- What do Japanese think of the most beautiful Azan???
I've been seeing a lot of viral Azan on youtube and today I decided to react to it for the first time with my friend Ayu !! I heard a lot of beautiful call of prayers while traveling in Turkey especially. But this one we heard today was exceptionally beautiful, I don't really know where this is or anything about this Azan in general, but we found it very beautiful and moving in someways.

Let me clarify why some commenters are saying we are all born as muslims. A "muslim" is one who submits to the will of Allah (God). When a child is born, by nature that child is submitting and following the will of Allah, and therefore as muslims we believe that ALL human beings are born as muslim. But as children grow up their family, culture, and society can influence them to become Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, atheist, agnostic, etc... And, we muslims, also believe that plants, trees, insects, and animals are muslim as well because they worship(in their own way) Allah .
I am a Muslim and when I hear the Azan every time when I have to pray it is beautiful every time I listen to it makes me feel safe and knowing that I have to pray I was born a Muslim so My family is very religious and I love it And I a Muslim. Plus you the guy saying the azan is actually picked to say the azan every time we have to pray they get a vote who has the most prettiest voice to say the azan

I’ve done some research only to find that the sheer number of underlying societal and politically economical issues they house is extraordinary. From the ridiculous suicide rate and the even more ridiculous work-life balance to the sky-rocketing divorce rates and the discrimination against non-Japanese. Some of these reasons may be due to Japan being a primarily Atheist country in this day and age. So maybe, just maybe, Japan isn’t such a great country after all.
Im albanian born as a christian ,but once i moved living in arab emirates ,abu dhabi i started practising islam 4 years already, and i was surprised of how peacefull this religion is and azan its the most beautiful thing you can hear.youre blessed to listen even once for a lifetime.❤❤❤

During Azan, the "Bilal/ Muazzin" covers his ears to focus on his voice just like your friend's guess. However, what you see is probably the "Takbiratul Ihram" , a procedure where Muslims will raise their hands near their heads while reciting "Allahu Akbar" meaning "God is Great", when they perform the obligatory prayers.
As for the translation of the Azan, each line (breath) that you listened to is translated into a sentence as below:
God is the greatest. God is the greatest.
God is the greatest. God is the greatest.
I testify that there is no God except God.
I testify that there is no God except God.
I testify that Muhammad is the messenger of God.
I testify that Muhammad is the messenger of God.

In Islam we believe everyone was born with "fitra" or innate disposition to believe in One Creator ... so basically, we believe that everyone is born a muslim (believer in One God, and then parents or society consolidate that nature or corrupt it which is why it needs cleaning .. it's also where we believe morality comes from, from this fitra )

They Cover their Ears like this to prevent any unnecessary sound or gossip to get into their ear and so they can firmly concentrate and elevate their recitation. And as all the lines have a meanings, they remember them in their hearts.

This is so because the Qur-ān says that Islam is a religion of "Fitrah" (nature) which is in tune to human nature.

Putting the hands in from of the ears and taking them off (while praying) is a gesture that mimics chasing away the devil from whispering in your ears while you're praying and pushing you to lose focus. The hands that stay in front of their ears while doing azan (calling to prayer) is usually done to help their voice bonce off their palm and reach their ears easily so that they can hear more precisely how they are doing the azan

Appreciated your steps towards showing love towards Azaan and Islam...by the way let me tell u in last year's total mosques has increased by 20% ...in 2010 the total mosques in Japan was less then 100. But now mosques in Japan is more than 124...muslims in Japan also has increased by 30%.

Basically this azan is helded in either Mekkah or Medinah , they literally take lessons on how to call the azan properly. Like don’t need mere voice . It’s like a whole another “school” .

The very second I saw her name 0:03 "Ayu", I thought she was indonesian. But when she speaks nihon go, ah no, may be her complete name is ayumi or something.
However then she says her father is from indonesia 0:52, man! So that name must be taken from her father's mother land! No wonder if she also say her nostalgic feeling 5:52, she must 've heard azan before, may be when she was just an infant. If she ever been in Indonesia, no way she never heard azan. I don't know why her father didn't tell her much about islam.
Anyway. We muslims in indonesia always give respect to Japanese people regarding your work ethics and discipline. You guys don't know nothing about islam, but you do things that a muslim should do.
How you work, how you respect older people, how you use your time, and many other things.

The reason of that is because it is the sunnah of the prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and also it is done for concentration of the muadin during call to prayer. Btw it helps you to focus on doing the athan.

I've been to the mosque in Tokyo - it looks like has been taken straight out of Turkey! You should visit on a Friday lunch when I went and non Muslims were also afterwards downstairs learning about Islam etc.
