Carly has one of the most distinct playing styles. And he does it so effortlessly. Dude is a legend in his own right! As well as Familyman! This is what birth Sly & Robbie and others!

I man hear Tyrone a bad-up mi brethren Munchie... Munchie Jackson was a producer and was shot to death by his son in New York about 1990 or thereabouts. Munchie also produced a lot of music on the Lloyd Barnes, "Bullwackie" label. Just a bit of trivia for those who don't know.
Yes Jay I have to agree with you on that statement, I play a little bass myself, that's the first instrument I first ever played, then I started learning lead and riddim, as time went on I bought myself a SR 16 drum machine then before I knew it i had a little 4 track set up and started learning keyboard all this took time.. and even now I'm still surprised of the things I do, the inspiration/ expression that comes from within. Music is definitely a spiritual language capable of reaching and uniting the 🌎 world.
So many have tried to imitate Carlton’s style of drumming but no one I mean no one not his nephew no one gets his timing it has a swing as if he was playing hand percussion.
it's one of the most impossible time feel and sound to extract from a drum set ever. No jazz drummer can do that, no rock drummer, no one. Not even other reggae drummer like Horsemouth, Sly. No one man. It's just too unique, tied to his own body feel somehow. Legend
practice! being high while playing can actually sometimes lock you into the music better. unless of course you're so high you're about to just fall asleep haha
This is the cornerstone guys,,this is the real deal,,,,"Slave driver" in rehearsal,,,, "Those That Have Eyes Will See and Those That Have Ears Will Hear"
I got on better with Tyrone. I would love to see him again. I wonder if he'd remember the girl from Swaziland in the VIP stands at the Zimbabwean Independence Celebrations in April 1980? Mmm... Of course he would. 😂

I'm a musician, and i also smoke herb, infact i'm about to roll a spliff right now haha i just don't smoke and play because it makes you a bit sloppy on the guitar...thats all i'm saying
i don't understand how these guys can smoke herb and play music?for me its one or the other,i can't smoke and play,i play then after i smoke man!!like any other job..

That's how the magic is born jamming till something comes from the feeling out of the bass and beat 🪘

It sounds like Tyron Downie is quarreling with somebody.
In 0:26 I hear him say "Blood Clat"
Bob Marley is literally ill with lung cancer as they play/record this.
