Well... He didn't walked that much, mostly he just balanced. For all the acrobatics we see him do, it's pretty believable. Back when I was a kid, doing that against a wall would give you a good grade in physical education and doing it without the wall would give you a passing grade (reason why I kept having awful grades in physical education... I just never managed). Most kids actually did it well enough.
