For eg today at therapy I was regressed to a traumatic event in childhood I didn't know happened then I went there (mentally as an adult me) and rescued her and hugged her, loved her, emerged her into my soul and then was bought round. She's no longer alone and traumatised. It was obvs more detailed but I've done it with much more traumatised parts and I've stopped having seizures and all sorts.

About the part of alters aging at will, I don’t have articles but I have experience.
The one born with the body got stuck at the age of 10 (when the trauma happened), she stayed like that for a long time, but recently started to age, she isn’t 11 now, she jumped straight to 13 (the age when another traumatic event happened).
What is going on in this case is that she, maybe, moved on from that time of her life, she already accepted what happened and is ready to continue with her life. Now that she is 13 is going to have to deal with the memories of that age.
Our theory is that, maybe, some alters decide to age because they see aging as a way to say “the past stays in the past” and they are ready to leave that behind; yes, that can still be affected by it, but they are no longer locked in that moment of their life.
We have another little who ages normally (he’s now 10). He decided to keep aging like any normal person because he says is the best thing to do so he can evolve as a person, become stronger and be ready for the things he’ll have to front, he says he won’t be able to face problems in life if he stays the same age 🤷🏻‍♀️
The rest of us age normally, but I thought it would be nice to talk about those two.
Amazing video btw, very informative, I understand my littles a bit better now 💕 I would like to know about older alters, how someone can have an alter older than the body and why they exist, the majority of us are older than the body and it makes me curious to know why

First off, thank you thank you thank you for establishing that littles can do things like use long words, understand complex ideas, and other things that biological children cannot. One of our littles, Kara, can speak in a university level classroom and the only noticeable difference is that she pitches her voice a little higher and enunciates in a sort of childlike way.
While we were watching this, I realized that one of our littles is "the perfect child" which I honestly had no idea was a thing until I watched this.
Honestly just thank you for this entire video, we love you.

We have an alter who was never born.. in other words still a fetus. it confused us at first as how could we split in the womb? but it turned out that the reason she is there is... one of us made the statement more than once "I wish I had never been born!" thus... our mind split to create a sense of self that had never been born. I guess that was how some of us felt would be a safer way to be? She's still there, never talks, never fronts, but we can see her in the inside world.

In a really weird way, I can maybe kind of understand all of this. I’m currently 22, but I had cancer when I was 13, and only in the last year or two have finally unlocked some (though in no way all) memories from those couple years in treatment. As a singleton, at 13/14 years old, I had memories and emotions blocked; and when I worked on processing through that time, those specific memories and emotions were stuck at 13/14 years old. So in no way can I assume to be able to relate to DID. But trauma in anyone is a powerful event that the brain is just trying to cope with.

Going to high school used to be a struggle due to the host pushing all our alters back. But now that our friends are aware and accept our mental issue they've helped us when switching alters. We have a couple of interesting alters in the aging sense. We have one 4 year old who can't write or read properly, but he often fronts to do chores and he often also cleans the house a lot. We also have me, the host, I'm 2 years older than the body, and I'm male. Always have been 2 years older, that I know of. And then I have my brother, who ages absolutely weirdly. 2 years ago he was 20, he stayed 20 for a year, then suddenly turned 23, and he's now 24. We still don't know what causes him, or any of us, to have these age differences, but I do think that my age specifically was because of the thought (which the alter born in the body had often) "If I was an older boy it would all be better and I'd be okay"
As for the little being 4 there's a theory that since most of our trauma started as a toddler/small child, and since a lot of it was brought on by a parent, he took on all the responsibilities at that age, to never anger said parent.

Chloe and the rest of the DissociaDID system: thank you so much for all of your hard work and education you have been providing the past year. I am a mental health social worker/psychotherapist and learned more about DID after binge-watching a ton of your videos this past weekend than I did in my BA in Psychology and MSW. You (collectively) are so wonderful for putting your system out there for everyone to see. Thank you thank you thank you!

I was in my room reading when my little decided to come more to the front then she normally does. We were still reading except at an extremely slow pace and it got so tedious that we stopped and my little once again retreated. Another time I was letting my little watch her first Disney movie (Pinocchio) and talk to my best friend (who she calls big brother, she doesn't know that we have an actual big brother due to the trauma we experienced at that age and my best friend has explicitly told my little that she doesn't have a biological brother) when our sister walked in. We switched so fast it gave me a migrane

I know you guys don't talk about your specific littles, but have you experienced a child alter growing up to an age where they are allowed on the channel? And not aged down?
So you mentioned that older alters can be formed at a very young age...How do they respond to having a younger body? Also how is the brain able to experience an older emotional state when the body is at such a young age?

i'm not sure how to explain this..i'm 22, my oldest alter is around 25 which has been present since i was 6.. when i ask questions she thinks then answer me ,i can see her thinking style and visuals but i may not fully understand what she meant until i reach older age to grasp the meaning..
just like someone explaining things to you ,you may or may not understand what it means but you can see inside their head vividly..make sense? 😅
idk about other system because i'm really newly diagnosed, for me I've always thought everyone are like that, having several 'you' inside your body.. but i realized that when i was 12 and been trying to push them away until i finally lost control..well, because i wasn't educated about this before..no wonder some of them are pissed.(;´∀`)

I have to say I am so glad I found your channel I've been with you for most of the year that you've been on RUclips and I can't thank you enough for all the education that you put out there. I honestly don't know if I would ever put together all of the signs that are now pointing me towards a diagnosis from my medical team and I'm 51 years old I've always been fascinated by dissociative identity disorder because I always sort of wondered why didn't it happen to me because everything was right for it to happen to me and the more research I did the more things started to surface and we're going through all of the medical things first seeing a neurologist and all of that but my medical doctor my psychiatrist and my therapist are all involved now and no matter what happens I want you to know that I would have never recognized any of these symptoms that I'm going through without people like you coming forward and educating and destigmatizing not only DID and OSDD but mental health in general as well so from the bottom of my heart thank you for everything you do. If you ever doubt that you make differences in people's lives because of what you do here don't.

I'm currently a undiagnosed system of me plus four current headmates. I've had headaches/migraines almost all my life but never thought about it being because of me switching/being influenced by my headmates. Years ago my headmate, Amelia, was influencing me so much for quite a long time. She didn't front, but it was kinda like she had fronted. I've had a lot of trauma in my life straight from birth. Thankfully I'm in a safe enough place in my life (and have been for a little while) to get to know my headmates and for them to start communicating with me. - B

I’ve had daily headaches for as long as I can remember, and I’ve never been diagnosed with a dissociative disorder, but I regularly dissociate and have ‘others’ that are very similar to alters. I’ve noticed that if some, more emotional ‘others’ are out for more than 5ish hours, they and me (‘the host’) get the excruciatingly painful headaches. If some, more logical ‘others’ are out, there are little to no headaches (the headaches still happen, they’re just not as painful). I don’t know if my headaches are related to or caused by an obviously undiagnosed condition (like DID) but I thought I would contribute :)

DID reminds me so much of my MDD(Maladaptive Daydreaming)! A lot of aspects, like disassociating, mind space and different ages and species are very similar to MDD. Even though I know the characters or Paras in my mind aren’t real, they feel real and the universes/Paracosms are all very close and dear to my heart. My daydreams are triggered by many things: music, tv shows, vines, movies and much more. The way that I “vent” out my daydreams is either pacing, jumping, or long car rides. I also tend to say some of the conversations out loud, which can be embarrassing, as well as getting caught pacing. Idk why but I always feel so uncomfortable or insecure whenever someone points it out. Also, fairly recently, something pretty stressful happened and I disassociated to the point where my brain basically put my personality, consciousness, everything, into my brain or Paracosm, ( not entirely sure what happened but it was odd) and then left the rest of me as a shell, walking around randomly, watching a video but not remembering much of whatever I watched. You don’t need to worry much about me, I wasn’t physically hurt or anything, it was just my family found out about a lil closeted stuff because of my close friend's parents and, even though they were understanding and loving, my stress levels were really bad. So basically just spent that entire day as a disassociated shell. Idk if that was a sign of something else, or if it was just my MDD going and being a coping mechanism, (which I will forever be grateful for) but the experience was new.
Also MDD is also believed to be caused by trauma but idk what kind of trauma I would even have..... I’m also forgetful and have some ADHD but I’m slowly beginning to wonder if my MDD could also be a part of DID. I’ll find out when I go to therapy, but until then, I’m not going to diagnose myself with anything other than what has already been confirmed.
