- Above is a quick video on how to construct a poncho raft. This is a buddy team event during General Subjects phase of sapper school. You will have 10 minutes to complete this event. This video by all means will not get you a go in sapper school but is designed to give you an idea of what to prepare for during lake day.
Excellent video! I had read of a poncho raft already, but seeing how it is done expediently with descriptions of each step, makes all the difference

Pretty good instruction. Not sure why you didn't explain about blowing air into the wet weather bag inside the ruck and taping or repairing any holes. i.e. air floats. Unless its not done anymore. I graduated Sapper course in 92. So many things were different. But I hated how perfect things had to be. Unlike SFAS. If it works? Its good. 4", 6", 8" is BS things to make you a no-go.
And really, get someone better than you at snapping a button?! NOT something an Engineer would say. But all in all. Helps soldiers be prepared.
