Shadow Weaver was once part of an order of powerful sorcerers as Light Spinner (just like Vader was once part of an order of powerful sorcerers as Anakin Skywalker). Shadow Weaver is physically deformed just like Vader and is masked just like Vader. They are both also unmasked just before their deaths.
She actually is still pretty, I hate seeing some people react as if she looks disgusting just bc they absolutely hate her so much like stop lying bc u hate her 🙄.

Yes, she was manipulative but the fact was that she was also a victim of manipulation. Her current state was a result of having gained respect and power in places like Mystacor but behind closed doors, she felt and may have well been rejected and disrespected by her equals and superiors. She may have felt constantly judged and belittled and when she was one of the few people trying to defend Etheria, only to be scorned and rejected again, it drove her to a breaking point. Her only real problem was that she had a slight anger issue but her manipulative ways developed later and she felt the need to obtain respect and power because she didn’t think she could attain it any other way. Imagine how painful it must be to be cast out from your home for thinking of a way to stop an oppressive power, only to late find out that all those people who cast you out are now trying to fight against it when they rejected you for the same thing. It’s plain hypocrisy and it’s not wrong but it’s still going to hurt. Shadow Weaver/Light Spinner was never evil. She was genuinely misunderstood and took a wrong path. It doesn’t excuse her actions but even then, she showed a genuine care for Catra and Adora. We know that with Catra since Catra still felt a bond with Shadow all the time, desiring her respect. Clearly she cared for Shadow but her emotions were stifled and grew uncontrollable in the horde.
Was never evil??? She abused catra mentally and physically and manipulated many many people. She WAS evil. I'm sure all you are saying about being abused as well IS true, but that doesn't excuse her actions. She is like catra. Catra WAS MEAN. But she redempted herself. But likely for catra, she was saved by Adota and the others, and she actually made steps for being a good person. SW mai by die with a somewhat good intension, but she was not redeemed. I always trusted shadow weaver and knew deep down that she did care about catra and adora but had a difficulty showing it and in that moment she truly shows it
You can tho. If you weren't into a abused relationship (like not a love relationship, but it can be) you will not understand. Adora and catra were depended to hers abuser. This is called trauma. It doesn't go away that quickly. It takes years.... 😢😔🙏

Shadow Weaver was definitely toxic and abusive 100% . but I still don't understand how people can’t see the human in her . she had black magic in her which she before hadn’t have and she was literally working with light magic , she was a light. man her death was really sad, i never really liked shadow weaver; she did some pretty shitty things throughout the show and i never really trusted her even when she joined the princesses, but man the last time catra and adora spoke to shadow weaver they werent very nice, and turns out she was sacrificing her life for the two girls. even though catra and adora didnt seem to trust shadow weaver either, she raised them. and it was too late

What did you expect? Shadow Weaver was very abusive to Catra when she was growing up. Even when she became a teenager, she was still very aggressive towards her. Yes, I get that it was tough love, but at least deep down Catra still cared about her in the end and she showed the audience that she did while we watched. Like when Shadow Weaver got yelled at by Hordak and Catra tried to make her feel better. Or when Shadow Weaver was held prisoner by Hordak and Catra wanted her to figure out a way for her (SW) to be useful to Hordak so she could stay. Even in this scene! When Catra tried to get SW to stop before she got killed. So can you really expect Catra to act fondly of her when their whole relationship has been nothing but abusive? Again, Catra cared about SW in her own way but this scene put the icing on the cake because it was this scene that showed SW showing any love/affection for Catra for the first time ever. And it was the first time Catra found out that SW actually cared about her in the end. And the only reason Adora wasn't too fond of her was because she knew how she was treating Catra and she was just straight up manipulative.

She was thrown out just cause she had a different tactic on trying to defet the Horde. Shadow Weaver could've killed Michah and let Adore be cast away as a child.
Im just saying Catra was the reason most of this chaos happened and yet they so quick to make up.. took them less than 2 episodes.

@@tee9636 and you said "they" in your first comment. You didn't clarify who you were talking about. Plus, no one else knew of her sacrifice. Only Adora and Catra did. And it's not like she showed them any love until now. Why should the other characters matter? They may have not liked her because they saw how she acts. It's not like they were raised by Shadow Weaver. And I'm pretty sure they forgave her in the end anyway (Catra and Adora).

To quote Heath Ledger's Joker, "In their last moments, people show you who they really are." Shadow Weaver never let ANYONE see her without her mask. Taking it off had nothing to do with her magic, it was simply her way of saying "this is the real me" before she blew herself up.
