Oh, this is just great to see. I can´t help myself to be proud, just because I´m Dutch. This is a really nice vid and it clearly shows how long it takes to get to the gates when landing on the Polderbaan. Love it!
awesome video! my dads a pilot at Finnair and i remember when i flyed to Amsterdam with him. Our stand was at the back of the Blue1. Great vid. Keep it up! :)
@dnhug danke für deine videos, dnhug! ich möchte später unbedingt pilot bei der swiss werden und so habe ich schöne einblicke in den alltag der piloten. weiter so! :)
Another perfect landing in an Airbus 320 for SWISS international airlines. I must admit that Amsterdam Schiphol airport is my favourite airport. When we used to live out in Doha, Qatar 80% of the time it was our hub of choice when returning to the UK. We would fly into AMS from DOH usually on board a Boeing 747 or a Tristar back then in 1987 then wait to catch an Air UK flight for the short hop over to Edinburgh Turnhouse Airport (EDI). The other hub used being LHR (Heathrow), not a particular favourite. No Air UK for many years now, but KLM have taken over the routes to the UK. Strange thing is that after the domestic airlines, KLM probably go to more UK airports than any other mainland European based conventional airline (ruling out Ryanair & Easyjet).
great video! Airlines can offer a 2nd service with meals and drinks for the time of taxiing. Last year I came fm DUS, flight time: 35mins only, taxi time was longer!
Great great video! Those little wispy clouds looked beautiful. Such a looooooong taxi to the gate! How do you know when to switch from GPS navigation to the localizer? Can you see where the localizer is on your flight display?
I've done this flight too many times...most annoying thing is the time it takes to taxi to the gate @ EHAM, anyway, thanks for these videos, they're really great! Wish I were in your position :)
Very nice! I think we shared the Dutch airspace I was gliding this day!! But 5000ft missed approach?? I though it was 3000ft with a radial 280 spl outbound
at 9:12 it really looks like you've found their 7th runway :P After Heathrow AP, this must the worst and most missed-placed runway i ever have seen. Why didn't they just build a gate on the runway you landed on :S As always, i love your videos! Thank you!
Several miles worth of taxiing to do after a very good landing. Must have taken a full 20 minutes from the runway that you landed on to taxi to the Gate number you were assigned. Just goes to show how huge an airport Amsterdam Schiphol has become. Don't get me wrong, I love the Dutch people and Amsterdam Schiphol is my favourite airport. I just underestimated how vast the whole airport premises stretches out.😱 However there's an interesting airport documentary by Sam Chui where he's permitted access to the ATC Tower at Amsterdam Schiphol and he's told that over the course of a typical day 80% of passengers landing in the Dutch capital will not walk out of the departures door I.e. it's such a massive hub for people catching connecting flights. Obviously Amsterdam, Paris and London Heathrow are the busiest airports in Europe for this reason.
@plllot Probably follow standard taxiing procedures. I would say 20-25 knots. People say that you should only taxi as fast as you can walk, but I think we all know that the pilots don't really follow that set of rules anymore! :)
@luiseduardo586 yeah , the runway where he landed is very far away from the terminal , when u take off at that runway , it looks like ur driving next to a neighborhood when taxing
Hello Neil! EHAM is from the icao airport code. The Flight management system on every plane is programmed with these airport codes, to tell the computer from where to where exactly the trip will go, for example. Here it was LSZH-EHAM. My best regards, dominic
@@dnhug thank you for the reply.👍🤝 Suddenly a lot of questions in my head about how a plane's autopilot system works and how it knows where each airport is start to make a lot more sense and understanding now.👍🤝 Sorry, but I have Aspergers syndrome which can make things difficult but in other circumstances can be pretty damn useful.😜
The taxi time at Madrid's airport is horrible. Once it took us about 30 minutes with engines running (queue at take off due to bad organization) from start til takeoff.
Welcome to the Netherlands Dom,
Great honour to have you here!
Another wonderful aviation video!
Oh, this is just great to see. I can´t help myself to be proud, just because I´m Dutch. This is a really nice vid and it clearly shows how long it takes to get to the gates when landing on the Polderbaan. Love it!
Great video, even with time lapse that must be the longest taxi i've ever seen!!
nice to see a landing in my own country once in a while fantastic one by the way.
No music, no unnessecary comments. PURE, that's the way i like it! Great!
awesome! I've been to the beachside many times and saw all the traffic in the air; nice view to have an impression from an alternative viewpoint
thx!
Finally I am able to watch your fantastic videos on the go,thanks to android!
Another amazing vid Dom. Thank you
awesome video! my dads a pilot at Finnair and i remember when i flyed to Amsterdam with him. Our stand was at the back of the Blue1. Great vid. Keep it up! :)

Great landing !
great video! Airlines can offer a 2nd service with meals and drinks for the time of taxiing. Last year I came fm DUS, flight time: 35mins only, taxi time was longer!
Beautiful video, beautiful scenery and a perfect landing.
But this is a taxi or a city tour? :-)
Its like the pilot is doing a fun drive around the airport :P
Great great video! Those little wispy clouds looked beautiful. Such a looooooong taxi to the gate! How do you know when to switch from GPS navigation to the localizer? Can you see where the localizer is on your flight display?
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! I'm so looking forward of flying myself :) I love AMS, love the controllers accent :D
Beautiful landscape :-)
Nice video mate! NL is beautiful from above! :)
I've done this flight too many times...most annoying thing is the time it takes to taxi to the gate @ EHAM, anyway, thanks for these videos, they're really great! Wish I were in your position :)

nice video! Crossing the cost and before the right hand turn to RWY18R the Uitgeestermeer is very good visable.
Tolle Landung, tolle Videos. Wieviel NM fährt man noch bis von der RWY bis zum Gate?
Awesome Dom
hahaha that´s true man! Taxi time longer than flight time :D
nice!!! liked!!! it's great!!!
Thank you. Schiphol is a huge airport, huh.
yeah my airport!
This a normale taxi time for schiphol! What was the date of the landing?
Pitty you did not include the dockingprocedure, but nice vid, esp. because one can see my house again in the approach.
super video, aber ich hab eine frage, wie viel treibstoff habt ihr nur für das taxi gebraucht?? XD
Holy cow, how long was that taxi in real time?
Several miles worth of taxiing to do after a very good landing.

EHAH is such a big airport :D
Great job !! ^^
Awesome!!!
Fantastic...=)
woo!!!! thanks for sharing! :D
just two weeks, and I'm sailing over the Ijsselmeer with my class :D
@sterlingman That is always when you land on 18R. It is called the Polderbaan and it is a drive of about 6-8 km, depending of where your gate is.
WHAT A HUGE TAXIIIIIIING
Nice!!
@plllot Probably follow standard taxiing procedures. I would say 20-25 knots. People say that you should only taxi as fast as you can walk, but I think we all know that the pilots don't really follow that set of rules anymore! :)
how fast would you guys taxi on such long straights? is 30kts too much?
Good grief, that taxi on the straight line must have been torture.
I love the airport .. and not only because i'm dutch..
please reply, please do a Dublin video they fly the A321 there too!
are you a real swiss pilot or you get the videos from someone ? sorry about the question, its because i have some doubt about the profession
Are you the pilot?
At least you've seen the whole Netherlands when you arive at the terminal... (-:
The new ''Schiphol'' maze.
Good old Polderbaan, AKA Amsterdam (West) :-)
@luiseduardo586 yeah , the runway where he landed is very far away from the terminal , when u take off at that runway , it looks like ur driving next to a neighborhood when taxing
5:09 small ferry... Close to the port of Amsterdam... used to live there...
man hes taking those turns fast lol
Sorry to ask but what is meant by EHAM?
Hello Neil! EHAM is from the icao airport code. The Flight management system on every plane is programmed with these airport codes, to tell the computer from where to where exactly the trip will go, for example. Here it was LSZH-EHAM. My best regards, dominic

@rashidfly116
its huge
omg
why did they put the runway so far away from the terminal
The taxi time at Madrid's airport is horrible. Once it took us about 30 minutes with engines running (queue at take off due to bad organization) from start til takeoff.
Btw, did you land in Rotterdam and taxi to Schipol? ,-) *lol*
long taxi how long was it
clouds filled with smoke :p
That was a VERY LONG taxi to the gate... You used more fuel on the ground than on the air... =P
@Mycatsnameismorgan his channel info: "I am not a pilot, i am a cabincrew member for SWISS Intl. since many years."
longer taxi ever!
play "The Battler Of Evermore" while watching this video.
Where? :o
@miguelsaez340 I've taxied to it before in a KL 733 and THAT took for ever...
I did this Taxi on FSX, ''Follow V V1 VV L E VA VC V............'' took nearly as long as the flight...
Polderbaan? damn long taxi.
Nice vid, but taxiing at 150kts is just reckless!! ;) haha
RIP TK1951
@7:05 Clearly visible place of Turkish Airlines flight 1951 crash.
By the way, it took my pilots like 20 minutes to get to the gate...
That runway should be made illegal. It's a piss take.
LMFAO!
well done dom! super vid! bitte schau auch mein CPH video an mfg
