As a short time west ham from the states I will never fully know what the club means to the locals but watching these videos gives me a little idea. I love watching these videos about the club and how it effects people's life.
To a proper West Ham fan it’s not where we finish in the league. It’s about how we play and how much each player wants to really play in the claret and blue (not just for the wages)
Two years later … For me West Ham is like a leg or arm for me , totally necessary and I’d absolutely miss them if not part of me . Saying that that just my family , my dad my brothers , cousins etc tribal affiliations Last forever . In real Life West Ham always disappointing 😂the lows can be treacherous and piss me off majorly but them oh so few highs are fucking magnificent and far far outweighs the moments you wonder “ are we bloody cursed as a football team “🤦🏻♂️😂 So a long winded response to what could a a few words . West Ham are bloody annoying but I love them forever and especially at this moment a few weeks after our 2nd European trophy COYI ⚒⚒⚒
Nice one Sue, Great memories. You are right, as a West Ham fan it was never about the result, it was all about the day out that you had been looking forward to all week. It was a laugh all the way from the train ride (Basildon) with your mates, to 'Aving a pint in the Queens, to trying to get a glimpse of the players arriving in the car park. To quickly grabbing Pie n' Mash, then finally 'standing' on the terraces and reading the programme before the start of the game. The sounds, the smells, the roar, the atmosphere, it never leaves you. As a Old'un, it still makes me tingle when remembering those times! This one is for you Andy....COYI!....RIP Mate.
Love the passion you have for our team Sue. You reminded me of when my Dad took me to see Westham when I was a kid in the 60’s and getting passed down to the front of the stand by the adults to be with all the other kids. I remember Sir Geoff running straight at me after tackling a player and when he stopped at the wall, he was looking straight down at me! I was the happiest 9 year old in the ground that day. We won the game too. ⚒⚒⚒
This video just summarises everything that justifies why West Ham is different as a club to everyone else ..... It's not all about the results, performances, wins, goals, points, trophies etc it's about the unity, togetherness, community feeling, family feeling, friendships, relationships and kindness that is built from being a West Ham fan ...... West Ham is not just a football club, it's a family and Sue just explained that to perfection in this video so thank you Sue you are amazing 👏👏👏👏👏
No matter were I am in the world, being a West Ham fan you feel part of a family and I wouldn't change it for the world, supported this great club since I was 5. C.O.Y.I
What a wonderful video. Sometimes I wonder whether this type of footage gets shown to the players and whether they care. I would hope seeing things like this would push them on to great things.
Truly the greatest team on Earth . They are not just a football club . They are everything to us . Loved listening to all the memories you have & so admire your passion & unwavering support for the Mighty Hammers . Those two things are what fans of other clubs do not understand . It is Moore than just a club to us . All my best wishes to you my Dear . A True Hammer .
Honestly, what she said about wanting your team to win but it not being the most important thing in the world really has stuck with me. It’s so true now I think about it, as fans we take our passion too far quite a lot. The way she described the 60s atmosphere sounded nice.
Brilliant video, she speaks so excellently about the club we all love. Brought a smile to my face. COYI
