    It's cool that you play the Dbmaj7 over Cmaj7 because especially when played downwards melodically, it's the retrograde inversion of Cmaj7

    IMHO it would have been better to hear the "written" chord progression with your outside line. As it is, it's hard to hear the friction between the "right" chord and the outside line.
