A realistic game that shows the harsh reality no matter people’s opinion is awesome to see, Ready or not is a great game that shows the dark side of this world, I just hope they go back to regular updates after 1.0 because it’s been a year since we had any updates.
It has indeed been a while since the last update, but I personally see 1.0, the official release, as a major milestone that was worth waiting for. Plus, with every update that has come before, I found quite a few additions/tweaks/improvements that have made me excited to finally play this game in a "complete" state.
I really don't care about these so called "critics" ever since they complained about all the maps with pedo themes. You are literally a swat team STOPPING sex trafficker's , cultist, terrorist plots, and pedo rings, but those clowns were calling the devs perverts and other shit. If you don't feel good stopping a crime, YOU are the problem and would probably be caught in one of those raids.
Honestly im interested to see how they handle these things. I think its always important to handle subject matters like this with care. And i think they are doing a good job with it. It would be a problem if they were like Lol pedo ring for shock value. Going into that child talent front was so uncomfortable and made by blood boil but I think they handled it well. I trust the devs.
Yeah, people criticizing it are just doing it for shock value and nothing more, they don't even explain the context very much and just give a mindnumbing and very misleading title saying "Video game introduces pedophee level" or something of that sort...
@@MXXR35000extreme? It’s showing the ACTUAL dark side to society and a law enforcement officers sworn duty, it isn’t extreme it’s simply a realistic view of the world
I'm so glad this game exists, I've been part of law enforcement for a few years now and this is very accurate, thankfully I never intervened on anything serious
I work in law enforcement and I’m an RSO with my department, trying to go full time on the team. I really appreciate this game not backing down from showing the dark realties of what we see out there. People can hate things like a school map, but that’s a bitter reality in the real world. I hope the devs keep on doing what they’ve been doing and don’t back down to outside pressure. With a game focusing on SWAT, there is an infinite amount of scenarios you can create and leave the game with a lot of room to grow and implement new things.
The people who gave this game high praise for depicting realistic scenarios were "ready", whereas the critics who criticized the game for the same reason were "not".
I believe the title "Ready or Not" may translate to "Ready to face the brutal reality that law enforcement has to deal with on an everyday basis or not?"
I'm on the side of Ready or Not's community that agrees with this. Ready or Not has always aimed to be as realistic as it can to what law enforcement officers go through. They don't only go to clear robberies, they also have to see the dark side of society. If people don't like Ready or Not's choice then I don't think they really know what VOID Interactive's goal is.
it's funny because games were always bashed for not being realistic, and when games finally DO get realistic, they get bashed for being too realistic 😂
I’m completely on the side of ready or not. I believe most of the people in the tactical shooter community can agree on liking gritty realism and also have the maturity to have it displayed in game. Exactly what this game aims for. Not every game needs to be “aimed for a modern audience” and have cartoonish gender neutral skins with pink guns. It’s ok for games to be aimed at realism.
@@spencethegreat38yes, I haven’t played the game myself but from what I’ve seen it is the type of game I’ve always wanted to see, just brutally honest and realistic
Had basically a toddler being sent at us as an explosives deliver person while in Iraq. It’s hard for me to get mad about derisive levels in video games because I know the level of depravity some real humans are capable of.
This is exactly the reason why I love this game so much. The devs literally DO NOT CARE about what the Public thinks. They're doing what they wanna do, in the most immersive, realistic and fun way possible, without giving a damn about how sensitive these topics are.
They also dont care about fixing their gameplay. They actuallyt buffed those ridiculous ai's and removed features, like eating bullets, tracking thru walls, and ignoring tacticals makes this game worse than cod on the realism scale. Should be are you ready for the terminator x john wick x 007 clones.
@@humzaamir181 well it's a realism shooter, obviously it's not going to be easy, even armor is quite easy to penetrate, and if it has to be realistic, they'll make the ai try to ignore tacticals.
@@humzaamir181 go to war and see for yourself, untrained people to untrained things. and even then their human senses kick in like the tracking through the wall is just them hearing your footsteps, ignoring tacticals because they literally dont know how to be tactical thank god, if you get shot by a gun youre going down more likely then not. get shot in your right arm? no trigger for you, get shot in the left arm? no gun period. eat a shot? youre fucking dead bro
I still remember that article that melodramatically stated that the player in Ready or Not was just as evil as the active shooters in it because they put civilians in handcuffs. The world is a little too soft, and the media is a little too free to share such absurd opinions portrayed as fact.
They obviously don't know how police procedure works. In serious situation officers have to do that so they sort out who is friend and who is foe later.
@@emberfist8347 but the issue does arise when sorting 'who is friend and who is foe' happens in the moment, and a friend ends up as a statistic. It's very grey work because as SWAT officers or federal agents, they are in many ways outside of the law as everyday people live it. They can make the judgement to kill, without oversight from a jury or judge, face few to no consequences, and sometimes the people who die were innocent or not active threats. It's self-evident that the government killing people without a trial is generally something that's to be avoided, when possible. And in these asymmetric situations with lots of unknowns, breaching with an element of surprise, and lots of firepower going in, innocent or harmless people can get caught in the crossfire or even be the victim of negligence, false suspicion, or the obvious excessive use of force. It's hard fact, but sometimes it's not the bad guy who put someone's close family in the grave, and it'd be insincere at best to blame the person being swatted for the actions of swat officers, as though they're tools, not human beings that act on their own will and judgement. In times like those, someone should be held accountable, right? But that doesn't happen, SWAT officers don't get prison, but we know they are killing innocent people on occasion, so what's going on? Is it corruption, like favoritism, or are authorities casting a blind eye because innocents dying is just a part of the business, and cutting officers loose when it happens would kill their recruitment pool, a genuine belief that the victim dying or being harmed was a necessary and blameless act where no criminal convictions are necessary? Sure an agency would never openly admit it, that's bad optics, that's bad PR, that'll cause an uproar.. But the actions they take in deflecting blame from SWAT officers and absolving them of the negligence that certainly must happen at least on a blue moon.. Does suggest something is going on there, doesn't it? That's plenty of evil right there, not like it doesn't exist because someone was blogging amount officers restraining people in cuffs.
I wish the officers in game would at least have more lines quickly explaining why they’re getting cuffed or at least were a bit more gentle with the animation
I literally LOL'd when you quoted that "they won't be apologizing".. GOOD. We have pilot simulators, farming simulators, why can't we have a SWAT game that simulates real life situations. This is hurting no one. If anything, it's encouraging some young adults to join the armed forces or police academy. Nothing wrong with adding realism to entertainment, it helps create awareness of what's going on in the real world. Bravo to the devs! I might just check this game out! 😀
it's because people can't stand being uncomfortable and facing reality. so as long as their bubble isn't broken they have no problem living in this sheltered mind they have created for themselves because they are too much of a loser to actually accept the balance of the good and the bad when it comes to our society as a whole.
Ready or not is a game that’s not meant for us to escape reality- it’s meant for us to face it. They’ve already showcased so many real life situations not a lot of people wanna talk about, like the “valley of the dolls” situation and the “lustful remorse” situation. What really screwed me over from that mission wasn’t the body count or the bodies of the paramedics, it was that the phones of everyone you pass by won’t. Stop. Ringing. My worst fear is that someone I know dies and I try calling them over and over again and they don’t pick up. Irl I get so paranoid when someone doesn’t answer. Someone else who has the same fear as me could easily go on a rant against ready or not stating “Don’t do it it’s too messed up” and all, but I’m fine with it because that’s the point of ready or not: to showcase and face situations people have experienced and faced before- not just from the officers, but normal citizens as well.
I don't understand how people just deny the fact that they're adding a school map. There are some exceptions and personal areas however they state many times they want this to be a realistic game. If people can't accept reality then they shouldn't be playing this game.
It's weird to me how video games are still held to this morality standard that Movies aren't for instance the Gus Van Sant Elephant is a fictionalized version of the Columbine High School massacre it was generally praised by critics and received the Palme d'Or at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival. But if video game depicts the Police stopping a mass shooting and has you playing at the "good guy" that's considered controversial, Elephant literally shows children shooting other kids.
Its usually because video games are still primarily recognized as a medium for only children. While there are heavy amounts of children in the gaming landscape. Its bizzare to rip into a game with the mindset "this is for kids". Hopefully people start to recognize games like this as for an older audience that should be taken more seriously as for what it stands for.
That's like saying most movies are for kids, because majority of them are made PG-13 or kid friendly. 2d/3d animation has the same issue as games in this regard. Both are considered to be "lesser" forms of art/storytelling and are designed for kids. @@ineedzemedic5810
@@ineedzemedic5810 I'd also argue there is this weird secular puritanism that is just a repeating cycle from the knee-jerk reactions of the 80s, 90s, and early 2000's. Back then it was the realistic graphics Mortal Kombat on the Sega Genesis would lead to kids ripping spines out of all the other kids in the neighborhood or how Wolfenstein and Doom would teach you how to use guns and turn you into an crack shot while being about worshiping Satan and Hitler. It's repeating again but they replaced the sub-group of a sub-group religious ideals with homemade cultural taboos and the 'yikes' factor. It's still people who would never touch a controller, much less this game, but now they can spread their messages from the toiler.
im honestly very proud of what they decided to do. Recreating harsh and morbid real life scenes in a game to raise awareness is actually very great. Im glad theyre tightly locked into this decision and wont back down because of public opinion.
it really shows that they care about this game and its message, money isnt the main motive which is just awesome to see considering most companies are entirely driven by money now

I'm glad that Void Interactive seems very committed to delivering a realistic experience. As you stated, LEOs have to deal with some of the worst situations humans can be put into. To try to make these situations more "family friendly" is to disrespect the victims and LEOs who are forced to deal with these tragic events. Excellent video.
they are also doing swattings and possible might even do a red flag high risk warrant. this game can offer so much insight into what goes on in these events. i hope they do the adequate research and make it as realistic and immersive as possible.

This kind of falls on my beliefs of not deleting any history we learn from our mistakes and if we shelter our children and what monsters run rampant you're going to be ill prepared
This finally made me realise why learning history is important I've heard the "we learn hisotry to prevent repeating it" but i somehow never understood why learning it would prevent us from repeating it You talking about being ill prepared finally made me understand that we learn what happened so we can prepare for if it starts to happen again
@@kitsune_gt It's also knowing how things can escalate and how they become. If we know what a certain thing can turn into, we will avoid that thing. A lot of things done in the past, people didn't see the downsides of it until it was too late, now we can assess something and weigh out the pros and cons before doing it since we've seen it done before. For example, colonialism back in the early colonialism era was seen as necessary and righteous. Bringing people from the dark ages to modern times, enlightening them with the "correct" way of thinking, improving their quality of life, etc. all while the host nation benefits from their tax revenue, manpower, land and resources. All of those things were genuinely believed in the early days of colonialism, which is sounds good right? The problem was, people didn't expect the bad aspects of colonialism. Exploitation, genocide, displacement of millions of people, famines, etc. Nowadays, we know that colonialism can cause all of that, and now we see it as a bad thing in 99% of cases.
And we are repeating history again with the war in Ukraine, WW1 started because some Serbian people felt that Austria had done wrong and that they wanted their freedom back, so humans will be humans and on sandwich later an arch duke is dead and all of Europe is at war, WW2 started because some of the German people felt cheated by the treaty of Paris (I think that’s what it’s called) so was hitler, human will be humans and one invasion of Poland later and Europe is at war again, after WW2 America and the USSR have an arms race with many smaller wars occurring during this arms race, The USSR dissolves and many countries get independence, and now today Russia wants Ukraine because they think it was originally theirs to begin with, I think you understand what I’m getting at here but yeah…
@@THECHEESELORD69 Ww1 was a lot more complex than what the Serbians (although it was one Serbian who lit the match in the powderkeg that was the Balkans) wanted and it was the Treaty of Versailles that Germany didn't like. And honestly I don't think even Russia know why they want Ukraine anymore. One moment it's a buffer state, another moment it's de-nazification, the next it's creating a landbridge along the northern Azov coast. This war has dragged for so long and Russian officials are so separated from each other politically and ideologically, that no two people can agree on a reason. But yea, that kind of proves the point of how if we don't learn from history we're doomed to repeat it. Time and time again, people forgot about the past, either voluntarily or out of ignorance and not knowing better. Each individual human on this planet should have an obligation to learn about the past and what humanity has done so that we know to avoid it or when to call it out and oppose it when it happens.
I'm tired of videogames pulling every single punch anytime they try to show the reality of our cruel world, I know this is going to sound very edgy but I really like the realistic aspects of Ready or not, no matter how disturbing they are.
Yeah, not every game is for everyone, not all games are for kids. Schindler's List was not a comfortable movie to watch either back in the day, but it was important. Hell the 911 calls from victims in the SWAT4 game briefings were chilling to hear also. Horrifying because it IS based on reality. Like Buffy losing her mom in the TV show.
It's not edgy, sometimes people need to be reminded that not everything is A Netflix documentary or a Marvel movie, and that reality is harsher than it is presented in the mainstream media nowadays
Sometimes games need/want to show the harsh reality of things (the whole premise of this game is showing the world for what it is). People like to blame games for "glorifying" violence and making it seem fun, but those very same people get mad at games trying to show the grim reality. Game devs can't win with some people. Make it seem to unrealistic and friendly, they get the glorifying argument. Make it seem realistic and show the world as it really is, they get the too dark or edgy argument. And it's usually the same people who make both arguments. Then they try go in the middle to appease both ends, and their targeted audience start to hate them for their appeasement of the two extremes. Stuff like this isn't for everyone, which is fair enough, some people use games to escape the real world or aren't ready to accept the real world for what it is which is fine. And to that I say, just don't play it. Some people like to see the world for what it is, and I think that should be allowed.
I doubt these "critics" will even play an average length after their "opinion" was passed, they'll just move on and find another something to criticize and try to influence on.
They're probably not even good enough to play it to begin with. Would likely just get fragged the second they enter and then bitch and moan bout the game being too hard because they want to go in guns blazing like they're playing COD.
I hate that RoN has a school shooting map where I'm the good guy trying to stop an active shooter, it's too realistic. Now let me go back to playing GTA Online where I'm literally a drug dealing mob boss, mysoginist, griefer, extortionist, torturer, mass murderer telling other players they suck when I kill them lmao
@@brightblackhole2442 what he mean by get bent is how the Nashville school shooter ended up, fucker dead bented like a folding door by the swat officer.
@@T3MUwU I think you missed their point. They're not saying "Pretend to be safe". They're saying "This kid could be dead and the game is showing it." Personally I like facing the dark. Dunno if the other person does. They don't say either way.
In fact, there is already a map describing a situation, which at first, made me uncomfortable: the Neon Club mass shooting. Maybe it's because I'm French, but it immediately made me think about the Bataclan terrorist attack. It depict the horror which can face law enforcement when they intervene on such scene, and in a sense, I think that touching such a feeling is a big point for the atmosphere of the game: players are more prone to act in a "roleplay" way.
The dance floor is is literally modeled after the crime scene photos of the aftermath of the Bataclan attack. It's based on Bataclan and the Pulse nightclub in Florida that was attacked, and the back half of the map is based on the bathhouse in the first John Wick movie.
And my first time playing through I was delightfully mortified. Game handles realistic subject matter well and makes you think, if you're an adult and not a games journo that is.
I appreciate the devs geuinely going out of their way to put thought and effort into something so sensitive as an active shooter at a school. Its a deep and scary reality and it should be carried with respect. The fact they consult victims and ask questions to get that down is really incredible. I trust these devs to deliver on what they promise. I hope they can and carry this philosophy with every situation they present.
As a college student currently writing a paper about mass shootings, I think a game like this would actually be more positive than negative for most. Especially after watching this video, the game looks way more serious than what most people might guess
@@Suffinex it still is irrelevant the fact that he is writing a paper on it. It doesn't make sense how he started the comment, he isn't an authority on the topic.
The game is rated mature and has been tasteful while also functioning like you would expect a game to be. I highly doubt its intended to target a massive audience. People need to realize that games are no different from film or books. They should be allowed to attempt to engage with these topics EVEN if they fail just like other forms of entertainment (entertainment isn't always happy or fun). Adults should know what they're paying for/getting into and reviewers/audience should relay how games could tackle sensitive issues better (in a perfect world). I don't understand why so many people jump to "that's too inappropriate" and want things cut or outright cancelled.
I full agree with this. The fact that the devs are trying to make this tasteful and handle a subject matter so delicate with care speaks volumes. It would be one thing if they just made a call of duty map in a active school shooter situation with cheesy one liners.
Love this game already. “We are going to get hate, it is going to be really sad to see the real events and horrors of the world, but we Will in No Way apologize. We aim to make a realistic game showing how rough swat teams and police officers have it in the real world.” Absolute awesome game. This game is goin places.
This game is awesome and it pays homage to the brave men and women who throw themselves into these situations on a daily basis. Those who contribute to making it authentic have honored those in the real world who have given their lives in this line of duty. They do this by helping to provide an indepth look at the hell that domestic warfare can be. If you ever get the opootunity to speak with a S.W.A.T. member make sure you thank them for what they do. Its a thankless job and any kind of appreciation can give that man or woman an extra lungfull they needed for the day
I've seen people get angry over a GTA IV player massacring a hospital, acting like he did shoot up a real hospital or something, I've seen people get angry over Andy and Leyley game for it's inclusions of disturbing topics in a horroe game, this is all nothing new to me, some people wanna bury their head in the sand and some just want something else to take the blame for them for their incompetence, in short, just go enjoy what you wanna enjoy, don't let the naysayers bog you with their dribble.
people also got mad at the scene where you shoot up an airport in COD, I believe the mission is called ''No Russian'' or that's a famous line from it, not sure but they remastered the game and still had that scene in lol

The 911 call for the school shooting was disturbing. I had this sense of dread when the girl started praying. This feeling amplified after hearing the shooters walk into the room she was in.
Like it or not video games becoming more realistic is the next best thing to real training. From flight simulation, driving sim, military, and police shooters all of these things can and do help educate people learn how these things are in the real world.
@skyraider87 Professional Race car drivers say that the Sim is exactly the same as real life as far as the breaking points go, and you can learn new tracks before you ever drive there. I know the Air Force has used flight Sims forever as well as airlines and NASA.
@mrj3217 well the Sim would actually be more difficult because you can't really feel what the car is doing in the same way. Sure there are really in depth simulators, but it's still not the same as the real thing

It is extremely easy to "offend' people these days, Personally i would not worry about it too much. You will always have some people who are offended when looking at a game yet when the same thing happens in RL yet it is far from their bed it is no issue.
Indeed, ignoring these snowflakes has always been the rule of the internet since it's inception because out of 100 normal people, there's always that one crazy. The issue comes from other people that turns ruining you into a business. Drama tubers, twitter drama queens, etc. There are people that get payed to make a big deal out of anything on social media, from bots, to trolls to even established influences with big enough following.

I respect the people who made ready or not, because they're not afraid to show the harsh realities of the world that the critics ignore and judge people who have the balls to portray these realistic and horrible situations.
This reminds me of something my sister said at one point. She said violence is never the answer. Being honest violence is not just an answer. It is also a question. While yes some times violence isn't always the answer, it is also something you should ask yourself a good majority of the time. Should you use violence or not use violence. Then in some cases you may say yes violence is the answer if there is no other solution.
The title of the game is literally 'Ready or Not'. It is suppose to put you in uncomfortable environment and depicting ethical situations for you to deal with whether you read or not.
I’ve seen tons of people call this game “copaganda” because it depicts law enforcement officers actually doing their jobs, instead of beating minorities like we’re led to believe is all they do in the Western world. Cops almost always see people at their worst, that includes school shootings. I 100% support the devs in their decision to ignore the hate and push forward with their vision of a realistic depiction of being on a SWAT team.
I mean even the community says that shooting first, asking questions later is the most rewarded way of playing, so they got at least that part down. Seriously though, people complain that the subjects don't back down most of the time making lethal force the easiest way of doing things, considering that swat teams usually don't kill everyone on site in real-life but that it's actually a rather rare occurrence for subjects to be killed, I'd argue that this game is not "law enforcement officers actually doing their jobs". That's also to be expected, considering that a shooter where you shoot only every 10th (probably more like 100th if even) mission would most likely be no fun. Yet you can't deny that the very fact, that the game depicts only the "shooty" missions further normalises the shooting of subjects by police and paint a picture of "all subjects are evil madman, there is always a good reason for SWAT Missions" This game is not about realism alone, it's about realism in a fun way and that's fine for a game but it also makes it Copaganda, I don't get how this is controversial.
@@Gwaziaswell it’s very rare cases of police doing something against the law. They are receiving criticism similar to what GTA San Andreas faced due to the sexual content in the early stages of the game. This is a common problem that many companies encounter when creating something, as the news often sensationalizes the issue without providing accurate information. I still remember the news coverage of GTA facing blame for people's reckless behavior, with news outlets attributing it to the gaming industry, as if playing a game could detrimentally affect people's mental state and make them more susceptible to criminal behavior.
The sexual content was cut from GTA it was left in the games code and some modders restored it. So it was controversy over nothing. I know how you feel about GTA because when the developers of Call of Duty are doing their jobs, there is one such controversy for each game which comes from misreporting.

This game should NOT have a multiplayer IMO. fund the single player to make the NPCs more realistic, putting actual humans behind it is not going to end well
It should be realistic because this game was meant to be the spiritual successor to the SWAT 4. If you want more arcade stuff? Go check out Battlefield 2042, that game is good now.
They tried doing the same with Six Days in Fallujah, some people can't handle what others have gone through but they need to find out one way or another.
Badge of honor. The best games to release have always received "controversial" news because those are being made by people with an actual vision and they want to make a good game. Unlike most of the trash now that's designed to appeal to """everybody""" and ends up appealing to nobody other than people who will forget about it in five minutes and say the next thing they see is the best thing ever.
Glad the devs never backed down or caved to the cancel culture.. its a dark story/world the devs want to tell. Also you still looking for team members for CO OP, im no expert at this game , but would love to play with like minded players that play the game as intended
I agree with you about the game, but don't for a second try and tell anyone that you're not a part of the cancel culture lol. You know it, and I know it.
I believe the concern some people may have is that facing serious topics through a game, especially in a genre mostly focusing on providing fun and thrilling experiences that aren't really ever meant to have much of a message, has the risk of downplaying those serious topics. To avoid this the game would have to very deliberately differentiate itself from other shooters so that the player can interact with it in a vacuum.
I think if the people complaining about how realistic this game is really cared about the issue they would have pushed politicians to actually make some kind of changes. Otherwise it's just attention seeking and distraction.
If the school level is an issue, could they not have it set up so people have to opt in to play it? I believe a warning page came up in COD prior to the airport level...
You have to select a level to play it. People can just not select it. Or just don't play the game at all cause there's already a lot of really dark shit ingame if people pay the slightest bit of attention.
@@CallsignWulf yeah, every map tells a story, if you look for it and pay attention, you can piece details together and you will always find something fucked up, swat 4 did the storytelling part better, but ready or not made it real and visceral, seeing a kid having an od is already fucked up, and with context you already can imagine what she was a victim of, but finding the used condom under the bed confirming it is a real fucking punch in the gut, the game doesn't glorify fucked up shit, quite the contrary actually
How delicate do people have to be to have a warning for every little thing? It's a SCHOOL mission. That the player can already choose to go on or not. That's warning enough.
Me and a few friends love the game but realistic isnt a word we would use considering theirs been time and time again where it takes like a whole mag just for an AI to flinch which isnt realistic especially if its a AR. Also doesnt help that as soon as you turn a corner they shoot the shit out of you even if they are facing the wrong way, they turn and fire in mili-seconds, the enemy AI are shit but overall gameplay and stuff you have access too is damn fun.
there was actually an armed robbery at Northern Arizona University just a day ago, kinda surreal hearing about it while in my dorm there, i dont know the details too much but i assume swat were called in immediately to assure the upmost safety and with help with on campus police.
I would love to play this game but I'm scared to purchase in fear of having to play alone constantly or majority because i can't find people to play with. Same happened to me with Insurgency Sandstorm.
I don't fucking understand people. The devs stated themselves, they will NOT apologize for this stuff. They will CONTINUE to show the reality of what a tactical team goes through. If you don't like it? Don't play it.
This is absolutely great for people who wants to roleplay swat scenarios as realistic as possible. Heck they should just make it as a complete swat simulator.
People don't seem to understand that there are horrible people that live amongst us and horrible things can happen to anyone, including us Yes, reality is a nightmare. Welcome to reality
There is no such thing as 'too realistic' when it comes to games that are intended to be kinda simulators. Some games, just like movies and books, are supposed to show realism and brutal realities. It's nice that someone showed it with attention to the sad details. This is not a glorification of violence - quite the contrary. The realistic portrayal of violence is intended to make you think. If I had to choose what is more harmful in the world of fiction, it would be violence in sugar-coated colors and without giving people the actual intention to feel what it actually involves. Experiencing this in the game gives the image of "you wouldn't want to experience or feel this in real life". If someone feels 'differently', the problem is not the games, but in a warped psyche probably long before it was installed. The myth about 'games causing aggression' has been debunked long time ago.
No UwU waifu skins and no XP and hitmarkers with cash machine sounds when you get a kill. People got so used to those pg13 "shooters", they can't handle an uncensored shooter with blood splatters instead of hitmakers, guns that don't look like toys, and maps that look like actual warzones. War is not fun and games and cringy comments by gen Z heroes... It is brutal and sad. It is OK for some games to show it for what it is.
Y'all are weird. Yes there's been criticism of the game, but in the context of reviews which also praised elements of the game but according to some comments on here that's "hate" for the game. Folks are oddly real defensive and acting like there's been "BAN THIS SICK FILTH" headlines about this game. The criticism is little more than "oof, this is a bit dark". I hope for all of you that the game lives up to this really quite huge circlejerk you're giving it here.
it may sound a bit stupid but there is this game on Roblox that was extremely realistic. It is called "Hellmet" and it's currently on private, there are some unrealistic aspects of the game, like a camera gun that can see underneath doors, but its very good. its a body cam game where you have to escape the building without being caught, and you have to do it in almost complete stealth, making sure to not alert the people who will call the extermination team, it's actually very fun.
Do you think they will ever consider PvP? Seems like a great opportunity with such a great engine. But I also understand not every game needs PvP and if PvE is thriving and you have a nice community that welcomes newcomers then there is no need to fix what isn't broken.
Well, y'know what Republican / Conservatives are all about - it's all evil and media should never show anything like a nipple, midriff, violence, or anything that's not toting the status quo.
people need to stop being children and stop calling for everything to be censored and just start facing reality. a game that tackles real issues realistically is a damn blessing in this over-pampered, ignorant world
A realistic game that shows the harsh reality no matter people’s opinion is awesome to see, Ready or not is a great game that shows the dark side of this world, I just hope they go back to regular updates after 1.0 because it’s been a year since we had any updates.

It would be a problem if they were like
Lol pedo ring for shock value.

I’m completely on the side of ready or not. I believe most of the people in the tactical shooter community can agree on liking gritty realism and also have the maturity to have it displayed in game. Exactly what this game aims for.

A “little too soft” is putting it lightly
@@orangequill1645 In a life or death situation with a possible shooter around it's better to be quick than gentle.

it's because people can't stand being uncomfortable and facing reality. so as long as their bubble isn't broken they have no problem living in this sheltered mind they have created for themselves because they are too much of a loser to actually accept the balance of the good and the bad when it comes to our society as a whole.

@@spirtheperson If you don't take the "LOL'd" out of context it should sound just fine.
"Many games make people escape from reality. But some games make people face reality..." I like this point
really well said bro
if you're getting paranoid about it irl, is it relevant/usefull to subject yourself even more to that fear in a video game ?
Hey, about the ringing. When the Bataclan attack happened in 2015 GIGN forces said that the ringing was the worst part.
Escaping is what causes people to be weak and fragile anyway. I'd rather have the hard truth, regardless of where and when.
I don't understand how people just deny the fact that they're adding a school map. There are some exceptions and personal areas however they state many times they want this to be a realistic game. If people can't accept reality then they shouldn't be playing this game.

"or be doomed to repeat it"
And we are repeating history again with the war in Ukraine, WW1 started because some Serbian people felt that Austria had done wrong and that they wanted their freedom back, so humans will be humans and on sandwich later an arch duke is dead and all of Europe is at war, WW2 started because some of the German people felt cheated by the treaty of Paris (I think that’s what it’s called) so was hitler, human will be humans and one invasion of Poland later and Europe is at war again, after WW2 America and the USSR have an arms race with many smaller wars occurring during this arms race, The USSR dissolves and many countries get independence, and now today Russia wants Ukraine because they think it was originally theirs to begin with, I think you understand what I’m getting at here but yeah…

@@SxnisterKingthey turn it into a some cutscene in an airplane instead of an airport like the original
Peoples are literal snowflakes, you'd have rampant internet memes like "those who don't know/those who knows" on a cropped porn and act like it's the most disturbing thing they've seen all day.
Listen man, this kind of scares me but, if a game can legitimately scare you in an emotional way, that’s when you know it’s a good game
The 911 call for the school shooting was disturbing. I had this sense of dread when the girl started praying. This feeling amplified after hearing the shooters walk into the room she was in.
That's a compliment
Like it or not video games becoming more realistic is the next best thing to real training.
From flight simulation, driving sim, military, and police shooters all of these things can and do help educate people learn how these things are in the real world.
Even if you don't learn the physical parts of it, you can learn the procedures
@skyraider87 Professional Race car drivers say that the Sim is exactly the same as real life as far as the breaking points go, and you can learn new tracks before you ever drive there.
I know the Air Force has used flight Sims forever as well as airlines and NASA.
@mrj3217 well the Sim would actually be more difficult because you can't really feel what the car is doing in the same way. Sure there are really in depth simulators, but it's still not the same as the real thing
@@mrj3217 yea but those are FAA approved flight sims and mostly deal with the instruments more than the flying. its all computers and what not. driving is pretty accurate but ive played a flight sim and flown a plane and its rlly not the same. its like when u live in an apartment and walk into your neighbors house who has the same layout. its familiar but you need to adjust alot.
I appreciate their commitment to realism and understanding the true impact of these situations on civilians and responders.
There should be a level with cops present and the situation has escalated into a shootout upon arrival.

There will always be someone complaining about someone getting things done, ignore the people trying to hold you back from what you believe.
The snowflakes thinks that by not having it in media it won’t happen. I assure you no terrorist is going to play RON and think “wow it didn’t include a school level”. The people that do these things are sick and don’t care about media or education or anything but their delusional puny self
I respect the people who made ready or not, because they're not afraid to show the harsh realities of the world that the critics ignore and judge people who have the balls to portray these realistic and horrible situations.
the more realistic the better and the more profit and more loyal community they'll get
This reminds me of something my sister said at one point.
Yet you can't deny that the very fact, that the game depicts only the "shooty" missions further normalises the shooting of subjects by police and paint a picture of "all subjects are evil madman, there is always a good reason for SWAT Missions"
This game is not about realism alone, it's about realism in a fun way and that's fine for a game but it also makes it Copaganda, I don't get how this is controversial.
@@Bobylein1337 Because copaganda isn't real. Cops are just good. Depicting cops in a positive light is just being realistic, not copaganda
@@Gwaziaswell it’s very rare cases of police doing something against the law. Propaganda would be this world where we all say police don’t deserve their place in society and they show very rare cases occur. This only happens in the US where racism basically only got called out for in 1960s. And rarely in other countries due to the cops ego.

They should give you an achievement if you wait around the school map for an hour before actually entering the building.
They would be so based, though they would probably get crucified in the process
"Almost Too Real..." Wait around the school for one hour before entering.
Sadly there is a bomb threat as well which was never even suggested in the briefing! Me and my friend were laughing our asses off about it just being in the objectives outta nowhere

@@OfficialInvictus that makes sense in a game setup but seeing how realistic it is, seems weird.
Honestly Props to Void Interactive for having bigger balls than most game devs this past decade
@@emberfist8347 The controversy made the government give their game an AO rating which is basically the seal of death. They needed to change it whether they agreed or not.
@@Soulfin So the ESRB made a dumb decision that is not unusual. Also the ESRB isn’t a government body but an independent non-profit body that is run by the industry itself.

Good for the devs not backing down. We need to inspire the next generation of men and women to be the heroes we need.
Its a game about the harsh reality of the world and what its like getting in these situations and taking down the enemy. Its an awesome game that a lot of people need to play to understand how difficult the job of a SWAT officer and police officer truly is.
The fact that the devs aren't pulling any punches just shows how much they want Ready or Not to be an amazing game.
When people ask me what I'm playing I'll answer "the most terrifying game I've ever played." The jump scares are unreal but so realistic. Makes you really think about how you approach a situation and to get through a map unscathed 1st try is nearly impossible.
It's realistic until laggs come in. Then it becomes hillarious to watch
Oh man, imagine if they did a scene like Uvalde and you had to sneak past the police because they wont go in.
What if, RoN actually works as recruitment tool for law enforcement. Genuinely could see some future irl swat ending confessing to be inspired by seeing this game, playing or watching their dads play
If i were to ever become a millionaire id help them fund a multiplayer. I love this game and thats coming from somone who is coming from cod and Battlefield. 2 different paced shooters than this but yet this game is so rewarding and teaches you how to use real life tactics and how to handle certain situations. (Rules of engagement) This game is just top tier. Nothing like the experience of Ready or Not 💚🐍
This game should NOT have a multiplayer IMO. fund the single player to make the NPCs more realistic, putting actual humans behind it is not going to end well
It should be realistic because this game was meant to be the spiritual successor to the SWAT 4. If you want more arcade stuff? Go check out Battlefield 2042, that game is good now.
This game has mega-potential
They tried doing the same with Six Days in Fallujah, some people can't handle what others have gone through but they need to find out one way or another.

Badge of honor. The best games to release have always received "controversial" news because those are being made by people with an actual vision and they want to make a good game. Unlike most of the trash now that's designed to appeal to """everybody""" and ends up appealing to nobody other than people who will forget about it in five minutes and say the next thing they see is the best thing ever.
Glad the devs never backed down or caved to the cancel culture.. its a dark story/world the devs want to tell.

I would love to play this game but I'm scared to purchase in fear of having to play alone constantly or majority because i can't find people to play with. Same happened to me with Insurgency Sandstorm.
There's quite an active and welcoming player base, I'd go for it.
yes. This game is very 'uncomfortable' to the cultural establishment. And that's the strongest reason to support it.
I don't fucking understand people. The devs stated themselves, they will NOT apologize for this stuff. They will CONTINUE to show the reality of what a tactical team goes through. If you don't like it? Don't play it.
I agree, it's a real pain in the ass seeing people who want to censor a game they're not going to play.

Do you think they will ever consider PvP? Seems like a great opportunity with such a great engine.
But I also understand not every game needs PvP and if PvE is thriving and you have a nice community that welcomes newcomers then there is no need to fix what isn't broken.
I’m pretty sure PvP is coming but it’s not prioritized at this moment
They said pvp will come with 1.0 at launch, but it will probably not be updated that much since the game focuses around PVE
The PVP sucked when Ready or Not had it. But they should focus on PvE first and foremost
