- Case IH are renowed for their single rotor Axial Flow design for combine harvesters. But did you know the American manufacturer briefly produced straw walker machines in Europe during the late 90's and early 00's? The early models such as this 527 were produced in the former MDW factory in Singwitz, Eastern Germany. The history of this factory goes back 133 years to the foundry of Raussendorf threshers. Case IH purchased MDW in 1997 and commenced production a year later until the take-over by New Holland.
This Case IH 527 is believed to be the only one of its kind working in the Netherlands. With only a handful produced they are a rare sight. The Vedder family still uses this very tidy and original machine to cut their wheat and spring barley every year.
Watch the full video for a lot of harvesting action and meanwhile learn more about the history of this model and harvester production in Singwitz.

Blijft mooi om naar combine beelden te kijken.
Helemaal mee eens!
Thank you. interesting video which is very well filmed as usual 👍🏻
Thanks a lot, glad you like it!
I kinda wanted combines from Case IH looking more like this. It looks quite good. And it was being built just 2 years before my birth, so it came just in time to come into existance at the same time as me, which i find a bit odd
Great video
A very unique machine
Good machine
Eine Schande das sowas aufgekauft wurde von einer Amerikanischen Firma. MDW baute damals den modernsten Mähdrescher der Welt, den Mdw Arcus 2500.
What happened to the narration videos that followed along with the contractor companies?
I'm afraid hiring a narrator for videos such as these is to expensive compared to the advertisement returns. The other videos generate more income so I can justify it there.
This is also a test to see if people like it and think it adds something
