Man, I don't remember playing this game but there I am. Need to lay off the Ukrainian vodka I guess
Kyle you are the best that ever was. We’ll have to play a cedh game with you soon.
Has the cohost offer been sent yet? We all want it
Kyle Hill v Brian Kibler when
You can’t look like everyone Kyle lol
Was it glowing? ☢️
My dragons shall have their revenge...some day...
It was such a pleasure to have you on the show my friend.
It was a pleasure to watch the dragonmaster at work! Great guest.
Big surprise seeing you here Kibler. Keep it up!
They already have! 🤬😉
Glad to know a fellow larper has been here, i didnt know before this episode
Everyone but Rachel: *having a friendly conversation*
Rachel: *talking herself through her enemy's demise*
Spoilers. :^(
@@Jafooly2000
I'd argue not really spoilers as this was more of a joke comment and didn't say specifically anything. Also, just don't look at comments before the video if you care about spoilers.
@@Jafooly2000 ...watch the video before going to comments?? This isn't social media, LOL. You're on the actual video.
@@Smutter86 RUclips is most definitely a social media platform. Thank for the excellent comment, really helping me out. =)
@@Jafooly2000 no, it's really not. It's a media content platform with a comment section. That doesn't make it a social media platform, LOL. Stuff like Facebook, Twitter & Tumbler are social media platforms first and foremost.
Rachel: trying to announce her plays
Everyone else: laughter and chatter
Man that’s the hardest thing about playing sometimes 😂
At least they weren't like "Hold on, I wanna respond to that thing you did six triggers ago."
I laughed hearing her sit there and talk to herself while the others bantered.
It's the only way to avoid 3 hour games. I've stopped waiting for people to stop talking to make my plays. I'll still verbally declare my plays. I'll play some magic, if they want to follow along, they can. If not, crack on with talking about the latest disc golf trend or whatever.
@@dapperghastmeowregard I honestly hate when people do that cause they weren't paying attention or didn't know what a card did. On the other hand, I also hate people who play speed magic and don't give people time to respond.
Watching Brian fight his primal urge to flick his cards was a highlight to me 😂
And the Shiro sleeves!
That is why he lost first, the card flicking is part of his juju.
I was asking him not to do it didn’t destroy our audio through the entire game. My fault.
@@michaeldlynch Oh man... *flickflickflickflickflickflickflickflickflickflickflickflick*
That would be terrible! Thank you for thinking of that, and thank you, Brian, for having the self control to resist doing it.
Literally first thing i thought when i saw the name in the title lol!
I want like 40 more games with Mr. Kibler on all the channels! He has such great banter, amazing game knowledge, and does a good job of highlighting the other players at the table. If we could get dual Brians with the Professor that would be so much fun!
I want to see him without Olivia, though. I want him for once to be able to just play magic without being hated and without that constant chatter about “I’m not here to play, I don’t know what I’m doing anyway etc etc” ;)
To be fair, Kibler still probably has the same duals he had 20 years ago. Love seeing him on. Was introduced to Kibler as my favorite hearthstone streamer. Had never played magic. Years later, I play magic and he’s on one of my favorite channels!
You can see him on day9 channel, they play nonsensical magic decks for fun.
You should watch him play with Day9. It's hilarious!!
Actually the same happened to me lol
Yep he plays a lot of fun hot garbage there highly recommend.
Every IHYD episode with Rachel, is a IHYD episode that is 100% better.
She always plays the best decks!
She’s the best!
I love Rachel weeks. Every since command zone. Super crush.
Not only was this easily one of if not THE best episode, this also seemed to be the best rule 0 outcome. All the decks seemed to be balanced really well against each other.
No one lied about their decks! So it’s easy to find a balance.
@@IHateYourDeck That is something that I had noticed, but I didn't want to come right out and say it. 🤣🤣🤣
This channel is so much better off now, you can already see more fun being had at the table just one episode in. Lynch is an absolute beast with the amount of work he puts in to this show and yet every game you see the pure love he has for playing win lose or draw. Truly one of my favorite content creators (not just magic) and I hope to see the channel last long enough that his son becomes the host
It really is better!!!
I fully agree. Plus, it's always a blast to see Olivia. And Brian Kibler was really a gem. His experience and memories of the early days of Magic are incredible. And seeing such a legend of competitive Magic playing EDH is priceless.
I really want more of those two!
And another re-re-match against Rachel's Orvar! (He became my favorite mono-blue commander thanks to her) ;-)
@@Bored_Barbarian doesn't matter if you're minority or not if you're a dick.. but good job playing that card. Episode was fun btw
(I hope Lynch sees this)
I don't usually comment on videos but I just wanted to say that this truthfully was one of my favourite episodes of IHYD so far. I had wondered why all the intros had changed, then heard about the recent parting of Joe from the channel from reddit.
Honestly the whole production this time around with the sponsor reels, rule zero convo, and overall editing felt more professional and way cleaner. Big ups to you.
I also enjoyed seeing how fun and laid back things were at the table. That to me is what EDH is all about. Fun first. Cheers to you Lynch and this channel.
Keep it up!
I appreciate you!! I’m happy to be where we are. My mental health is better. No more drama. I can focus on magic with friends.
@@IHateYourDeck I'm very glad to hear. Can't wait to see more paper magic be played with friends!
Same here. The editing and audio were my only real complaints before, and this episode seems much improved in that regard. This was very fun and I hope to see all of these players back for more.
Is there anyway you could post the reddit thread about Joe parting ways? I had no idea about this.
@@twiztidloki770 they probably should have made an announcement/ update video on the channel rather than just on reddit
As someone who also plays Tiamat in his Ur-Dragon deck, I can confirm the whole "you always tutor for the same five dragons" with the retort "nuhu! sometimes I've already drawn some of them!" has happened a couple of times xD
We have a buddy that has a Scion deck who does the same shit lol. Can one shot everyone by turn 6 using the same cards every game. But that guy complains when we kill or counter his commander, and says we're targeting him down unfairly lol.
@@Joshbobjovi As long as he at least has to cast Tiamat, and not just make Scion into a copy of her :P (A pretty common mistake that her entering the battlefield is the trigger, and forgetting that it has to be after being casted :))
I usually "nag" about being targeted as well (in my group everyone does it while laughing hard and calling one another "Bolas" xD)
@@magnusflodberg6162 oh no he doesn't even have Tiamat. He just does a worldgorger/reanimate/buff combo and one shots with commander damage lol. I don't remember the exact ones he has we just know to kill and counter scion immediately or we die, and then he complains about not having fun lol
looking at getting into the Ur dragon scene, whats the combo with Tiamat?
@@ninja_gamer0843 My primary one (due to budget and preferences, I guess) is Morophon, Klauth, Old Gnawbone. Atarka World-Render, and Goldspan/Karthus Tyrant of Jund (last two depend on the situation of the game, might also go for Dragonlord Dromoka if I feel I need a bit more control).
Not saying these are the best five to get, but they tend to either make me win or lose due to the ramp I get, as well as the insane damage with Atarka on the field :)
If you can come up with a better combo I would love to hear it, to upgrade my own deck =)
I know many people have said it, but Rachel would be an insane co-host for the show
Sorry to see a partnership breakup but happy to see the show continuing. the change that came over the show, as the year passed, from hardcore game play to a a more casual lets balance the power level game play feels more like Lynch's vibe.
I’m just glad to have better mental health and to play magic with friends.
i honestly like it a lot this way. this was a joy to watch
Was it a happy split or no?
@@dillydoor no
@@SadBoi_1066 oh no :-( I wasn’t aware
Olivia's dentist should be sponsoring the show. That smile is radiant!
I agree her smile is the best.
Came here to say the same. Love that smile!!!
She’s great!
"Who cares it's COMMANDER!" I can never probably find a better sentence that sums up a format as well as that one. God Bless Olivia
This was maybe the most fun to watch IHYD in recent memory. Got to see decks do cool things, and it really feels like everyone had fun! There was spice, but in the most fun way.
We are so proud of season 2!
This was awesome. So much chemistry at the table.
I agree. Looking forward to the rest of season 2 and beyond.
Lynch flipping the Oona off the top of his library as a life saving blocker was a very epic moment. Definitely a great episode
Only downside to Phenax's ability is the creature needing to tap itself. Need some haste to go along with the "8/8 octopi assist"! Brian would have had, what? Four cards left? 😆 Still a great serendipity moment.
This episode has such different but more chill vibes than last season's and I love it! Especially the intros as I personally didn't like what seemed like forced hype in the last season. Looking forward to seeing you play paper magic with friends.
Yeah this felt more like friends playing commander.
Agreed about the intros. Didn't dig the ad for cash cards last season.
Rachel Weeks is my favourite person in the mtg-community.
Also: having a timer on your ads is *chef's kiss*.
Glad it makes you happy!
Why was lynch's sponsorship so dang wholesome? Even his voice sounds like an audiobook narration
Thank you. Cause we have great sponsors.
Honestly this feels so much cleaner, and so much more casual, compared to previous iterations. Big ups you guys.
Ngl, love the conversations at the start. It's very much what happens at my LGS.
It’d be pretty sick if you got on the show, I watch your food channel and think you’d make a really good guest for IHYD
@@franzmeno2070 I'm super down to bring some Mono Red shenanigans :)

Chefpk plays mtg? I love you even more!
Lynch seems a lot less dead-eyed and dejected in this episode compared to the last dozen. I'm not really surprised.
I’m finally free! No drama.
A lot less dead eyed... I just thought they were playing in a state where cannabis was illegal.
@@IHateYourDeck you talking without getting interrupted every time was pretty great.
@@IHateYourDeck Finally free? I guess I missed something...
@@ianross9475 how could you miss how awkward and quiet and one sided it was with Joe?
I loved this episode so much! This has to be my favourite one so far. Olivia and Rachel are such a blast, they truly make me smile... Thank you Lynch for being such a great host, this is fast becoming my new favourite commander channel!
Appreciate that!
Brian "Brian Kibler" Kibler! He's like the reason I started following magic tournaments. Best looking man in professional magic!
Also know as Brian "Don't call me Brian 'Brian Kibler' Kibler" Kibler
The Ur-Dragon and some Shiro sleeves, exactly what I would expect from Kibler. So excited to see him play paper magic in person.
I didn't know he played commander. This game was so fun to watch. Love all the guests but its always a pleasure watching kibler play.
Seeing Brian Kibler playing magic again warms my heart. I remember watching all of his old games during his pro magic years.
Great episode Lynch and team. Keep them coming this was extremely entertaining while organizing my collection :)
Rachel trying really hard to explain things
Lynch: "Whats happening"
perfection
the game not being over in 3 turns certainly helps. there was still some deck hating with mill, but there was actually a game rather than just watching someone combo off on turn and the other three players be like "well this was worth shuffling". kinda hope we see more along these lines- the guest choice definitely helped
The game did almost end by combo on the Bruvac + Maddening Cacophony, so it wasn’t for lack of trying…
Happy 2022, Lynch! Looking forward to how the season goes. But honestly, it’s great to see you smiling and laughing in this game.
Thank you.
This episode had great energy Lynch, seems like a super strong start to season 2
Competitive sweaty players: “Olivia’s plays weren’t optimal”
Olivia: “Screw the rules, im an Enchantress!”
no competitive players watch this.
@@ildlyn8966 Yeah coz all competitive players only play cedh lol. I have 5 tuned cedh decks with no proxies and about 10 casual decks and everyone I know that plays cedh plays casual too.
@@ildlyn8966 Hi
I mean Olivia had everything she needed to win, so she had nothing left to prove except that she is the only one who can kill herself 😅
@@nicksternyr8728 I think Approach of the second son would be easy do in this deck
I always look forward to a new IHYD!
Woa I didn’t know you were still on this channel lol. Hope you’re doing good!
Love Lynch and his energy! Great show. One of my fave commander shows.
Fun fact:
When you have an untap trigger like mesmeric orb, since no one gets priority during the untap step, the trigger doesn't go on the stack until the beginning of the upkeep which means that Olivia's Mirri's Guile lets her rearrange cards before she mills (though since she's milling more than she looks at, that would be pointless)
Any ep with Rachel is 🔥
This was such a fun episode. Everybody seemed so relaxed and chill and seemed like they were having so much fun - even with somebody playing a mill deck.
What an awesome episode. Olivia was a riot end to end, all these guests need to be frequent! Season 2 is gonna be amazing!! Big year for IHYD I see it!
Also cool note, command zone did a “decks I built and hated” episode and someone talked about an Omnath enchantress deck with that same goal of decking himself and he did not like it at all. Olivia clearly had a blast and enjoys the deck! Just a cool clear observation of how people enjoy different things
This game reminds me of those beautiful 3am games where my groups been playing for 9 hours and had a few drinks just hootin and hollerin. This was a treat to watch. You guys have a great vibe
It was probably 3am here lol.
Lynch was allowed to play his mill deck, Finally !!
Right!! I was pretty stoked about it.
Ah how I missed IHYD, now 2022 has really started for me, looking forward to all the crazy games this year!
This game gave me _SO MUCH_ anxiety. It felt like everyone had a loaded gun to everyone else's head, everyone had their hands on the triggers, and then they took turns daring each other to squeeze as much as possible without causing the gun to go off.
This was a great game. Everyone’s deck performed well and it showcased a nice variety of strategies/archetypes!
@@ryaninzana5640 And Lynch is helping the value of my eldrazi stay high :)
@@yomommashaus the bane of any mill deck’s existence
@@ryaninzana5640 I actually realized I don't mind mill so much when it's in edh, with more diversity and creativity in deck construction. I hate mill in current standard where every mill deck is 1) crabs, wilds 2) copy tasha...
@@yomommashaus in a 4 person pod, mill is likely to help at least one opponent as well since so many decks have graveyard synergies… or at the very least, most decks run a couple pieces of recursion…
Wall of text incoming, but I have to gush.
This might be one of my favorite episodes. It might even be my #1 favorite. I know that the lower power/more casual/less oppressive decks my go against the theme of IHYD, but I thought it was a nice change of pace, and is honestly more representative of the kind of EDH that I enjoy.
All the guests were great. I loved how unique Rachel's deck was and how Brian Kibler was playing big dumb dragons. Phenax was my first commander deck, as I too love mill.
TL;DR, Excellent content. Keep it up!
Kibler?! What a legend to bring to the show!
Brian has such an good personallity, great guest.
Love the new feel for season 2. Feels much more light-hearted and looks like everyone is legitimately enjoying the game and having fun! Keep up the awesome work Lynch!
I’m so happy with Season 2.
Olivia just reminded me of Zombies Ate My Neighbors. It’s one of those old games that has burned itself into my brain, with flashbacks every once in a while. Thank you for refreshing the name in my mind, it has eluded me for many years. The philosopher, Tentacles, would be proud. He has tons of lessons about loving your neighbor, zombie or otherwise
"I cast thought scour and killed a dragon." is probably a lot less funny out of context than I think it is but like damn it was funny
This is the most Commander game of Commander that has ever been played on camera. Absolutely loved every second of it, cannot wait for more of these!
What a fantastic episode! I've wanted to see Kibler play Commander since I watched him build his Ur-Dragon deck on his stream. This is like all the shit I like about the internet in one.
Got a link to that stream?
Yes I'd love to see the stream or his decklist myself
Really appreciate the ad timer on screen. Watched an ad I usually would skip through because of an honest gesture on your part :)
I don't really wanna go into the specifics we all know about and fan any flames, but I gotta say I am loving the new energy here. There were a lot of times I didn't watch IHYD because I just wasn't in the mood for the energy I knew would be present. I'm glad I now have another edh gameplay channel I can consider an auto-watch whenever a new episode hits.
Glad to have you back. I’m excited for this season!
“There’s a lot of different milking happening in magic”

Best commander content to watch!!!
Definitely the most laid back episode.
This is 100% my favorite episode of IHYD so far, can't wait to see more like this!
You got it!
Rachel Weeks & Olivia Gobert-Hicks a duo I love to see.
I loved this episode. Rachel is always fun and brings great decks to the table (main reason I clicked on the video in the first place), Olivia's energy is uplifting and contagious and Brian knowledge and class is unmatched. I hope you recorded more than one game with this crew, Lynch
I've watched previous episodes of IHYD, and I had put this on while I was doing chores... But then it became my favorite episode ever!! It's so colourful and fun! Absolutely lost it when everyone talked about making Olivia win
It's so surreal seeing Kibler, who I spent years watching play Hearthstone, playing the same deck that made obsessed with Magic. I really admire how well Olivia fits herself into whatever group she seems to play with. Lynch and Rachel are as always delightful to watch play.
I stopped watching last season because it felt like the games were always one-sided, but if this is the kind of energy Lynch is bringing this season, I'm here all the way. Rachel was my favorite reoccurring guest from last season too so I'd love to see more of her.
Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire’s triggered attack ability does not get around ward. It is “choose target permanent” so it is still a targeted ability so you would still have to pay 8 to target Octavia with it.
Yes, it includes keyword target and this triggers ward.
Brian name dropped the most amazing Nintendo game ever. Maniac mansion. Rachel is probably my favorite gal of magic. Big deck energy. Just flapping in the wind. Lynch did not wear a tool shirt.
This show keeps getting better over time. I like how the style keeps getting refined.
Petition to promote Rachel to series regular! Always a good time when she's on!
The show has a lot of great people that come on pretty regularly! It's why I keep watching
The banter and energy in Season 2 is starting off at such a high level already! It's a high bar to keep up!!!
This is what I love seeing in Magic, janky plays and fun with friends. This episode reminds me of the reason I started commander. Thank you for this wonderful game!
Absolutely loved this episode! Great energy, great people. Love how there's more talks of rule 0. 2022 starting off right!!! 🙌🙌🙌
Kibler: He could flip a flier
Lynch: I'm not gonna get a flier
Me: There's no way he gets a flier
Lynch: *flips Oona*
That's gotta be one of my favorite I Hate Your Deck moments, also great video overall!
I'll be honest, I wasn't wearing my glasses, I thought it was Kyle Hill in the Thumbnail, didn't read the title b/c come on, you see Kyle on IHYD and you just click on it.
Found out it was Kibler and knowing him I'm somehow even more excited for this episode!
This episode honestly reminded me the most of a group of friends playing commander and being silly/dumb as fuck for the sake of humor.
THIS felt like a homegame.
5min in, already love the vibe and the video editing is as usual on point. You are good at what you do Lynch! Loving this content mate
Thanks!
Woo the sponsors are getting stacked! Companies finally realizing how awesome of a channel this is!
As another hockey player and a Wings fan I appreciated your reference Lynch. Great episode!
Probably my favorite episode yet. Great guests, greater banter. Bring them all back, the dragons need some revenge.
Hahaha. My favourite quote from any YT vid in a while “I have such a totally normal and reasonable amount of mana for this point in the game.....my deck is not functioning” 🤣🤣
I cannot stress how awesome this series is. Out of all the EDH video series on YT that I watch, this is the only one that I see everyone having a great time AND I find myself laughing outloud many many times.
Y'all are killing it with content lately, keep up the great work guys !!!!!! Love the talking and back and forth, great convos great time
I had been avoiding this channel…. Glad I checked it out again! All that laughter is contagious! 😂
I'm an offical Olivia Gobert-Hicks fan after this EP, her attitude and banter at the table just makes the entrie game infectious to watch!
She has a Twitch where she plays on Spelltable a few days a week
Best episode yet! The table talk was great and so was the group dynamics. Everyone was comfortable and having fun, yet also playing at quite a high caliber. Thanks for the entertainment!
Love seeing everyone having so much fun. This is Commander to me.
Yes. This is magic. Fun with friends!
This might be one of the most fun games of magic I've ever seen. Awesome players, hilarious topdecks/flips, and awesome cards I've never seen before. Good stuff!
The vibe at the table seems a lot better. Excited for whats to come
Probably my favorite episode so far. You can feel the amazing energy just radiate from this episode
Yo, that free Lynch cooking video at the beginning of this video just made my day haha (combo of my two favorite things to watch on RUclips)
Hey use code IHYD16 to get those free meals!! At HelloFresh!!!!
Hahaha me too. I'm a chef and can tell that the man know his way around a kitchen. I would sub faster than a sandwich
Its really interesting how kibler takes a look at the card he exiles first at 23:20 to check for special interactions, I guess being a pro, you gotta stay on top of stuff like miracle triggers and you can never be too safe.
This is amazing: two of my favorite people of the community in a gameplay video. Just love Olivia and Rachel sooooo much.
"I have done nothing to harm you," - Olivia who politicked everyone against lynch in the first half of the game
This is what I always would have liked the Command Zone gameplay to be like. No talking heads no fancy animations and natural conversations.
I really enjoy every IHYD episode and even more when Rachel Weeks is a guest. I am excited to see where this goes without Joe but i def hate that the decklists are locked behind a Patreon sub. I get that Patreon subs help support the channel a bit more than a non paying RUclips subs but we watch all your ads at the start so feels a bit disappointing to not be able to see them. Other than that, it is such a fun show to watch!
We have started flying guests in, so a little support really can help us bring you great guests. Plus we have a world wide discord with people to game daily with!! You will get great benefits from helping us.
I learn something every time I watch her play
What happned with joe?
@@IHateYourDeck Couldn't agree more with the decklist being locked. I'd say that's the only downside I see in the show now that Joe is finally gone.
@@Twime. tough to really explain it all but if it go to the EDH sub Reddit there is a pinned thread on it. Long story short, there was a mutual decision to part ways
Brians shuffle shows that he was a magic pro XD
I love the juxtaposition of Olivia’s chaotic energy and Lynch’s calm demeanor!
Brian struggling to not fidget with his hand is my favourite thing
I love this energy, guys. These are the kind of games I love playing, and love watching, and it's kind of making me want to start recording the games I play with my friends as well. Amazing work people.
A small tip for Kibler counting his deck: Usually counting all the other cards and subtracting that from your 99 is way faster. I would know, I've gotten Maddening Cacophonied often enough.
I regularly watch these for tips, tricks, and just to enjoy watching people playing together and this is one of my favorite episodes to watch over and over. Never once thought of a Craterhoof's milk until I saw this the first time.
An amazing start to season two! Got the mtg power couple Kibler and Olivia as guest, and just overall feels so much better. Always great seeing Rachel at the table, and Lynch seems so much happier! Hoping to see IHYD thrive more than ever going forward!
Yes we will!
Great episode! Great group of guests, truly a Hall of Fame you have had on this channel. Hopefully you can keep getting, mixing and matching all these great guests!
Great episode as always, I adored the banter between players! (Would love to see another phelddagrif episode!)
I could watch this group play magic for several hours, so much fun!
