I don't know if you know but you can change the refresh rate per app on the boox Palma. It can make it a lot more speedy on screen but the faster you make it the more ghosting you'll notice .

I agree! It blows my mind that apple hasn’t come out with an ereader yet.
The next kindle is rumoured to be colour, next year I think.

I was thinking this today. Btw if you play with the accessibility settings you can”reduce the white point” by increasing the level and that way the whites aren’t so glaring when you read. You can also make the colors a little paler by changing the color contrast and playing with the greyscale levels. I’ve made those changing and it has been softer on my eyes, I mostly use my phone but you can use change those settings on the iPad also. Now all I’m waiting for is a matte screen protector to help reduce the glare, let’s see how it goes 🤞
I find boox devices clunky from a UI perspective. I actually enjoy the UI experience of Kindle and Kobo because they feel hyper focused on reading.

I just came across your unboxing and I was excited to see you get it. I’ve been wanting it so much bc of third party apps and how small it is. but I have purchased two ereaders very recently back to back (kobo Clara BW and kobo Libra Colour) 😅
But I’ve been restraining myself since I can make my iPhone work for me by changing a few settings (reducing white point and changing the color contrast) and I basically can download so many apps and more. And having just an extra device… 😅 but yea I’m holding back for now. E ink is just so pretty to me in my eyes.
I also worry about the operating system outdated, idk if that is a thing.. I have never used android.
@@nat4465 Hello!! 🙋🏼♀️💜 I actually have since sold my Palma…. I didn’t use it at all. 😬🤷🏼♀️ I liked it but it could do everything (pretty much) that my phone did… but my phone was in color. 😆💁🏼♀️

I have a boox leaf 2 (which was less than $200 so less of a painful price tag) and although I love it and it’s absolutely worth it to me to keep in order to be platform independent… I do pick up my kobo Clara more 😆 I hope these ultra portable ones become more popular and the price comes down.

I like my Palma, though I have been using my Boox Page more. Oops! Lol. The Page was less money and even less from where I got it on eBay. It also has a bigger screen good for reading my manga on. But hey, that's why it's nice to have a variety to choose from. The flower letters sound really cool! 😊
To each their own! ☺️ There is soo many e readers out there nowadays too. Yeeesh! haha I’m in love with the flower letters. 😍
It's nice to hear your view on the palma! I am wondering if it would be good for productivity/study apps and timer apps. It could make a good visual timer/time tracker as you read. If you feel compelled to make a video, it would be cool to see how those apps and others function on the palma.
It is such a niche device and it fits perfectly into the lives of some and maybe not so perfectly in others. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, it gave me a lot to consider if I ever would like to get a palma one day.

I have a Boox Page and feel the same way, i dont regret getting it but i do find myself reaching for my kobo sage or kindle more often. i do enjoy being able to listen to music and audiobooks on it while reading though. Excited for the book club! 😊

Thank you for sharing your Pros and Cons. The price is a drawback for me. I am thinking about the white one; however, I was until you shared your Cons. When you said it does what an iPad does...yes, it certainly does. I think I may treat myself to the new Kobo Colour. Now, as for the Flower 🌺 Letters sub. I am curious to give it a whirl. I love it knkwing so ething like this exists. Cool. Remember when we used to snail mail when we were kids. 💕🌺

i love watching your collection / comparison videos and for some reason i feel like you would just resonate with the kindle touch. i found mine on ebay almost brand new in terms of looks and functionality for about $25

Mine doesn’t… 🤷🏼♀️ Maybe because I lower the backlighting before clicking screen off?
Check your settings because that may be the problem. My Palma’s charge lasts for at least 2 books which for me is 1.5 weeks.
@@thebooknookcorner1153 I will try this. Most of the time I don’t have the backlighting on because I read earlier in the day, but maybe this makes a difference at night. Right now my charge only lasts a few days and I have disabled a lot in my settings so that the battery will last. Maybe I’m missing something
