I listen to a lot of reactions, and this is the first I've heard this song being chosen. Good on you, man. I think I was eight when this came out. These guys were something else.
Sometimes when you hear these older Beatles tunes you forget that there's still some interesting things going on musically. Ringo's drumming is very cool and I like that because he often gets overlooked.
It’s great to listen to early songs by The Beatles and see how the music changed in only a few years. Their song “I Want You (she’s so heavy)” is definitely a song you should listen to 😎
The Beatles recording career lasted from 1962 to 1970. After they split up, all four members went on to very successful solo careers. Drummer Ringo Starr and bassist Paul McCartney are both still touring with their own bands ... now well into their '80s.
And that's cool, Ike, about Helter Skelter. Everyone on the channel realizes these are your first time reactions-it's what we're here for. But I think what folks wanted to help you out with is to direct you to the original Beatles/White Album track of "Helter Skelter". And, technically, since you just did Paul's version (he is the one that wrote the song), you still haven't heard the original Beatles version. So, if you were open to it, I'd say you still could do a reaction to the Beatles original on this song. I know I'd show up for it-but it's up to you and how you feel about it. There's absolutely nothing wrong with you not knowing these obscure details. In fact, it's what makes the show so cool-to get your perfectly fresh reaction to these songs-this is what brings people to your channel to watch these programs!
These early videos are so funny to watch... there was not TV station dedicated to playing rock videos back then, and this video wasn't shown on American television... so it was probably made for European or British TV... early Beatles songs like this are very underrate... each one is a musical adventure, and the Beatles seemed to evolve with every song... your comment about birds chiripin is spot on... Beatles songs almost always make us feel happy
A Tv station couldn't commit to rock videos because there were basic all non existent, not even a concept. Just promotional films and Tv appearances...these were made because the Beatles simply could not be physically constantly on tour.
Great to see you back, Ike, with another Beatles reaction! I am looking forward to this one! Ringo plays a very unusual drum pattern for this type of song. It was patterned off from the drummer from Ray Charles band from a song called "What'd I Say?" so the other Beatles called this "What'd I Say" drumming. And the fact that Ringo could play this style perfectly endeared John, Paul and George to Ringo's drumming. Also this style of drumming feels like a style back in the '60's called "bossa nova". It's a very unusual drumming style, but it works perfectly for this great song.
Nice analysis of the lyrics! I really like how you keyed right into that! You're my kind of guy, Ike, if you pay attention to the lyrics! You are going to make this Beatles journey very interesting indeed!
Just to clarify, bro-no one is upset with you. You've got a great channel and you've certainly drawn me in! I'm looking forward to your reaction to this great Beatles classic.
Sorry people yelled at you. It’s okay to let you know, but they shouldn’t be nasty. How were you to know? I love The Beatles and always enjoy seeing young people enjoy them as well.
Fantastic reaction! FYI...if you do Bob Dylan you really need to be sure it is him and not a cover. Lots of them on RUclips. Speaking of Dylan, godfather of Rap/Hip Hop, you might want to check out his rap song from 1965, "It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding). There's a great video from 65 "ruclips.net/video/mYajHZ4QUVM/видео.html". There's one from 86 you might listen to later. His voice had changed.
HeLter SkeLter is a BeaTles song written by Paul. It is on the White Album Paul will still sing it from time to time. He is in his early 80s and still performs ! BeaTles broke up in 1970 All 4 guys had successful solo careers
Yeah, not likely you are going to be dissappointed by a Beatles song. Not that they didn't have lesser songs. They recorded and released some 250 songs in the 8 years they were together as a band. So not all songs are going to be everyone's taste. But an incredibly high percentage of those songs are great songs. It's what makes them so special.
Ringo borrowed the same difficult beat pattern that isl played on Ray Charles' super record "What'd I Say." The very song that impressed the Beatles tremendously when he sat in with them because the original Drummer was sick. They started playing Ray Charles' "What'd I Say, Ringo playing the exact part on the record, looked at each other, very impressed . saying like "Damn this dude is great!!" Ringo satin with them often. Eventually, once they had a recording contract, the record producer said I can't use him on the records, we'll get a studio drummer Pete Best, their original drummer got sacked...he just wasn't good enough and really did not fit in with the band personality wise. The Beatles recruited Ringo from the band he played for, , and the rest is history. They just knew from dealing with him and paying when he satin, this was the right man for success. They were right.

Yes sir! That is a guitar! John Lennon opens the song with that feedback note-so cool!
Music history … first time “feedback” noise was integrated into the song ….
How did long did they last? Physically about 8 years, but yet, everyone is STILL listening to their music, so they are still lasting...
Heaps and heaps of innovative, creative unique, transformative music! Only 8 years, is insane, plus movies and videos that nobody was doing in 64
That's George Harrison on the opening guitar riffs. This is the early Beatles as a tremendously collaborative unit.

I’m enthralled with Ringo calypso inspired drum beat
They have lasted about 60 years.

The Beatles were together from 1960 to 1970. The band members continued to perform, having multiple hits.
10 years of greatness!
The Beatles were a band from 1962-1970, when the band broke up.

Back then, you had to make songs short to get played on radio, and catchy phrases to be repeated and remembered.
