Playing devil's advocate here... Most people say that as a hypothetical scenario. My husband and I have talked about "If we ever (redrum) someone", how we would do it. However that's not something we would ever do... and most sane people don't. So maybe they believed he was just messing around. Never believing that he would ever do it.

OMG. My ex also put a fake profession on our firstborn child's birthday certificate, because he didn't want to write the truth: "unemployed." And, he ALSO would totally melt down if he felt he wasn't being properly "respected" or treated like he was the smartest guy in the room.

@@purplerain2314 Unfortunately these problems are systemic. It's not just about lazy policemen. Domestic abuse isn't taken seriously enough. Recently in my country (i'm greek) a young woman and her brother were murder by her ex husband. She had filed a restraining order against him and she also asked police for help bc he was threatening her. They thought it was just another domestic violence case and did nothing. One week later he killed her (and her brother who tried to protect her) infront of their parents.
She should of took him to the emergency room she literally said his rectum was swollen and had track marks between each toe like wtf everyone this dude came into contact with was just unbelievably dumb smfh
If my partner ever said to me “This here’s my room. You’re never allowed to even look into this room” I’d be on the phone with 911 the next minute lmaooooo

The worse and most heartbreaking thing about this whole situation is the poor baby boy 😢 he was being abused physically, sexually and emotionally. I just feel sick thinking about what this child went through.

I looked up Demetri to see where he is now, and apparently Diazien put him up for adoption in like 1999 or something, and the first one fell through, but the second one stuck. The woman who officially adopted Demetri wrote a book about what it was like to raise him, and basically said that Demetri never let anyone get close (emotionally) to him as a child, that hugging him was like hugging a board. She said that when he was 14, he asked about his birth father, which she told him very little (she didn't know much anyway). Later, together, they found out about Diazien murdering Girly. Demetri's only memory about Diazian was of him being fed in a high chair by his dad, and then left there for a long while. Which... I'm glad that that was the only memory and not something more horrific.
The mother who adopted Demetri said that she wrote the book (and the article that I got this info from) to let all of the women, who had previously taken care of Demetri, know that he was okay, even though he has estranged himself from her. He has a good job, he's in a good relationship, and he's doing well. That makes me feel better 🤗 I'm glad Demetri is okay after everything he witnessed and has gone through.

Honestly, such an amazing guy to get in between Girly and her husband even when he knew he could’ve gotten severely hurt.
I am Pedro’s daughter. My parents told Girly to come stay with them. That idiot Di came after her and when my father opened the door, Di pushed my father out of the way. I tell you, if I had been there at the time, I would’ve pushed that little piece of crap so hard he wouldn’t have seen it coming.
Wait what? The kid literally said “my daddy punched me” and that man gets to take him back? The kid had marks all over him and they did NOTHING? This is so wild.

I knew a man who was a super nice/great guy. He got into a motorcycle accident and got a bad head injury. He then ended up molesting his daughters and then shooting himself a few years later (he died). He turned into a totally different person after the head injury. 😢

we always knew my grandmas brother to be a mean man, and once I asked if he was always mean and she said he got into a serious car accident when he was a teen and he was never the same.

When you work for a bank, it is policy you have to call the police if an employee is a no call/no show. You never know if a criminal has them held hostage or threatened to help them rob a bank, etc. We had a girl oversleep when she was due to het shift and she was woken by police doing a wellfare check

There’s a woman, Maya Millete, from my community that has been missing for almost 4 months now. There are a lot of strange circumstances surrounding her disappearance, such as her booking an appointment with a divorce attorney for the Tuesday after she went missing, her husband essentially stalking her (gps tracker, monitoring credit cards, going to her work and telling her boss she isn’t allowed to speak to any other men, doing a “love spell” on her, etc.) yet now that she’s missing he has no idea where she is and seems to not care because they were “just roommates,” his aunt and uncle going to their house at 2:30 am the night she went missing, him being gone without his cell phone for 12 hours the next day, etc. I know it’s not a solved case or a cold case, but it’d be great if you talked about it a bit or considered it for the future!

I’ve been following this case! The police released a sound recording of a nearby house security camera. There’ were 8 sounds sounds that sounded similar to gun shots... praying for her to return safe.

Yeah it's very weird. There's a difference between having your own space and having a *forbidden room* - that's crazy. My mom converted my older sisters room into a craft room a while after she moved out and its her space, sure, but the rest of the family go in and sit with her while she's working etc. The door is always open for the dog to go in and out. My dad has a small workshop in part of the shed in the yard but again, we all go in and out constantly. I think it's healthy to have places you can escape to and do something that's just for you, but to ban others from entering... yeah that's really weird. You're hiding something.

This guy sounds just like my ex husband. I stayed 10 years like a fool.. but I thought I could change his ways. When he attempted to get a life insurance policy on me (without my knowledge) I saw it called my mom, packed our things and left. We had no place to go but we got through it. Life is so much better now. Please if you're in a mentally or physically abusive relationship GET OUT NOW! You cannot change him and things will only get worse. They will hit you, next day send you flowers. Things are OK for awhile but next time he won't just hit you once .. he'll send you flowers or whatever and the cycle repeats. Please please DON'T stay!!! Yes you might struggle when you leave but, you and you're kids if you have them will be OK and you'll get through this. It's better to struggle temporarily than to lose your life or traumatize your kids.
You'll be OK I promise. You've been thro the hardest part by being with a asswhole- leaving is the easiest part in comparison.

This story reminds me of the Romand family, which consisted of two kids, their mother and their father, Jean-Claude Romand. Absolutely fascinating story, would be lovely to see you do an episode on this!
***Spoiler alert!***
One day, the neighbour of the Romands notices their house is on fire and calls the police. The police find the bodies of the two children and their mother. In shock, the neighbour tries calling Jean-Claude, like "dude your house just burnt down and your family was in there, where are you?". Jean-Claude, however, doesn't pick up the phone, so the neighbour calls the World Health Organization, the place where Jean-Claude has been working for the past 18 years. WHO picks up the phone, listens to the neighbours story and is a bit confused. "Jean-Claude Romand you said? There has never been a Jean-Claude Romand working here". And that's just the shocking start of truly one of the most fascinating and weird stories I have ever heard. Every time you think, "well this is it, there is no way he can go on like this", and then the next unbelievable thing happens.
