Thanks for taking this bullet for us! I feel OW keeps getting the short end of the stick with figures. A short-lived Hasbro line and now this. Ideally, Hasbro would've kept the license and done new figures, but would've also been very happy with Jazwares getting the licence and doing 6 inch figures or McFarlane working their magic.
When I saw this video show up on my screen I got really excited because I like Overwatch and I have only about nine figures of the larger size. But I'm so glad you showed the problems with this line. I can't afford to buy something I can't play with. I move my figures around a lot so I don't want to waste my money. Thanks for the review, keep them coming.
I hear ya and agree. Wanted to love these so much. When something is so glaring it has to be mentioned. Now there are ways that to help the issues. I think I will try and make a "fix" video for next week.
I wish Hasbro would resurrect their 6 inch line. They were pretty good, and I'd love 6 inch versions of this Reaper and other characters they haven't made like Doomfist, Sigma, Ramattra etc. Great review!
Figma is where is at with overwatch figures, i know they're super expensive but the great articulation, solid joints and paint job are really worth it if you're really into this game's figures, i have a couple and i'm just amazed at the likeness of them, straight out of the game
Really good review bro. Totally gonna sub. I was think of getting the figs for their accessories but we'll see. I will add that I love the designing on these figures as well as the fact they ever put details on the soul of the feet.
Had to take a double take when seeing this video. Had no idea these figures were a thing. Seems like more toy companies are dipping into 4" recently, which I think is a good move considering current oil prices. These LOOK nice (or the camera is just very flattering) and I like all of the accessories. The way the hips are designed is my least favorite way they could have done it, even if they stayed together.
Oh yeah, they do look great. I would be promoting this line like crazy. If Funko can fix the hip problems for the second wave, this could be another major hit. I looked at the character database for Overwatch and there are some great designs. I missed out on the Hasbro series.
Here its price is 20 dollars umh... I think they are beautiful figures inside the blister pack or just to pose them, but i thought they were bigger. Similar to the OW Ultimates, although those are better in quality and packaging and here their price is the same.
Thank you for posting this! Out of nostalgia, I wanted a Tracer figure. Hasbro’s quality was adequate but the face wasn’t quite right for me. The best one so far is Figma. For anyone looking for posability and quality, go ahead and spend the $40-$60 on a used figure. You will be satisfied!!
Talk about the phrase "they're pulling our leg off". Oh man, i didn't know about Overwatch figures and admittedly i wouldn't had cared much except for Reaper i like him the most and as seeing the thumbnail i just to check it out and of course as we could tell, these figures don't have the best ball joints which stinks. Even i was like: wait are there finally releasing a casual look for Reaper that isn't the figma figure at last?! And believe me i really wish one day i can have at least a 6 inch figure out of the default look of Reaper that i can afford, but alas, ouchies.
Very similar problem to Funkos FNaF figure line, which are almost entirely comprised of ball joints. It isn't too surprising to see these suffering from similar issues.
@@Cosmo-enjoyer If you bought any back when they first came out in 2016 they were not durable at all. Some cracked out of the box, it had a design flaw that they fixed with the newer ones.
Nope it's not just your figures. The Genji I have is also falling apart at the slightest attempt at posing, so are his accessories not sticking to their slots on his outfit. Personally I will be shaving a bit off the top of his thigh so that his legs don't pop off at the slightest upward movement. I will also replace those arms and use more articulated ones. Not good for their price for sure
They look really really really really really bad. Hasbro at least looked cool, except for the hands not being able to hold guns. The Figma figures and even the knock off Figma figures look better (granted they cost more).
Nice review, objective and to the point! I recently spotted these in the wild, running for 20ish bucks apiece... Couldn't stop myself still from getting Reaper, (don't crucify me💀) but I've been hesitant to unbox him for this exact fear, of having to deal with subpar quality. Was not expecting the legs to be so loosey goosey, but to be fair, given the state of modern day action figures and the fact many are being produced on the cheap, I'd rather have legs popping in and out than legs that snap off irreparably..? Oh well. A display stand would have been nice with these tho.
You're a life saver! I had all three figures in the basket until I saw this video. Awful quality! What a shame.. I can't believe they got past the quality assurance stage! Nice company lol
I just watched your review again and it's amazing how many youtube figure reviewers shy away from showing defaults (especially loose joints), again you do exellent work.. Happy holidays
As a genji main( and lucio) Should i buy ow1 action figure lucio and this genji ( only for looks , i dont play with them ) or funkos figures ( these big head figures )

I really wish Hasbro kept the license to Overwatch. They did an amazing job in their 6 inch line.
They really did
actually genji's hasbro action figure was have a trash wainting but modeling and joint parts was really good
I don't think they were selling as well as their other lines.
They shouldn’t have chosen to do weird skins before the regular version of characters, I feel like that’s was a major issue
@@galaxyexpress9992 Funny, Funko FNaF figures have the same problem.
2:21 figures so good and accurate to the game that you can easily turn Reaper into its wrait form xD

Happy to take this bullet. Hasbro continuing on their series would have been great. Maybe wave 2 of these Funko figures will be better...
@@MacDowinIt seems they're not going to release the wave2

Thank you. Glad you found it helpful.
I had no idea Funko made these. I was kinda curious about these but I feel Hasbro did a better job with their 6 inch Overwatch figures.
These are brand new. I think officially out on the 14th.
They announced Funko was getting the license a year or two before the OW2 release.

@@MacDowin I hope I'm wrong, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Funko is... Funko after all. Not the best rep.
Understood. I believe they still have problems with the FNAF joints being loose.
Height comparisons was exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!
You are welcome.
Thank goodness i managed to get the bigger Overwatch figures especially my Reinhardt a few years ago
I got the reaper and genji with tracer on the way and so far I’m loving them
That is awesome!

I don't want them
I NEED THEM
I had some decent hopes for this line. At this point I just feel bad for Overwatch
I wanted to love these so bad. Funko either needs to improve quality or Jazwares needs to get the license.

Yeah, this Reaper figure is sick.
Not expecting them to be that small
Looks nice that figures but what happened whit the legs
I was thinking the Overwatch 2 figures realease again in the Hasbro line

Yeah, it’s sad. These figures look good too.
@@Cosmo-enjoyer Quality Control is the problem, some are decent but most have at least one bad joint.

I just got genji and his right hand is really loose. If i make hold anything it just rotates and its really annoying
