Tbh, I think it’s very unlikely either side would be able to easily get air vehicles into their opponent’s backyard. Not to mention landing in Alabama, which would essentially be a self deletion mission. Russia (in my opinion) would likely ally with China since they aren’t necessarily on good terms with the US either. China currently has hypersonic missiles, which unless there has been new developments I have not heard of, the US has no effective defense against as of yet (to be fair the Us military is likely not showing all their cards for security reasons). If this still is the case, China (or Russia since I think they too have at least one hypersonic missile) could IN THEORY (and very unlikely to occur) hit the US with one or more that contains some sort of nuclear warhead or EMP (not sure if they’re the same necessarily so I’m gonna keep the separate for right now). But to invade the US? Very unlikely imo. They’d probably use the chance to gain more ground in the pacific (like taking Taiwan) and/or Ukraine. There’s no reason good enough to invade the US that I can think of. Plus you have NATO right at Russia’s doorstep, so good luck even trying to get NEAR the Us.
I can talk about China’s response because I’ve been in country for 5+ years at this point. Realistically, China would politely tell Russia to piss off because they’re not going to attack their number 1 customer. It’s bad for business, and there’s no money to be made. I can see them supplying Russia with weapons and equipment but that’s about it. However in the context of the game, China might do what you said but they wouldn’t risk the lives of their troops unless the mainland or Special Administrative Regions (HK, Taiwan, and Macau) come under attack.

I remember as a kid in Russia playing this game and thinking - damn this is fantasy, our army is nowhere near as professional as this one in the game. And how 100% correct, I was
Russia in video games: Literally brings more than 300,000 soldiers and heavy vehicles to the U.S. Definitely the greatest logistical feat in history. Russia in real life: It took 4 weeks to take over a Ukrainian public park.
Russia in media pre russo-ukrainian war: Yep could invade the US on Friday, turn right around and be all the way to Paris by Sunday while the Americans are still regrouping. Russia in media afterwards: you see ivan you put shed on top of tank and scary drone no longer scary.
Nobody has thought Russia or anybody could invade us, even when Red Dawn dropped in 1984. The furthest they might get is a couple hundred miles inside of Alaska.
As another person said, Russia is a lot like the US in terms of wars. They struggle at first but do much, much better later in the war. The same thing can be said for Ukraine. Don’t believe me? Google the latest reports in Ukraine.
Lol, just the title of this made me laugh. Even though it’s not meant to be a joke it was still pretty damn funny. Then the mission name, “Wolverines” that summed it up for me.
Russia in American video game: I will launch an invasion thousands of miles away from homeland and bring the greatest military to its knees. Russia in Reality: I can't take the neighboring village because it's 3 miles away from the train lines. SEND HELP! US loves to over-appriciate her enemies xD
And USA in reality: we can’t destroy farmers with sticks and donkeys for 20 years and running away like dogs from Afghanistan and after taliban took power in a few days
You dummy, US propaganda started talking about the “threat” of the Soviets back in 1946, which then escalated into the Cold War. This is how your propaganda has been justifying huge expenditures on the military budget and the presence of military bases around the world for 70 years.

I honestly find it funny that people still believe that Russia could pull this off even after Russia losing so much in Ukraine with little to show for the losses
Thats because at the time, the best references we had for modern Russian military performance was Chechnya and Georgia... that is to say, Russia absolutely ruined them. Now, while the US is of course way more built than twenty of those put together, we still saw Russia as this unholy force of nature on the battlefield because of how little they fucked around in the 00's.

They really wanted to justify Russia being able to invade the East Coast but couldn't provide an explanation for how the entire Russian navy could sail past Iceland and the UK without being seen. I mean, physically seen by any of the hundreds of commercial vessels sailing in those waters. At least Red Dawn worked hard to come up with a semi-plausible scenario for the USSR to invade.
Maybe if they have cloaking tech. But that would required refueling mid air while transporting the supplies and soldiers.... So tbey need a continental aircraft that can reach the US coast without refueling. Second, a cloaking device to mask the vehicle until they reach the US state to where they plan to land. Third, make sure they have numerous of this aircraft, otherwise...
The Ural was an asset carried over from CoD4 I believe, they were probably too lazy to make a different model. As for the BTR...idk. They probably thought it looked cooler. Maybe it could be justified by saying they captured an airfield already.
Yes, invading America so easily is cartoony in retrospect. However, as an eleven year old when MW2 came out in 2009, this scared me to death. The voice acting was top tier in this game. “THEY’RE EVERYWHERE!!!” still sends the chills down my spine.
If the war in Ukraine is anything to go by, it's that Russia wouldn't have anywhere near the capability we see in this video XD If Russians have struggled to overtake Ukraine in 2 years, imagine the losses and difficulty they'd face facing off with an actual prepared and heavily armed American military force
Man I miss when they strived for these crazy, almost apocalyptic massive setpieces. Now all we get is 3rd world places and counter terrorism for like what feels like a decade. the juxtaposition of pure americana with this combined arms war stuff is so sick
So, here's the deal with Russia’s slow roll in Ukraine. Their military doctrine is all about hitting strategic targets and keeping civilian casualties to a minimum. They’re not going for the shock and awe approach, ya know? Russia is super careful, aiming at military spots, not just bombing everything in sight. This takes time. Saving civilians is a biggie for them. They advance slowly to avoid hurting innocent folks. Russia sees NATO in Ukraine like the US would see Russian bases in Texas. Freak-out levels would be off the charts, and the US would probably react hardcore. US tactics go big, go fast, and collateral damage happens. Russian tactics are slow and steady, keeping civilians safe. Russia’s playing the long game, balancing military goals and keeping non-combatants safe, making the whole thing drag on

As much as I loved mw2 I will tell you that even if Russia did manage to land in the United States, they would not only need to be ready for our military but also the civilians who own weapons as well. Keep this in mind there are 333 million people who live in the US, and there are 393 million civilian owned firearms. Dont think for a second that civilians won't arm themselves to defend the country.
And those civilians with no combat experience will be gunned down in droves, making it much easier for an invader to assert control. Handguns and shotguns (the majority of firearms owned in the States) cannot defeat soldiers. That's why in Red Dawn, the Wolverines quickly switch to using Russian military weapons.

China and Russia don't like each other.
This has aged liked milk 😂

Dummy, Ivan’s influence is so great that even side-faced Jews install exactly the same awnings for themselves?
Back when we thought Russia was capable of invading the US but in reality they’ve been struggling to invade Ukraine for the last 2 years
Nobody has thought Russia or anybody could invade us, even when Red Dawn dropped in 1984.
I hope Roach will be introduced in MW4. As well as Ramirez. They such badass characters in this game.

The good old days back when we thought Russia would actually be a threat
Russia in American video game: I will launch an invasion thousands of miles away from homeland and bring the greatest military to its knees.
Russia in Reality: I can't take the neighboring village because it's 3 miles away from the train lines. SEND HELP!

Somehow. Russia fly pass Europe to USA without getting detected by Europe.
europe's on the team😎
Maybe if they have cloaking tech. But that would required refueling mid air while transporting the supplies and soldiers....
So tbey need a continental aircraft that can reach the US coast without refueling. Second, a cloaking device to mask the vehicle until they reach the US state to where they plan to land.
Third, make sure they have numerous of this aircraft, otherwise...
This is so improbable that its funny. Cool campaign though.

I will tell you that even if Russia did manage to land in the United States, they would not only need to be ready for our military but also the civilians who own weapons as well.
