There was never any suspension on bikes when I was young - you just stood up on the pedals when you knew a jolt was coming. But then, I'm old enough to remember when Thatcher was just an education minister who stole our milk!

Got this bike for £599 using a code. Took it on an hours ride on last sunday up some steep hills. To get up small hills no effort is required but for long 20+% gradient hills, pedal effort is needed but for a hill other people were pushing bikes up I could get up with a bit of leg work. After an hours ride up and down hills the battery came back with 1-2 bars left. Only faults I could find where: 1) I would have preferred narrower handlebars 2)Gears needed adjustment and for some reason mine came with a 8 speed shifter for a 7 speed cassette 3) Front brake did not bite as well as the back 4)Never had an electric bike but with no assistance it's much harder to cycle than a lightweight bike (The rear wheel does not spin as well due to the drag and weight of the hub motor) 5)It's quiet large as for me at 6ft the crossbar touches inside leg so feels like riding a stallion. They probably need smaller sizes 6) You cannot derestrict it and it cannot go faster than 15.5 MPH so when you reach this speed the motor cuts out and you either have to put effort in or slow your speed down. 7) cycle computer is basic so no odometer but this may be possible to change by swapping to the DZ41 instead of the supplied DZ40 (they sell on amazon for £25) Plus points are 1) at £599 it was very cheap 2) gets up to speed very quickly which can help at roundabouts 3) nice to ride especially when not putting in any effort 4) becuse it has a speed sensor inside the hub instead or a torque sensor it moves very quickly with little effort 4) mudguards and front light.

The kack of a rear light is just baffling. Whst an odd omission. A rear rack would be a useful addition too.
