Cool art style and pretty good editing + wrighting for such a small channel. Also cool that I found that video when making Co-Op Multiplayers tier list template.
I love this!! ^^ We were probably born in the same years cuz Rayman Origins was also the very first Rayman game in my life and I have deep nostalgia from it I also recognize the Viva Pinata fox toy - that was another game I got along with RO How old were you when you first played RO?? Also what console did you play it on?? Tbh RO is an amazing game for me and I don't really mind the lack of story, cuz it's all explained when you search the hidden script on the internet Also I might be a little weird but I prefer Ales Mansay over other Rayman villains lol - it's because they all seem like copy-paste villains for me that are suddenly just "evil" and there's nothing really much to them I enjoy the complexity of Ales' personality and backstory and that he's not a typical villain
Yeah I get what your saying with Ales being a fresh villain! We don't see many "Teensy gone evil" in Rayman. I think i first played Origins back when I was 9-ish? It's been a minute but I played it on the Xbox360 lol
I love it!!! I support you doing more content in this fashion. However, for me, 20 minutes is a bit long. Then again, I am not a RayMan fan. I like how your video has all kind of elements: 2d animation, clips from the game, clips from other people. I love your storytelling, as if we are just chatting. It's not too fast or too slow. Overall, I am impressed. Keep it up! ❤
Great discussion-based video! Definitely think about doing more. :) Origins isn't my favorite game in the series, but it's still really fun and helped Rayman escape the bounds of the Raving Rabbids. lol But I do hope whatever new game is on the horizon is more of an actual return to form in terms of 3D gameplay, story and characters. More consistency basically!
I found this video in the rayman tag on tumblr, and it really expresses a lot of my feelings on rayman origins that other reviews haven't really been able to! Even down to the moskito and lum counter (it's def a skill issue, but my fingers are ruined thanks to bzzit) I grew up on rayman legends for the console and it's what made me fall for the franchise. Recently I bought origins on steam (bc even when i was younger i remember loving those worlds more than the ones in legends). It's been odd to play the game and have one of the most wonderful times ever, to then replaying legends and feeling absolutely nothing 💀 Not that it's a bad game, but idk what happened I've already bought r3 and (if i get the damn thing to launch lol) will be playing it since I've heard it has the same goofy tone I've liked here. But idk, as someone who enjoys the franchise mostly from this game's pov, I say it's a genuinely charming time. My best guess is that they made sure you feel your progress. You go from struggling to even kick and jump at the same time to speedrunning levels. The game also introduces new things progressively and appropriately. I never felt it too jarring and it was always exciting to see what they would make up next. The game's not super deep but I also think the little details add a lot. I exhausted all lines of dialogue from polokus, the nymphs and the magician before going on my way just to see if i could understand the voice actors talking pig latin lol. And the red wizards coming back to gang up on rayman if you hit them on "Moseying the Mountain" / the granny that walks up to you in the land of the living dead is stuff i still love. Some stuff I don't like def (Betilla redesign still hurts actually, Murphy and Rayman have 0 personality, that e3 trailer moment killed my grandma, and you're seriously left with the feeling the game could've given out much more in the story department once you finish it) but i still think it's so odd that it's not more popular
I literally agree with all your points! I think the charm in its simplicity and general vibe keeps me coming back. The progress in Origins feels way more earned and like, naturally than in Legends (and I'm not even the first person to mention that lol). Also I bet you'll enjoy Rayman 3 if you do enjoy whimsy and goofing off rather than a super serious story >:3
Sure there are SO MANY damn flaws with the story and characters but let's be honest... We don't play Rayman for lore, we play for gameplay and level design! And Rayman Origins KILLS it with that! It is SOOOO fun to just play again and again! ALSO! Fellow Rayman 3 lover yessssss!
I recently replayed this game and finally 100%ed it within a Discord stream and I didn't really enjoy it like I used to. Playing Origins and Legends back to back really shows to me how different they feel. In most cases with Origins I feel like I had to force Rayman and the gang to get to Point A to Point B and Point C. I cannot stand that Lum King song being played over and over again. It almost drove me mad on some levels. I don't really understand how most people prefer Origins over Legends. Yeah sure Murfy could be annoying in Legends but that really depends on the version you're playing. But going back to Origins (The game not the levels in Legends) It felt so frustrating even after knowing what's gonna happen. I'm probably not gonna being replaying Origins again in a long time. Rayman Legends even with it's own flaws I rather go back and 100% again than Origins. I don't hate Origins but I certainly don't like it. But I'll always cherish it as the game that help shaped the positive chemistry that me and my nephew has been having since 2012. Also howdy do fellow Rayman 3 enjoyer.
Yeah I understand your issues with the game! It's not for everyone and Legends has its own charms it brings to the table. There's probably a bit of nostalgia with Origins which explains why I like it so much tbh lol. Also hello fellow Rayman 3 enjoyer
@@ZyntCant_Animate If I ever do go back to replaying Origins. I'm just gonna be replaying The Land of Livid Dead level since it's the only level that I know of that doesn't have the Lum King song. Otherwise I'm mostly sticking to either Rayman 1, The Game Boy games, or Rayman Legends as my go to 2D Rayman platformers. Again I don't hate Origins. But I am nostalgic to it as much as the next guy.
I am 30 seconds into the vid and hear "And the fourth game in the mainline games" and my soul hurts... Like yes.................. Technically.... But also.... Noooo TnT "See you in Rayman 4!" Rayman 4 got scrapped TWICE btw...
Yurr!!!! Honestly I just thought the game looked cool on the hshop (modded ds game catalogue) & got it, absolutely wonderful. Even though I only knew Rayman existed cause of the French edutainment game & clh (wildly different introduction but whatever). Heard the controls are terrible on the ds but I dont really play videogames so I can just assue major skill issues everytime I get stuck on a level for days.⁽⁽◝( •௰• )◜⁾⁾💞✨
We all have skill issues, no hate here! I dug a little bit around the 3DS release of this game, and while I do think you're better off with consoles, doesn't mean you still can't enjoy the game on 3DS ^^

I also like the expression on zynt. Her eyes, mouth, and hand gestures embodied what she was saying

I cannot believe I grew up playing the crappy 3DS port of this game
I mean, the port isn't superrr bad, but if you were to pick it up again I do recommend one of the console ports lol
