Base Wars is also a really good sports game on the NES. My sisters liked Super Team, but you'd need a working Power Pad and friends who aren't afraid to sweat profusely.
Thanks for the list, dawg! I'm a "90's kid" with a 5-year-old, and I got the NES for my own 5th birthday. My daughter likes to watch videos about retro games (especially by Sega Lord X), but she hasn't really gotten into playing them herself yet. Maybe something on this list will change that. Thanks again.
That’s awesome! I have a five year old daughter too. She loves playing co-op games with me, but mostly new games. Someday I’ll try to get her to play more nes haha
Oh, we play tons of co-op games together. Gaming has become her primary pastime, as it has always been mine. Newer games tend to be both easier and better looking, though, so... @@ClassicCo-op
@@vacantseaofplanets Kirby's Adventure is actually my favorite NES game, and it's the one I recommend to everyone. The only problem is, it's not co-op! 😬 We did just finish Kirby's Dreamland 3 for the SNES, though. She's now a Gooey fan (especially because of her vast experience with Slime Rancher games).
I cant get an answer to this anywhere so Im trying here, if I the buy micro mages digital version Rom, can I add it to my nes or SNES mini like i do with other nes roms or will I have to play it on my PC? Thank you
Should check out Super Chinese 3 (Kung-Fu Heroes and Little Ninja Brothers are localized versions of 1 and 2). Also the other Kunio-kun Games (IE: Renegade and River City Ransom are localized Kunio games). Wai Wai World 1 and 2 is also worth checking out (mix of Konami).
@@ClassicCo-op Awesome!! I have become a huge fan of FamiCom games. There are some really cheap very playable games in that library. I am finding as I am getting older, I prefer the 2 player Co Op games. Essentially, 5th Gen and newer, feels like they have very little co-op as compared to 3-4th Gen. As I basically skipped 5th Gen while away at Univ, I have no nostalgia for it or newer games. (Wii is kinda an exemption). Its hard to find any real co-op lists for Saturn, N64 and PS1. For the most part, the wifey and I only play Tetrisphere from this group of games.
I don’t think the full game has been released yet. There’s a demo available though. I got the name wrong though - it’s black jewel. You can get the demo at itch.io
I could barely come up with 15 games that were good co-ops and yet you came up with a list of 30, but somehow managed to ignore Contra, Battletoads, Rescue Rangers 2, Ice Climber, Mario Bros. Clu Clu Land, TMNT III & Double Dragon 3. How did you scrape the bottom of the barrel finding obscure crappy games to fill this list and somehow went right past all these well known good games?
I didn’t ignore those games. I included Contra 2, the first rescue rangers, and tmnt arcade. I wanted diversity in the list and not just a bunch of games from the same series. Most people know about all of those other games, and I wanted to highlight some lesser known titles that I think are better. I promise none of these games are crappy. You should try them!
@@ClassicCo-op ok maybe i dismiss some of those games as crappy unfairly. I appreciate the thought. Yeah, I thought perhaps you didnt include some because you had already mentioned another game of the series. People often do that when listing games, such as only giving mention of one and not all six Mega Man games. Personally I don't agree with leaving all of the rest out. I would list each game to be its own game, regardless of how similar it is to another in the series of NES games. In any regard, though I don't agree with your approach on that, I understand and appreciate it. Anyway, cool video.
Am I the only one who finds chip n dale difficult? All I hear is how easy it is, youll beat it your first time lol Ive struggled with it and quit in frustration, I find Castlevania less frustrating than Chip n Dale's.
I thought it was really hard too. Then at some point it just clicked and I was able to beat it pretty easily. Once you get past the first level, it gets easier, I think. You just have to master the hiding in crates move.
@@ClassicCo-op You can hide in the boxes? I did not know that you can do that, I watched a playthrough and they never hid in the boxes, but it was by arcus who's a speed runner. I'll try out the hiding, thanks.

@@ClassicCo-op 😮💨😮💨😮💨 lol
actually 28 is called Rush N Attack
30 is called Xybots
16 was actually S.C.A.T. and 20 is Rod land.
Pretty good video. The only complaint I have is the lack of an appendix to note the names so I don’t have to constantly rewind to remember them.
Thanks! I’ll update the time stamps.
The video got appendicitis and it got removed
I always used to play Teenage Muntant Hero Turtles 2: The Arcade Game, Chip n Dale, Bubble Bobble, and Battletoads on the NES with my little brother
Nice! Good times!
@@ClassicCo-op Yep. Well...maybe not so much with Battletoads haha! 😅

I need to try that again!
you forgot Ikari Warriors. thats an amazing co-op game as well.
Damn, phenominal list. I've been back and forth the NES library and never have seen Broadland and Mendel's Palace.

I'm a little surprised Life Force isn't included, was always one of my favorites to play with one of my siblings as a kid.
That’s a good one too!
14:35 - I’ll wait for the romhack that adds “Bimmy”, too.
Bimmy is essential!
I am letting my brother play, Mom! He's controlling the pipes!

jurassic park with a 2 player mode on nes is also very good and keroppi to keroriinu no splash bomb. Shoud give it a try

how to find&download the homebrew games?
Check archive.org
How did you leave off Bad Dudes or Ikari Warriors from here
Bad dudes isn’t co-op on nes, and Ikari Warriors is one of the worst games of all time haha.
The list had to many unlicensed later releases. Jakal . legendary wings . And chip an Dale were my fav. Rushing attack as well
It was only a handful of unlicensed games. They’re all really good, and not many people talk about them.
chip n dale has another nes game
