default settings biters never cause me a headache. Fighting them soon enough becomes trivial in 1.1, but I can't still totally ignore them. So combat and defenses are needed, but the game does not feel combat oriented. It feels like 10% of the game, at most.
    Last few FFF's reveal things that pull the game in a direction I'm not sure I like that much. They are all about making combat harder. Like enemies that ignore walls. These worms that regen very fast. PLD nerf. Tougher nests. It all sounds like I'll lack the minimum APM required to efficiently deal with enemies. Factorio is a real time game, but it never felt like it's APM heavy. I'm an old dude. I won't magically get a higher APM. I'll still suck, no matter how hard I try. So those last FFF's are not good news for me. I turned enemies off once and it was boring as heck. I just hope it'll be a bit easier to bulldoze my way through enemies than they make it sound like.

    • @Nikowo1610
      @Nikowo1610 День назад +1

      I'm sure everyone's first few runs with the new enemies is gonna be tough, not being used to them and such, but afterwards, with all the new options introduced, I'm sure it'll keep being easy, if not moreso

    • @Xterminator
      @Xterminator  День назад +2

      @@sillymonkey725 I'd like to try and assure you that it's not as bad as it may sound from the FFF. Here's why :)
      Nauvis enemies - Yes they do have more health but their damage wasn't buffed. So they're just a bit harder to kill, but still completely doable. A tank and some piercing ammo with some damage upgrades works quite well even up through big biters.
      Vulcanus worms - they are tough for sure, with their huge health pools and Regen, but they won't bother you at all until you need to move onto their territory. In terms of killing them, there are multiple viable options and none require high APM or some super expensive tech.
      Gleba - Probably the most annoying honestly. But they don't really expand and once you get enough legs in your power armor and some PLDs, they can be handled. I can't say specifically, but there are other things as well that you get that make it even easier.
      I totally understand your concerns and agree that playing with enemies off is quite boring after a while.
      I'd just say, give them a try before worrying too much. My APM and general combat skills in games is nowhere near what it used to be and I haven't struggled with them that much so far. :)

    • @sillymonkey725
      @sillymonkey725 День назад

      @@Nikowo1610 Oh I totally expect it to be tough, no doubt. I even want it that way, hopefully it'll feel like the first time I played 0.13. But it currently feels like any weapon will beat biters. Landmines, rockets, tank, grenades, PLD, capsules, they all are useful. When I see a clip of someone fighting that worm with PLD, defender capsules, rockets and other weapons all combined while apparently not even scratching it, it looks nothing like the "breaks" I take from building to go alien hunting and relax.
      On the plus side, those worms don't respawn. So the struggle to kill one seems fair. And I'm sure I'll get a high the first time I'll kill one :)
