Long time no see! I was planning to make a hand tools video as my comeback but no luck with time, instead I was able to film this client project I worked last month, power tools mostly. Hope you'll enjoy it!
Good to see you back, I was wondering where you had gone and hoped you would return at some point. Looking forward to seeing some more of what you've been up to...
This is absolutely beautiful and such a pleasure to watch. As many commented, I love watching hand tools videos but I’d rather have power tools videos than no video at all. You’re an artist and you have been missed! Thank you for these wonderful videos you share with us.
Beautiful result as always. I think I will always prefer your hand tool videos, but I'll gladly take power tool videos over no videos at all! Welcome back to youtube, you have been missed :)
Thanks! Yes, it was a hard decision for me if to film this or not, but it was over 15 months since I haven't published anything so I had to do something to bring the video making mojo back
Hi Adrian! So glad to see another video from you. You have such a knack for visual storytelling - no words needed. So beautiful to watch the story for your client unfold. I'm sure they're very happy!
It’s a long time no see you Adrian . I am very happy that you come back. You are inspired me to do woodworking. I watched your all of videos in RUclips and rewatched many times. I learned a lot of things. So beautiful Shoji lamp and Kumiko !!! At first I think you will stop doing your work. It’s very sad . But thanks for coming back brother. Hope you will upload a new project. 🙏🙏
Yes! Welcome back Adrian. Your videos are always informative and enjoyable. Another lovely piece of work. Hoping for more hand tool videos to come? There are far too few quality videos of this nature, so don't stay away so long! 😉
Adrian, thank you so much for sharing again your talent, skill and artistry with the world. I watch your videos many times and keep learning new things. I hope you will continue in your good work and offer best wishes from Arizona, USA. 🙏
Espectacular trabajó maestro, tiene un toque japonés, el resultado final es magnífico, gracias por compartir sus conocimientos y experiencias, un saludo cordial y por supuesto un gran like desde Narón (Galicia)👌🤓😜
Thanks! I know, I was in doubt to postpone this vid so when I return there to make better pics. It was late when I installed them, barely no light for pics and videos. The final pictures are heavily edited so I can show the final project😀
It's always a pleasure to watch you work Adrian. Is the kumiko lattice work typically only applied to one side of a shoji door? At 12:21 it looks like there are 2 sets of doors spanning a gap. Is this typically how you would get the lattice work to show regardless of what side of the door you are on? Or would you ever consider applying the kumiko on both sides of the paper so that you would only need a single set of doors?
Hi Adrian. My fall project is to build 2 Shoji sliding doors and your video is very helpful. I checked the list of tools and product but I can’t find the rollers (time 9.35). Can you direct me to your supplier? Thanks for the video. Beautiful work. Andre
I love this Shoji style. The end result looked fantastic in the room and it reminded me of my final project as carpentry apprentice which is a bigger Shoji Lamp/Side Table Hybrid. It was so much work and stress but absolutely worth it imo. It makes me appreciate the work you put into this a lot. The little tricks and tools you use to make the bridle joints are very nice. Edit: Are you, by any chance, from Romania?
@@AdrianPreda Nice! Im from Germany living in Bucharest to study. If you make any exhibitions or something similar I'd be happy to come by and see your work. Doamne ajuta și sănătate.
Awesome video! It's cool to see your power tool setup as well. What type of glue did you use to adhere the paper? And what was the purpose of spraying it with water afterward?
Thanks! That's a special glue for shoji, though is not so special, just made from rice, you can diy too but is not that expensive to buy. It is easy to remove or replace the paper afterwards, just moist with water with a brush and it will peal easily. Spraying is used to remove dents in the paper. Water will soften the paper but once it is dried it will take the form of the frame so it will be tight and flat like a drum head almost
Hey, neat job! I made some sliding shoji panels myself but I made some mistakes and they are not sliding neatly so I will need some kind of rollers myself. Did you find yours locally?
Faină treaba Adrian! Felicitări. Am observat un cnc în filmare, pare ceva de care as fi și eu interesat (ieftin și bun) mi-ai putea da niște detalii despre el?
Thanks! Yes, that one! Very well made, works great. I haven't yet invested in quality chisels, those here are the crapy chinese ones that came with the machine, but they did their job for 2-3 projects I made so far. The only con are the depths screws with the levers, are worse, they brake. But that's not a big deal, can be diy something better
