Same here. Worse, our bard has taken to trying to force me to write everything down for him because I'm apparently the only literate one. I've told him he needs to get a scribe, but he's declared that he intends for me to record his deeds and therefore intends to keep me alive at all costs.
Our only caster is me, a warlock who draws all his power from the far realm. (I refuse to count the arcane trickster because his int is like 11 and he doesn't have arcana. Filthy casuls).

I'm trying to work on a merchant/enchanter for my campaign, one that isn't gonna be grumpy dwarf no 37. She'd be in one of the Ten Towns after leaving her magic academy after being inflicted by a curse from a jealous classmate. Idk why I didn't think of making her a Tiefling as a cover for her being reclusive and only interact with buyers through a friend of hers. Tiefling naming convention might help here too (I'm very much an elf person so it's like a new thing to me) Thanks to you and your DM for having Koko inspire me.
I love here your stories and it helps me with figuring out potentials for my own party. I'm a new DM learning to ropes and watching these stories helps inspire me to do more than just give them an interesting story and combat. Absolutely love your stories and would love to hear more
This reminds me of a moment in a campaing i had where we befriended a npc and became really close with her. At one point a band of thiefs almost murder her and i went on a rage and took down all of a thieves guild beacause of that. Later on i told her i loved her but cause of irl stuff the DM never answerd me that next seccion we had a dungeon and my character died and she never had a chance to answer him back.
Now, I hope we'll get the story of the marriage as well, at some point. Or maybe all the dates and cute moments between the first one and the proposal now.
I'd actually be interested in watching the whole adventure of this character, bonus points for being arted up or even animated. Though I will admit "do it or we kill you" would've actually made me try and turn into the final boss just out of sheer spite for them. Now, my own Sorcerer is slowly going in sane from the aberrant blood in his family and our BBEG whispering into my mind, so I can't relate in game, but I DO have a party member who pulled some 'she's trying to prove she's better then herself for love' shit and it was GREAT.

Ho boy you better pray to your gods cause once I get to higher level I'm going to return the favor tenfold; unfortunately though you're a warlock so you can't do too terribly much. (No offense to you or your PC, it's just I played a warlock before and it was such a mind numbingly boring/unfun experience I almost quit playing D&D over it). Hope to hear more from you about the future of the story!

One of these omissions actually happened during my date with Cocoa, where Rhin caught sight of us while we were dancing and cast Lightning Bolt at us out of mischievous spite. Thankfully, I Counterspelled it, but this is just one example of the kinds of things Davrian had to put up with when dealing with Rhin on a regular basis (and I never forgave her for that act of random aggression against me and an innocent bystander). Either way, Davrian was plenty justified to hate Rhin as much as he did, but eventually changed that attitude after resolving his feelings for Cocoa and wanting to become a better person. Hopefully, this help improve your perspective of me.

Sorry to disappoint you, but my DM was not involved in any of this. This entire self reflection roleplay that I did was me talking through Davrian's thoughts on my own with my DM and the other players listening. Honestly, my DM didn't even agree with every reasoning that I made whenever I did this sort of thing. Heck, he didn't even believe that it was Davrian's fault that Rhin got turned into the villain (something me and all of the other players at the table disagreed with). However, since I often offered Davrian's inner reflections as insight to my character's motivations, he found it fun to play around it and that's why he pulled out the wind sprite to help me. Either way, going to have to politely tell you that you're incorrect in assuming it was the DM's influence that brought me to that realization for my character.
So after the previous video and now this beautiful proposal event with said Treifling, the next story is making me think that someone is an inhuman ladies man! LOL Seriously, I wish I was in a much better situation for playing D&D. Great sories so far!]:3
Because they are stuck with fiend traits and people call them evil demons. And when they are nothing but sweet hearts that just want to live normal lives (As far as D&D is concerned.) They need love too.
Some people like seeing good things happen to people who come under poor circumstances, such as Tieflings due to the choices of their ancestors. Tieflings are often strongly treated as evil or bad luck simply because of their heritage. Plus people like social dynamics such as Rich Girl and Poor Guy relationships for example.
Very lovely story :) It was great :) But the only other thing in the back of my mind was how this game was running? It seems like your doing a completely different game from the rest of the party. It seemed like you both wanted a different game. How was your DM handling this by chance?

From what I'm understanding I definitely think the party holding him hostage to save the changeling sucked and many comments point this out, BUT I will say that interaction where he pinned the changeling NPC and threatened to blow the changeling's head off for nonvoluntarily being captured by bounty hunters and then robbed equally sucked. Saying it was "a bit much" sounds like a massive understatement. I get the character isn't a hero but in my experience when players look for excuses to kill/abuse NPCs or other players for just not getting along with them it is a big red flag. In that scenario I definitely agree with the party threatening to kill a PC pulling that. The case after with holding warlock hostage is a lot more murky. So that'll be an all around big yikes from me.

However, I knew full well what had happened and was immensely angry she tried to bring harm to Cocoa and I. That's why I was willing to kill her so mercilessly.
@AndroidMaxine Well, our party lacked a proper healer and Rhin would often fill that role for us whenever she was actually there. At least, that was the metagame reason why. As for the roleplay reason, the party found her hilarious to have around, as she would often annoy Davrian just enough to break him from his usual charming demeanor. Their relationship with her was just different from mine. That said, I will preface all of this by saying that everyone at the table was very good at distancing themselves apart from their characters. My hostility towards Rhin, my fellow party member's threatening to kill me; all of that stuff was done strictly in character and we all enjoyed formulating these interesting dynamics between all of our characters over time. In the end, it was a great campaign for us to play in and we all really enjoyed it. Well, most of it anyway. All of those times where I nearly died were stressful AF, but... those are stories for another day. ;)

I Would of gave this Rhin the biggest and smuggest look to them for not only failing their attempts at murdering me but to also help impress the girl even more.
