Thank you. Much love. Brought some tears to my eyes can't lie about that. Good ones. Trying to get my GED so I can join the military and serve my country. Been my #1 dream since I was a young boy. What I feel my purpose is. Would like to be Military police possibly, 31k Military working dog handler, detecting bombs and saving lives of the ones really savings ours. Speaking of Next, next best would be Army 11B. My original long term goal, before I discovered 31K. I was a young boy playing with toy guns every single day fighting "bad guys" and keeping my neighborhood safe... Even as a toddler I always had my toy soldiers all over the place fighting each other in creative ways.... Life hasn't been good to me. I'm hoping I even pass requirements to get into the military. But first thing first I need to get motivated to get a diploma...
Any advice on how to focus and retain information better is greatly appreciated.

My adhd is pretty bad. I find it hard to focus on even one simple math problem, and I always end up doodling on the side of the paper instead of actually doing my work. My room is extremely messy 24/7 because I don’t have any patience to clean it. If I start, I’ll get distracted by a thing I found and just sit there and look at it. Or get lost in my thoughts

This, this right there, SAVED MY LIFE as a student ! I couldn't even concentrate for 5 mins, I'd have read the same sentence over and over for about 15 times times before understanding it. I would lose my focus, and I would be distracted by everything so easily. Getting the easiest task done, which should normally take about a dozen minutes, would take me hours. This whole comments section made me almost cry. I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child and suffered most of my life because of misunderstandings and being mistreated. Currently I am doing my Master's in Neuroscience at a top-ranked university I'd have never even imagined I could get into. Ironically (or maybe the exact opposite), I specialise in cognitive deficits associated with neurodevelopmental disorders. It is extremely hard to catch up with all my peers when I have to work twice as hard as them, but smh I forgot where I was getting with this paragraph. Anyway, in conclusion, whatever you aim for is only impossible if you do not try hard enough.

I'm surprised, but this really works for me! This particular music track has a very neutral mood and it doesn't make me sad like a lot of other similar tracks. I don't have access to ADHD meds, so I have to invent routines and trick myself. I struggle to concentrate when people talk to me, or when the task is not too interesting. I also figured out what interests me the most, and I know how to reach hyperfocus doing that, but when it gets to doing something 'boring' I often can't even start. I'm used to getting lost in ideas, thoughts, things that surround me, things that I suddenly want to google, and discovering myself 4-12 hours later not having done anything I should have. It's like I suddenly regain consciousness and realize that I can't understand how could I waste all this time. When I have neutral background music with no words, it helps a ton to start doing something and actually continue for more than 15 minutes. So thank you for this track!

I found this video while studying at University. Other ADHD focus vidoes that I have tried on here only work to help me focus for a short period of the video run time. Either they become background noise and don't work for that day or one very specific one slowly gives me a headache and I am not sure why (though incase anyone needs that one I am happy to offer it because we aren't all the same imbalance 😊).
This is the ONLY video that not only helps me FOCUS but I really wish I could download this off of an app called Zedge so that I could get a small section of this to play on loop as my wake up alarm on my phone (not only because it helps me WAKE UP, but I have a roommate who does not need to wake up as early as I do and they have said this definitely sooths them to sleep so.....this would make the perfect wake up alarm sound for that)

Want to go to trade school but not until I pay my debt off. Some days I just feel defeated and have trouble even completing the smallest task, I stumbled upon this today, and I just cleaned my whole house while listening to it. I can't believe it. I have a theory on how this type of music works. When were studying in a very quiet room we have almost no sensory information coming in and our minds go blank and you start to feel "brain fog". When listening to high tones like this, it keeps you alert by giving you constant sensory information into your ears keeping your mind awake.

I honestly wish I could figure out if I have ADHAD or ADD or not. I’m starting to suspect something and I’ve been doing a little research but it’s just so hard to tell. I freaking tell you, it’s a pain to focus on things for like for than maybe five minutes. But other times I feel my focus pretty locked on. It tends to fluctuate. I still want to get tested tho so I know once and for all. My parents aren’t really big on mental health and Therapy so I don’t think I’ll be anytime soon. :(

that's a shame! you definitely should get tested to rule out other possibilities like Depression or Anxiety (or many others) and then be able to have a treatment plan to help you move forward whatever the case may be. maybe you can find someone online on your own? either way, hope you get the help you need and stay healthy and safe!

Hey there. I definitely am facing the same issue, I just realized basically all my life I had kindof problems with focus, bcoz all the time I was focused on the 'ideal' which I wanted, and then like my mind would immediately go to the thoughts that 'i can't seem to understand' and be super fixated on this v thought that I can't understand, why can't I understand...
And that'd decrease self esteem and just I was a v stressed out kid man! Too much stress of perfection and therefore always thinking about getting perfection and why am not getting perfection, yet not the topic in studies , still I'd grind myself a lot and manage getting good grades..
I was questioning this myself a few weeks back whether I have ADHD? Coz I managed to get grades, and didn't have any problems with interruptinh ppl.
I d ont know I feel I should work on the stress which causes distracting thoughts(as a way of relief) , rather than labelling ADHD as a disorder and being passive about it.
      Hope this helps

Hope since your comment you got the help you needed! I feel the same and my mum knows that I think I have it but tries to sway me from getting a diagnosis. It's tough dude but you're not alone.

i have to do only two more weeks of intense study. i know these 2 weeks will be hard, they will be draining and diffuclt. however, that's it, only 2 weeks then i can relax knowing that on results day it will all be worth it. i will succeed to my fullest extent because of this hard work. so yes these 2 weeks will be hard but they will also be enriching, i will learn more than i have before, i will understand new concepts, i will better myself and take care of my mind. just 2 more weeks...

Brain fog is exactly it. I just started a new job, and thankfully we are allowed to use headphones when working alone, and this does clear it nearly as good as medication!

Mega Electronvolt Exactly. This is way better than medication, which pollutes, has side effects, and messes up our body chemistry? Plus this will re-entrain the brain, while meds just make us dependent.
(Still people should be careful, strategic & thoughtful to plan before stopping meds too quickly)

I simply stumbled on this video after years of coping with ADHD. I flunked out of high school, and I didn't have a chance for college. I have instead become enrolled in a technical college. Today marks the first day that I have been able to sit down and do work without distraction and with focus. I thank you so much for this. This has changed my life and it's only been the first day since I have learned about this music. I truly do believe I have a chance for higher education, one that I can focus on and be happy with. I cannot say it enough, thank you.

This is the only audio for focus that actually works for me. I know there should be more out there that works, but this one helps me get stuff done fast.

That swishing sound in the background of this video... I hear that every time when i'm in (or lucky enough to get in) hyper focus mode. This is crazy. I usually can't study longer than 20 min at a time, but I was able to study for 2 and 1/2 hours. Thank you so much for this.
