Nice video and job! When testing for the output voltage, it's also important to verify that the frequency is 60 Hz under full load... With no load, it should be about 62 Hz. Great job!
it amazes me how many variants of the first gen that you showed I have the a 2.5 lk and the muffler is on the same side as the spark plug mine starts so quick cold or hot I dont use it at all just love to tinker with it has to weigh 300 pounds good luck.
U need the circuit board installed for the bigger generator... it has the start and stop switches on it and it's needed to charge the 12 volt battery.. without it your running without the oil pressure switch 2
Good job brother have a few old generators to that I ended up rehab and they're very solid units you're very cool to watch you show everything you're very chill dude even the downfalls everything else to jumpstart a truck good stuff brother enjoy your videos I'm actually subscribe now
Good video pal big fan of generator videos I run a 7000 watt all the time but don't know a dang thing about electrical. I see these things going for cheap all the time.
Nice video I have that same generator that I’m rebuilding. Everything is working great runs perfect. Right now it’s hooked up for 120v and I need a converted into 240v. Do you think you can send me a more clear shot of how you wired it? I don’t wanna fudge this up.
take 2 clocks with a second hand. plug one in to the house power, second one into the generator. this is how you can set/check the generator to 60 cycles. nice job!
I’ve never had a Single Cylinder Onan, I’ve had Three Twin Cylinders, they always have a nice sound to them. So you know you shouldn’t run these generators with out a load for very long. The Onan’s I had, I always had lightbulbs connected to them, all the time.
Generators that old don’t use inverter technology. Power is generated directly off the motor head and the electronics are mainly for start/stop and speed control
When (If), your mechanical IQ gets higher, you will pull the carburetors and thoroughly clean them out without a second thought, and flush old gas out of the system before you try to start it. Doing that ensures the engine won't have any fuel supply problems in the next few hours of operation. When the air-fuel mixture is not adjusted right the engine will vibrate unnecessarily and run rough.
I cut my teeth 40 years ago on the Ck onans..they were bullet proof...i work on all brands now...onan sorta went to hell after Cummins bought them out...everything is expensive to buy...
Dude I never thumbs up anything or anyone, but I gotta give it to you. You tha man!
Nice video and job!

Thanks!
Ive got some old site generators here in the UK with Petter diesels on em...
They make a rite auld racket...
😆🇬🇧

I have the same little one 2500 watt, I also have a 4000 watt, That runs My Entire Home well hot water heater, Out side spot lights, Great Generators.

Thanks! Seems like everything I do is a process haha
Nice~! Gotta love poweer when you can get it as you need it 🙂😎👍👍

To wire this unit 240V
M1 is Hot
M4 is Hot
M2 and M3 are tied in together, and that will be the neutral?
And ground goes the ground
I think so. It was pretty clearly spelled out somewhere. In the manual or maybe even on the machine somewhere.

Nice save!
I found 6.5 in a rv , Using 2 plastic marine fuel tanks on mine ,
take 2 clocks with a second hand. plug one in to the house power, second one into the generator. this is how you can set/check the generator to 60 cycles. nice job!
that's a genius way to check frequency!!
they are excellent for the house and sip fuel
How do you wire the battery to make the starter turn?
Will it run your Welder..... although you will want to run that outside
Score !! 🙌
love watchin yr posts thanks
Thanks for watching!
nice job, what muffler did you use on the 2500 watt generator?
What spark plug do I need for the first one...its similar to mine
Check the spark plugs doesn't sound like it's running on all 4 cylinders.

You can buy almost every part you need at a RV center, Just make sure you do What I said, Get a plug in for watts a HZ, set at 60 HZ
Success!
Who needs the "grid" anyway? I'd love to have access to my own power source. Unfortunately, we live in a place that won't allow it.
Great video man as usual 😊. Rat
Thanks!
👍👍👍
I don’t know if it’s worth the oil and grease on my driveway.
Don’t plug computers into generator power as it’s not clean inverter power. Also tune governor to 60 cycles.
Generators that old don’t use inverter technology. Power is generated directly off the motor head and the electronics are mainly for start/stop and speed control
Make sure if your going to used these to run your home, They are set to 60hz, If not you will burn up all your Electronics,.

Hey JL ya'll need to stop filling your child's air with carbon monoxide. Not good. Door is NOT OPEN ENOUGH.
