if you can get glycerin you can add it to your leave in conditioner to smooth down the hair cuticle

Hey. Don't be so frustrated. The knots are a feature of our hair but we can reduce it. Seal your ends with heavy butter or flaxseed gel. It works. And you are right, leaving the hair loose makes it worse. I always braid my twists into one huge braid and let my hair be. This helps keep the hair moisturized for longer. Waist length lazima tufike.

PATIENCE. I found that my emotional state also influences how I love or hate my hair. 3 big chops in 3 years. I finally figured a good routine for me. Low porosity and 4b. I section like box braids, insert marley in like crochet and twist. Then thread with a small and long section of marley on top of that concealing ALL of my natural strands and eliminating fuzzy roots. No tension, long lasting, easy take down. Last a month or more. Clarify and detox scalp, apply hair mask, rinse and repeat.
My hair hates heat and harsh chemicals now... only gentle care.
Before adding the marley, I coat with shea butter on my natural hair.
Single strand knots.... once ends are trimmed of split ends, protect / tuck your ends. We all shed hair.
Also, I greenhouse my hair at least 2 times per week overnight under my sleeping cap. I oil my scalp daily and sometimes spritz with water to keep moist. Chebe, castor, wild growth, biotin, rosemary, any oil used lightly after spritzing to lock in the water.

Wow! Amazing tips...will definitely try them out especially using Marley hair and the greenhouse method
I'll have to try chebe as well I've heard its good.
Thank you so much for this and you are right our emotions do play a huge role on how we treat our hair, patience is always the key

I heard that the mini twist is what caused the single knots. Do mini braids instead and see the difference.

Don't chop it off, trim the knots and do braids instead of twists. I get them a lot because my hair is so short I can barely braid it but I am on my way for better hair care.
