    For what I understand the cork accent was very influential to many West Indian Caribbean accents.

    I was born and raised in Newfoundland and when I travelled around England and Scotland, in my backpacker days, everyone was convinced I was from County Cork based on my accent. They thought I was pulling their leg when I'd say I'm Canadian and I am not faking my accent. Funny, I don't hear it that way haha 😁

    My mother has the thickest Cork accent ever. They're the only ones who pronounce th as in thing properly. It's also tonal, which fascinates me. She has a low voice though, not like the stereotype of high voices.

      funny that you say that because I’m here right now in cCork and I’m from New York City but I live in California and we New Yorkers love to talk like the Irish and in California people don’t like to talk at all they’re not verbose I leave Hollywood out of it that’s people talking about themselves in any event they did come the day after we care where I was really in a hurry and I made the mistake of asking someone directions and I just had to I was going to miss the ferry and I just had to grab my map and say thank you very much I have to go and leave it was pretty funny

    Wow this is really intresting, I did my ancestry DNA a few years back and I knew there was always French (Hugonot) excuse the mispelling if it is spelt incorrectly blood in me and the DNA confirmed it and I always knew there was Irish blood in me too as my Irish ancestors are from Cork and Skibereen. Now what really intrests me is the fact I am 29 percent each of the irish and french, I didnt know the Irish and Hugonot was connected what he was saying they came over to Ireland now this makes alot of sense why I still have high percentage of both, even though my greatgrandfather was born in London he was concieved in Ireland so intresting, great video thank you for the info.

    I'm an American - I guess ya'll would call me a "Plastic Paddy" - my Dad's Grandparents came in a boat from Ireland, landed in NYC, made a new life. I'm a fiercely proud American of Irish heritage that has my family coming from Cork. ---- I say all this because, *every. Single. Person* in this video looks *exactly* what we think "Irish People" look like. There goes an Irish Gentlemen .... there goes an Old Irish Lady.... there goes an Irish Hipster In A Suit... There goes another Old Irish Guy... There goes a Regular Irish Guy... it's like watching a Documentary lol...

    • @Karl_with_a_K
      @Karl_with_a_K Год назад +2

      No one has the right to call people plastic paddy's. I can't stand when I see people do it. You are Irish American and no one can take that away from you, it is your heritage and your identity, you are entitled to it. I did an irish language course last year and there were a number of Irish Americans on it, and it great to see them connect with their language and heritage. Is as Éireann tú.

      @@Karl_with_a_K Thank you very, *very* much Karl! This is a perfect testament to how God works in Mysterious Ways - Just the other day, like a few days ago, I got a comment reply from something I posted years ago about something going on in Northern Ireland and an Irish person berated me, "You have no right to an opinion you Plastic Paddy!!!" etc. So ya'll can talk about the USA as much as you want but I don't get an opinion about the rest of the world? Anyway thank you very very much again!
