I don't think I'll ever wrap my head around guys who think like this "was I wrong for not sitting around and waiting?" My dude, if someone gives me even the slightest indication that they think they're the most important part of our relationship, I divest immediately. People don't change and you have to accept when you're not compatible with someone. As for the ghosting, I ghost people all the time 😂 but that's only because most of my friendships/relationships have ended with me being clear that the other person didn't consider my perspective important.
We're all adults, we all understand you can't treat people like trash and expect them to compensate for it and carry the relationship. Ghosting is fine, you don't need to explain to another adult that purposely hurting you is a non starter.

Not once did I see or read anything about sleeping around. There are scenarios about husbands/wives, boyfriends/girlfriends who, for whatever reasons put time and space between them. Granted, some worked, some didn't. The upbringing and personal values have an enormous factor. Reflecting, this tale is basically one-sided from someone I don't know and probably will never know. Thus the grain of salt. Every tale has two sides and, once again, the person reading/hearing the tale will make some sort of judgement based on upbringing, values, etc. As a suggestion, read Robert Frost's The Path not Taken and then record your thoughts.
