Great video - sure makes me feel good to know poultry farmers are conscientious enough to hire a vet and that Dr. Wilson is passionate about his work. Very interesting and well made video . Thanks!

Leah Allen: I also agree...good video and a committed veterinarian. There are some really ignorant comments being left on this site. People must think that their food just "appears" in the packages in grocery stores.

As a vet, he's probably not as happy about the housing situation as he seems but has to keep it up to make a living :(

It is unfortunate. I noticed 1:31& 3:27 and a "brief" visit to the caged birds. Very sad. The birds are not able to move and kept immobile. That is cruel. Chickens are meant to forage for worms, bugs, and you have each bird immobilized! Getting My eggs from a local.

God created chickens to peck at the ground look at them trying to peck, they need sunshine and grass.

This is no different. Do they see sunlight? Do the get to roam around, free, outside, in the sunlight? I just don't understand how you think this is any better than an other leading mass production farm. They deserve to be outside, not stacked upon other hundreds and thousands of chickens in what you call a "chicken house".

Good information...thanks for posting! Lots of TROLLS commenting on here...probably vegans and Monsanto employees, too. I went to the Rose Acre Farms company website and I was impressed by their commitment to animal welfare, their innovative "cage-free" systems, their "buy local grain and support the local economy policy," their HUGE amount of philanthropy, and the fact that they are a CHRISTIAN company whom employees rank VERY HIGHLY, and I could say more. Considering what I have learned about Rose Acre Farms...I highly suspect FOOD SABOTAGE...and not negligence on the part of the company. Bio-terrorism is only ONE weapon that we currently have in play in this country.( Oh, yeah...it's not the Muslims doing it, you morons!!) Also...this little ALLEGED "outbreak" will further damage company employees, egg producers, consumers(who will be less likely to purchase/eat eggs)...AND...it will cause a rise in the price of eggs, too. Eggs are one of the FEW AFFORDABLE PROTEIN SOURCES that we have left in this country!!! People are so stupid to believe anything that the FDA or CDC reports...they are criminal cabals.

It would appear, Valerie, that you are the "troll" ... or at least have a vested interest in speaking on behalf of this company. Their chickens, like all chickens, are intelligent, sentient creatures ... and deserve far better than the filthy, crowded conditions shown in the video. There are humane farming practices that provide range-free environments - true outdoor access, fresh air and sunshine and, of course, vet and other services to ensure the health of their chickens. But, although even Walmart and other mass grocery stores now offer "free range", most of their purveyors do not truly provide humane practices. "Truth in advertising" is still not enforced and often "free range" is terribly misleading, as this site clearly shows: www.upc-online.org/freerange.html Bringing about truly humane farming practices is virtually impossible given the artificial demand created by commercial interests, and American's "all you can eat" mentality. Some organizations and groups are working to educate consumers as to what it takes to introduce truly humane practices. See: www.hfa.org/ But, as your posts clearly indicate, the push back is endless and backed by powerful commercial interests. As for affordable protein sources ...There are at least good sources of non-animal protein, virtually all of them healthier than eggs: www.eatthis.com/lose-weight-build-muscle-with-complete-proteins/

I saw the video at 1:31 and 3:27. Immobilizing birds for egg production (caged) is cruel. Insulting viewers as trolls is nothing more than a deflection of what's really going on.

Valerie how about you stfu hun! Not everyone who hates animal cruelty is some vegan libtard snowflake, I really think it's in basic human nature to care about seeing other animals in pain. It's YOU who is the troll and should hold yourself accountable for trying to normalize this.

Care to tell people what the chicken industry does to the male chicks?

Those are called roosters and they are mainly used in the reproduction factor of chickens
