@@enzogeee the way I feel that its hinted at is the weakest is the rookie with the pink in their hair, then the blonde, then the older guy, then atomic. In this scene the older guy and atomic are the most adamant on how strong King is while the other two either question it or go back and forth.

Unironically though, call him a coward but he has the heart of a true hero. He faced THREE of the cadres (including BLACK S, WHO'S TRILLIONS OF BODIES CAN *INDIVIUALLY* STAND UP TO A CLASS HEROES, AND WHOS PLATINUM FORM IS FOUR TIMES FASTER THAN LIGHT, HOMELESS EMPEROR, WHO LITTERALLY HAS INFINITE ENERGY, AND EVIL NATURAL WATER, WHO IS EVEN DESCRIBED AS THE MOST DANGEROUS CADRE) , and even if he was scared shitless standing there, he still had the courage to be there, no matter how weak he knew he was.
The fact Atomic Samuray figured what King did, even if he wasnt able to percieve it, shows he is also a very powerful hero deserving his S-rank seat.

It's a little bit of a shame and a negative checkmark against Atomic Samurai that an S-class like him didn't know about the Dolzena-Bring Reaction. But it's all forgivable and I'm sure with a bit more training he'll be able to perceive it.

I had thought the joke with king was gonna be that he become incredibly strong when he passed out, so he was the strongest man but he’d never know. I genuinely love that he’s just gotten so much folklore that no one would assume that he’s a fraud
The thing is, regardless of the “how” if you keep getting real results, at some point you are no longer a fraud.
King doesn’t have super strength, but he HAS stopped countless monsters, assassins, etc. and saved numerous lives just by showing up.
At the very least he has a 10th degree black belt in bullshido and the fanbase has a VERY strong argument that he has a luck based superpower he just isn’t aware of. And their argument has only gotten stronger over time as he keeps getting into these situations and coming out the “winner.”

Wow, I know OPM fans are media illiterates, but these kinds of misunderstanding comedy are so common in JP/CN/KR lightnovels, webnovels, mangas, and manhuas that It is it's own subgenre, but OPM fans loves to pretend as if it's some sort of revolutionary story telling lol
I like OPM as much as the next guy, but the way kids act as if it's peak fiction is just exhausting to see. It's such a fucking overrated show in the west.
I know what you mean but this scene is a definitely a joke, and the whole show is a parody on superheroes in general, some of it at least.
I like OPM tho because it's not the cringe anime humor you see in your typical anime like Dr Stone and MHA to name a few, their humor boils down to: something outrageous happen and then you see some side character cartoonishly screaming at the corner of the screen "YOU SHOULDN'T BE DOING THIS OR THAT". A lot of mangakas can create great stories with rich worlds and write good characters but only a handful can write decent comedy and OPM its really funny in my opinion

King scared the apple so much that the Apple didn't realize it had split all of it's atoms. The Sword was so scared it used all of its might to not be unsheathed for the shear damage and destruction it felt King would have caused. This is reality. This is Fate. Just lift Bro.

This was incredibly well done. It captured the humor well.
The music kicking back in at 4:58 when King picks up the sword somehow makes this scene even more hilarious.
If he truly could cut that thin with a sword, he should be able to change the basic properties of the apple
Originally it was an orange until King sliced his way into changing it from an orange to an apple. And nobody noticed it. That's how powerful King truly is

Something ppl seem to overlook from this stuff is 100% of the time, Kings presence makes ppl incredibly insecure in themselves.
These heroes and monsters fight and risk their lives daily, yet King is so unreadable to them that their efforts just turn into a anxiety episode.
This is possible my favorite scene in OPM! Thanks for animating it!

I can't wait for season 3. I'm kinda glad it's been a while since the production has started and yet there's still no trailer, cuz that means that the studio(whichever studio it is) is getting the time they need to do their job properly. Season 2 was good, but it could've been better if it was just given the same amount of time as season 1 got.
season 2 opm still had better animation than 95% of anime's, y'all were just spoiled by season 1.

@@planesdominator they never said that, it's just a "leak" from a random guy. In fact the official OPM twitter actually refuted the rumors saying MAPPA is animating OPM s3. Ofc, there's still possibility of MAPPA animating it, but with the current load on their shoulders I don't think they actually took it.

in Atomic Samurai's mind he brute-forced his way into folding time with pure speed, he cut the apple before he cut the apple, so he never cut the apple.
Nah atomic samurai explained his reasoning very well. Atoms are mostly empty space.
He thought King's speed and technique was so ahead of him that he was capable of cutting in-between those empty spaces. He thought King just performed a subatomic slash.

King is really the strongest he just hasn’t put his abilities to the test
I like how even if King himself isn't powerful, his ability is almost on par with one punch man's. His ability the king engine is like that of chess where all pieces will move to protect the king when available, he has fate and reality manipulation powers without realizing it. And even without power's himself he inspires other heroes even at their peak to improve beyond their limits and never stop. Most just assume that he's so powerful that they can't figure out what he's doing, so even though they're strong enough to take down most threats themselves, by having King in proximity and being around him, they themselves are driven to heights that they never could have achieved alone.
