I'm an Episcopalian, coming back to faith after decades of cynicism and mental and emotional issues. As a child, I had been taught my faith in a harsh way in a parochial school and by an angry father, and so as a young adult, I rejected everything religious. I have bowel issues that just won't go away, and I'm through with doctors. I still deal with anxiety and catastrophize a lot! (Climate change flooding, plumbing leaks might happen, smoke alarms might go off, etc.) So I've been seeking a closer relationship with God. I've heard of centering prayer and will research it. I understand I must accept "what is", even though I may not like it, to start on the road to peace and union with God. I like what Father Keating said!
"Simplicity is the union of contemplation and action." Fr. Thomas Keating : ) I lived at Spencer for about 16 months in the early '90s... I miss it very much. Pax.
Helpful reminder during these News Days, during this Advent of 2024. Thank you for posting Fr. Thomas Keating’s message. The late Sister/ Professor, Mary Ann Flanagan, set the example of practicing The Welcoming Prayer and Centering Prayer when things got triggered while watching the news, which she called “Praying the News.” A constant “letting go into reality”. Social Action emerged from there. “Life is full of losses” (We are not alone in this) “UNITY CONSCIOUSNESS, a non dual relationship with Abba and what is.” 🕊️
Love this. I needed this. As always Fr Keating you get it right Giving ALL the glory to God. Thank you 💜💜💜💜

Yes, loving God in everything is the only grace. It is beautiful and precious. In doing so, everything will happen according to God's plan. 💛🙏❤
What grace?
@@tomlehr861 You can only experience grace because it is beyond words. 💛🙏❤
@@gottlicheliebe what is grace
@gottlicheliebe still don't understand
Excellent
Prayer is presence
Presence is silence
Silence is the Presence of God
