  • Setting up my table saw. in this cranker of a video i assemble the new saw. I use cool tools like wrenches and other interesting power tools not nearly as bespoke as thing ultra bespoke things i will likely create with my nearly bespoke saw..

Man I know you were stocked getting a new saw of that quality. Great way to incorporate you table saw and save room using part of the new saw as an out feed.

Great video, thanks for posting. I just got a k500s and was looking up felder videos. I setup my old tablesaw just like you on the back of the panel saw and I also have a scm minimax fs41c. It was weird to see you had similar machines but one grade up.

Thanks for showing the set up. Looks like a great saw. You may consider putting a little Alodine on those spots you filed to resist the aluminum oxidizing.

I know what you mean about the instructions. I recently got the K3 and it was the same, so its not just you. With the K3 there is an excellent video on you tube for the set up, covers everything from unboxing laying out the parts to complete assembly, the video was done by felder so I imagine there would be one for your saw. Enjoy your new machine, I am sure it will transform they way you work and make things so much faster.

What kind of countertop material did you use? Kind of looks like a formica but already made up?

It’s called valcromat. I’m unsure on the spelling. It’s just fancy mdf

How the hell did you end up with a Felder with the disappointment you had with your Hammer?!..

In short, Covid. There was an availability issue. It was a year minimum for an scm and Canadian dealer had one felder in stock. I wanted a simple
Saw thinking there was less that could go wrong but that also made it harder to find at the time. I think fielders good equipment but out of principle I for sure intended never to purchase anything from them but oh well.. I’m happy with it.

I would add my biggest problem with the hammer purchase was the dealer I bought It from. That guy was a joke. I got the saw from a different dealer.

So now Felder dealers expect users to do their own assembly !
Mind you, that's probably a good thing because most machinery dealers couldn't change a light bulb without calling in the manufacturer.
Back in the day my dealer did his own deliveries to avoid damage but nothing on the machine was dialed in. NOTHING.
Felder Head office never listens to complaints or returns email's.
    Their warranties aren't worth Jack.
Felder is overpriced, underengineered and vastly overrated.
