Another great video from you and very interesting too. I always thought that the Turner mics looked old fashioned even back in the day. Yes Astatic Teardrop is a much better looking mic. I had a K40 mic back then too. Keep the videos coming!
Are you actually in Wis? I am in central Wis ,20 miles out of Wis dells water parks and have very few operators still on radio these days many gone silent key rest of to 2 meter etc or dropped out totally looking for more locals to have conversations with 398 Wis
Yep. That used to be king but the Astatic Road Devil is an awesome mic especially if you use just a tad bit of reverb. My only qualms with the road devil is that every six months the ptt contacts need some contact spray love. I wonder if contact cleaner spray can be bought that's on par with radio shack contact cleaner that has lubricant but I think that Deoxit 5 for guitars can be comparable. My favorite sound effect was the Missouri mule fart chip.
@@jamesl9686 yeah the D104-M6 was a mic to covet. I used to have a K40 mic with the self recharging capacitor inside. The mic parts finally gave out. I tried repairing it but it wouldn't work right.
Excellent video On Turner Road King 70 and 76 also had 9 volt not 6 or 7 volt batterie of 5 button cells and 3 ways Roger Beep ! Don't remember those one not sure year made 70 or 76 came out? Also remember 6 or 7 volt 2 blue , green , black , red of white also chrome square ones with Blue cords 6 wires type had Blue one of 2 Square took 6 and 7 volt batteries used get Radio Shack then went 5 button cells put and got Su brand from Radio shop also sales batteries last long time better! Also desk mic had Stock Microphone Grey one in Turner was old One used in business band for 150.000 to 173.000 MHZ did need batteries just radio mic gain and trying out CB radio base station also wires up for and was great pick up till mic element died ! Also got Turner 2 base mic also have still Turner Plus 3 desk Microphone with Coffee cup head and Lime Green today it a 9 volt batteries takes plus got new cord too and old too ! Heard also seen Updates Turner Plus 3 Side Kick that had Volume and Gain control too plus had silver Bullet Ring and Gold Ring too! Got Turner Plus 3 of Coffee Head mic element speaker wires for wires in Citizen hand held case from 1975 to 1984 also key switch , Desiel cord 5 wires 10 foot length with 1980 Tram 40 channels Am / SSB 4 pin connector like Uniden or Cobra radio on Citizen Case ! So cool but every hear Citizen case mic think a power mic but not or batteries operate or Retistor on lead wires on mic element ! 5 wires on cord pin 1 ground has 2 wires inside Microphone has one for pin 5 on bottom of key switch for mic ground plus ground to if don't have 2 wires on both get overmodulation for TX and turn mic gain up past 1 clock postion or higher on RX get squealing sound on speaker and chripping sounds to ! But 2 ground together no problem and still get TX on Dealy and RX clunk! But it because Power Microphone element tech told me! Like it!

Very interesting

Neat .
I wonder if you can still buy the 7 volt batteries.
I think you can stack some botton cells together to make one yourself
Cool mic. The "R" beep sound more like an "s" however. Still, it's a mic I wouldn't mind having in my collection.
💯👍👍👍🙋♂
Hi 👋A you consider to sell this microphone Road king 76 thank you?

I hated the old battery constantly adjusting game. Like the video though.
