    Fantastic video and blast from the past when it was fun being trackside. Never been here but we plan on stopping out there later this fall. Won't be as good as this video but still want to stop. Enjoyed watching and have a wonderful rest of your evening.(Steve)

      Use to be lots of great places up there Steve. I haven't been up there in years, and it seems that since they took down the code lines, it didn't take long for mother nature to take it back over. From Meyersdale, Glade City, through Keystone, to Sand Patch is the steepest part of the west slope of the grade, making for some great sound. Thanks for watching, and have a great evening.

      Thank you NelsonRR. Winter sure does have its challenges, especially in the mountain regions. But it is rewarding most of the times. Thanks for watching, and subscribing.

    Where does that track go to that has the caboose sitting on it?

    • @1jackdk
      @1jackdk  Год назад

      That is the Salisbury Branch. It runs a few miles to a loadout at Shaw Mine. It is a pretty steep grade coming off the branch to the mainline. Here is a video I got of a loaded coal train that stalled on the grade, and had no sand to make the grade. So they had to hand sand, while a helper crew watched. ruclips.net/video/_xhG1bm7D-Q/видео.html

    Any one know what that Union Pacific locomotive was?

    • @1jackdk
      @1jackdk  Год назад

      The UP unit was a GE C36-7. It was traded in and was picked up by Helms Leasing and was a HLCX lease unit here. Seen a good many on the CSX in this time period.
