Poor things. They're instinctively afraid of water because orangutans are notoriously bad swimmers and drown very easily. Their instinct is to cling to the caretaker but the caretaker must remove them to clean them. It's difficult listening to their cries and whimpers - this whole experience must be very confusing for the babies. I know the caretakers are doing the best for these babies though.

Also, they really don’t need bathes. It washes away skin oil that keeps their skin healthy. You wouldn’t see mother bathing them in the wild

Right shes doing her best sprinkling water over and over on him no soap not even washing him because that's helpful if this looks like how you clean yourself or an animal quickly and effectively id have questions and concerns. You couldn't have possibly thought one hand pouring water over the same spot was getting any dirt or smell and honestly who do you think the bath is really for they don't bathe them everytime they change their diapers if she was doing her best she wouldn't have been pulling his hands straight up and making them wave around in the air while he continued to scream he very obviously wasn't going to suddenly think it was fun and stop crying but she kept right on doing it because some people are dumb and think nothing of the crying and screaming and just think he looks so cute with his arms dancing

Peut être qu'une douche hors de la bassine serait plus facile puisqu'il n'est accroché qu'il n'y met quasiment pas les pieds et s'accroche autour.

I agree with the water being too cold for it. The baby orangutans and monkeys are more receptive to bathing when the water is warmed . Before someone comments: “But it’s hot over there and the water is never very cold” , that’s not true! I live in a state that’s often a 3 digit temp in the Summer and the well water comes out of the ground around 55 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit! That’s not warm here and if I were overheated and sweating profusely, I’m still not going to jump in a bathtub if the water’s not warmed up a little!

Probablemente el agua está fría. Vi en otro documental que los bañaban con agua tibia porque a ellos no les gusta el agua fría, como a los humanos.

@@TylerD288 I’m pretty sure it’s necessary to bathe them because they’re much more prone to skin infections/issue when living in captivity. It’s likely the bath water is also mixed with vegetable oil to help their skin.

I have seen Orangoutan rescue centres in Borneo and THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM !!! They don't have cheap facilities like this, plus ALL employees wear an uniform !!! Another case of ANIMAL ABUSE!!! If you are a center like you claim to be, show us your permits, your entire facility, employees, enclosure...

@@GrahamRacher my most sincere apology...I'm a big fan and contributor of the "Nyaru Menteng orangutan rescue and rehabilitation center" and upon looking at your video I felt that it looked light years away from the one I support, maybe it's the facility and the uniforms they wear that makes them look so different from your center. I felt that it looked like a woman bathing a primate in her garage or something.
Again, I sincerely apologize, a thousand excuses, I'm truly sorry, I hope you forgive me and my very protective reaction. Take care
