    Thank you for the video which is the only one i found so far with such detail info. It helps me to prep (physical & mentally :)) for the future trip for one day trip to lake 2 .

    Hey Joe, I’m going to be hiking big pine in July this year. What time did you start your hike.

      Hi! I left camp around 7:30am. I recommend going early, the hike gets a lot of southern exposure and can make for a warm hike on the uphill climb. I've gone up there before with a late start (around 10:30am) with my teenage son years ago and with our packs it got too uncomfortable to make it all the way to the lakes. Good luck on your hike, the creek will be flowing heavy this year due to all the snowpack!

    the trout in the lakes are not native. they are wild though.
