As someone who 1. Wants to start cosplaying and 2. Lives in a country where rain is a constant threat... sometimes 3d printing makes live easier. Also, F people who gatekeep.
Pretty silly to limit yourself. I use every tool at my disposal to create things. Especially if I can get things done faster. Like many of use we are busy and have limited time. But the truth is I don't care of others say. I am making the stuff for me, for fun.
