Text:
Come thou, Wisdom,
Gift of Winter--
Strengthen us to wait
For that which is to come.
Come thou, Healing Snow,
Falling from the highest height--
Blanket the sleeping earth
In purest white.
Come thou, Longest Night,
Summer's twin--
Remind us that joy
Comes in the morning.
Come thou, Ancient Flame,
Powerful and secret--
Kindle our hearths
And mend our hearts.
Come thou, Holy Lady,
Queen of Winter--
Renew us
Even as you turn the year.
Come thou, Spirit of Light,
Eternally born
To make all things new--
Blessed little brother.

Looks and sounds beautiful! It's like invoking the spiritual elements of winter (Wisdom, Snow, Fire, Snow Queen, and Light Spirit)!

I am wonderingbwhy all these composers and poets who make music and texts to this works, like the winter. Yes, this is a silent time, caused by the snow, and I wish that it would able to fall in Germany at winter. It was been very fewcat the last years because of the climate change. But, the winter is also a very hard time.
I think we write songs and poetry about winter precisely *because* it's a hard time. We need music and art and celebrations to help us get through it, and to remind us that "joy comes in the morning," that Spring is just around the corner. But also to remind us that, despite the cold and darkness, winter can also be beautiful, and we should enjoy that beauty while we have it.
Hi Clark! Do you have sheet for this song?
I've submitted it to a publisher. Should be available in a few months (before the next winter concert season).
Nice piece but why too much voice enhancement
Thank you! I'm not sure what exact processes or technologies they use, but I'm happy with the result. It's difficult to get a great choir sound with just a few voices--believe me, I've tried it with my own voice--so if they have to use a little technology to smooth things over, more power to them.
Why did the bass sing an F on bar 3 instead of the written D?
Huh, very observant, I can't believe I've never noticed that 😂. Human error I guess 🤷♂️. Still sounds good tho
