[Intro]
Oh, hey
Yeah-yeah-yeah
No-no-no-no-no-no
[Hook]
It's been too long and I'm lost without you
What am I gonna do?
Said I've been needing you (Said I'm needing you)
Wondering if you're the same and who's been with you
Is your heart still mine, I wanna cry sometimes
I miss you
[Verse 1]
Off to college, yes, you went away
Straight from high school, you up and left me
We were close friends, also lovers
Did everything for one another
Now you're gone and I'm lost without you here now
But I know I gotta live and make it somehow
Come back to me, can you feel me calling?
Hear me calling for you, for you, 'cause it's
[Hook]
It's been too long and I'm lost without you
What am I gonna do?
Said I've been needing you, wanting you
Wondering if you're the same and who's been with you
Is your heart still mine, I wanna cry sometimes (I miss you)
[Verse 2]
Now I'm sitting here, thinking 'bout you
And the days we used to share
It's driving me crazy, I don't know what to do
I'm just wondering if you still care
I don't wanna let you know that it's killing me
I know you got another life you gotta concentrate, baby
Come back to me, can you feel me calling?
Hear me calling for you, for you, 'cause it's
[Hook]
It's been too long and I'm lost without you
What am I gonna do?
Said I been needing you, wanting you
Wondering if you're the same and who's been with you
Is your heart still mine, I wanna cry sometimes
I miss you
It's been too long and I'm lost without you
What am I gonna do?
I've been needing you, wanting you
Wondering if you're the same and who's been with you
Is your heart still mine, I wanna cry sometimes, yeah
I miss you
[Bridge]
I-I-I-I-I-I, I-I-I-I-I-I (I miss you)
I-I-I-I-I, I-I-I-I-I
I can't be no more, no
Since you went away, I don't really feel like talking (No)
No one here to love me (No), baby, do you understand me?
I can't do a thing without you
[Hook]
It's been too long and I'm lost without you
Tell what I'm gonna do?
Said I've been needing you (Yeah), wanting you
Wondering if you're the same and who's been with you
Is your heart still mine, I wanna cry sometimes (Yeah)
I miss you (Baby)
It's been too long and I'm lost without you
What am I gonna do?
Said I've been needing you, wanting you
Wondering if you're the same and who's been with you
Is your heart still mine, I wanna cry sometimes
I miss you
It's been too long and I'm lost without you
What am I gonna do?
Said I've been needing you, wanting you
Wondering if you're the same and who's been with you
Is your heart still mine, I wanna cry sometimes
I miss you

Mee here tooo😢❤🌺🖤😍
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Yeah bro, this one here...
@@toddnotnilc1829 me
She from my hometown, I seen her emerge but that wicked industry destroyed a pure soul , 6 mile 4 ever , 7 mile to death 8 mile fuck enninem,
When Aaliyah starts softly singing over DMX's speech in the beginning of the song, it always chokes me up a little. To know that both of them are gone now stings even more. RIP to both. Rest easy in heaven.
I was about to comment how the video hits even harder with X gone early as well
🤲🏾 We miss you , RIP
😢🙌♥️
Facts tho 😢
Right damn they both gone 😢
R.I.P. Aaliyah and DMX. Hope they are kicking it together. This song holds a special place in my heart ❤️
NnnjinnA
I know Aaliyah and DMX they were like brother and I like when they were brother and I like they being together in movie Romeo must die
Amen! words are lost when you are still grieving. 20 years and I still cannot get over that she is not here. I remember it was a sunday when one of my friends run over and told me that Aaliyah was involved in an air crash...I miss you
😱
Mine as well. She truly is an Angel❤️
It's 2024. She died when I was almost 18. I'm 40 now and I'm sitting here still crying off of this video 😢. I never met her, I never went to any of her concerts, but she was my favorite artist when I was a teenager. And when she died I cried like my best friend died.
I feel u Till today i love her
Same. I just turned 41. I was 18 when she died. It was devastating
Same. I’m 40 too and never saw her as well. But she was my favorite. Rip Aaliyah.
I’m 24 now I grew up on her music because of my mother I still cry to this song and I swear when I die I want her to be the first person I meet in the afterlife
I’m 40, and when Aaliyah died I cried as if my sister was gone. She was special and I still listen to her music to this day.
Missy Elliott has said making this video was one of the most difficult things she has ever experienced in her career. From the moment she got on set and saw all the Aaliyah pictures, she broke down into tears. Kim also got emotional several times throughout the shoot that her make up kept getting messed up. Which is why she is wearing sunglasses throughout the video. DMX was so drunk and pilled up that it took him forever to film his opening speech. Aaliyah left a huge impact on so many people that she is missed and remembered to this day. R.I.P. the princess of R & B.
I hate to say this wouldn't be any surprising
Yeah, they all say that. Timberland also had the hardest time. They couldn't even get a good picture of him.
Ty
No he wasn’t .. there’s video of him getting emotional over the speech
So much so.. that the exact weekend that that accident happened .... Missy was suppose to perform at a show in Jamaica and couldn't do it...😔 I was attending and the impact and reality of what had happen ...was so devasting ...smh.
23 years ago, the world was shocked, but God welcomed you home. We miss you, baby girl
Aaliyah has been gone for as long as I've been alive... It's truly a long time ago
This, next to Selena’s “Dreaming of You”, is such a beautiful, touching ballad that can bring tears to your eyes.
they’re pretty much the perfect goodbye songs, its such a tragedy really.
Yes. Those songs remind me of each other. Both singers had such angelic voices. Except Selena had a wider range.
so true
@@melclibra as a selena fan i actually think aaliyah had a larger range, however as seen through live performances (sadly) selenas voice was stronger compared to aaliyah.
@@melclibra k😅&😅😅 &&9929p💘

My sister passed away last week when she was hit by a truck, she the reason I know about Aaliyah’s at a young age, I’ll miss her and Aaliyah RIP to both.
Sorry 😢
🫂
I am so sorry for your loss 😥
I'm so sorry 😢

im so sorry for your loss, I hope everything gets easier for you soon ❤️
Sorry for your loss ❤🙏🏾
We love you ❤ we care for you. My condolences

DMX has perfectly described how we all felt and still feel about her passing. Truly an angel on earth! Same goes with DMX. R.I.P. to both of them Aaliyah, DMX and also Static 🕊🙏🏼❤️
All Legends!
I think he knew something wasn’t right with her death because he never recovered after her passing she’s been dead 20 years and he was still going through it and still actively speaking about Aaliyah .. I miss them both
Amen
Yess the intro everything 😢 RIP Aaliyah DMX & Static Major🙏🏾🧡
@@OFFICIAL.LEWISVEVOno people need to stop saying that he was always on drugs unfortunately X was always X whether she’s here or not.

We are kindred, I never thought I'd see another fan of Wayne static and Aaliyah 👊😊
she did not die it was staged just lik tupac, she is natalie la rose today look it up

I miss Aaliyah & Left Eye a bunch, what special, lovely & talented people
This song still makes me cry. For all the people we love that we dearly miss.
Same here every time when I listen to this song I always cry it remind me of my father who passed away in 2015 because of brain cancer
Everytime even now, still can't believe she's gone.
Over here in tears trying to stop so miss her she was def 1 n a million
Yes 😢
I was just thinking of the song and I wasn’t ready for how hearing DMX speak to Aaliyah would bring up so much feelings I stuffed down.. it just hits different in 2023
This song is dedicated to my father who passed away from cancer today on March 14th is the day he went home to the Lord I love you Daddy and those who passed on who I grew up with I pray that you're with Jesus Christ
This one’s for your pops fam. Take care
❤😢❤
Sometimes I can't wrap my mind around the fact that her recording this song, she had no clue this would be her memorial song. Miss you Baby Girl 💜
When she died I cried hard like I had lost a close family member!! We miss you Beautiful! 🦋💖🦋
RIP Aaliyah, Static Major and DMX!! Man this hits different.
DMX headin towards Aaliyah's picture is heartbreaking
The world misses you both
Crazy sad
everybody is saying RIP to Aaliyah and DMX, but i feel like y’all can’t say RIP without acknowledging Static Major. he played a part in her life as well being on Loose Rap. one of my favorites off the Red album. may all 3 of them Rest in heaven.
He wrote most of her last album.
To correct you Static Major from the group Playa was not only under her label but he also wrote a majority of her songs along with Tank And Missy Elliott who also wrote and produced some of her biggest hits it’s sad that she never got to see her last album do as well as it did and I’m sure if she was alive that album would’ve been number one regardless and they would’ve given her the Grammys instead of giving it to Ashanti (oddly enough) because her album was way better than Ashanti’s who couldn’t even sing and hold a note to save her life at that time 🤦🏾♂️ Aaliyah was just at the peak of her career with a fresh new style image and sound and so many new elements she was experimenting with is displayed throughout the entire album which remains a classic! Babygirl is sorely missed and I wish Hype Williams greasy dirty ass didn’t take the plane that Lenny Kravitz sent to her and her crew and I wish that she didn’t decide to leave a day early and just been more patient instead of trying to overwork herself as always, I wish that they all wouldve been more wise about the serious safety conditions with all of the extra excessive equipment and bags being too overweight for that lil ass plane the unauthorized crackhead pilot, her being drugged and carried on the plane unconscious according to a witness who saw the accident go down, be serious when they were advised to not get on that plane she even had the gut feeling herself and called Dame Dash and said she was uncomfortable boarding the plane why not extend a hotel room to ensure a safe flight back home or even get on a boat to go back to Florida? why didn’t she just ride with Fatima and the other dancers? why wasn’t her parents uncle brother and Damon Dash Missy Timbaland Static there for this particular video shoot with “Rock The Boat”? The only video shoot that they actually didn’t attend but was at every other video shoot throughout her career, nothing about Aaliyahs murder ever made sense too many things was wrong that day there’s even a skull and bones in the shape of clouds right hand corner as she was walking to the camera in the beginning of the video which is scary Asf and there were clear warnings that went ignored I truly believe she was Setup to be murdered by a number of people in and out of the industry cause she was simply a triple threat and the best at what she did and was so sweet sincere and humble I have yet till this day heard anyone say anything negative about her except for that mess with R Kelly rapists pedophile ass this young beautiful talented woman would still be ruling the charts if better decisions were made her death could’ve been avoided frfr it’s not fair to us to Beyoncé Ashanti and few others went there after her death and shot their videos close to the crash site weird asf if you ask me but their labels made sure they made it back to the states safely I don’t respect her uncle because he plays a major role and was the one who chartered that lil ass plane from begin with I think her uncle Barry was bitter because she was about to leave Blackground records for Atlantic/Virgin Records which is major to have other big labels demanding for you to be on their roster clearly everyone knew she was the one she was our idol our music box and our inspiration and her death is still such a major loss to all of us the industry the fans and in the streets and idk if yaw noticed but there was a down period in music at that time too like artists wasn’t really motivated to make good music her death really affected the entire industry I still have trouble 20+ years later accepting I still cry cause I had just saw Aaliyah when she released her album at FYE in Harlem that July I cut school and everything and I couldn’t get in because they ran out of land yards to give to customers to have the album autographed and to take a picture with her funny thing is she noticed me and asked them to let me in but the store management and the security was being ridiculous and unrealistic i will always cherish the fact that I was acknowledged at the door she was true to her fans it’s just so sad R.I.P. Aaliyah DMX and Static Major 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Exactly 22 years on today since Aaliyah left us, her death is still felt and it still boggles the mind how her life was cut short, her legacy lives on.
Her life was cut short because of her own actions

In the truest simple honest words... still doesn't feel right mentally emotionally spirituality continuesly Gonna be realistic at the same time keep dearly optimistic of the possibilities cuz she will remain THAT ONE WHO GOT AWAY yet WILL ALWAYS BE in comparison to NONE OTHER

When I was 9 years old in 2004, my father left for the UK to attend a political conference as a one-man delegate for my country (Zambia). As always, I asked him to return with gifts when ge got back. The gifts came and so did he, except it was un a casket. They said foul-play was involved in his death. Just like that, my best friend and hero was gone. 20 years later, I am a 29 year old man taking care of the family

I will NEVER forget when news of her passing came out 🕊️💔🙏🏾 the summer (August) 2021 and I was 21 and had grew up listening to her since 15!!! That night I was over a friends house and ALL the young adults and older teens all came outside in our neighborhood and someone played her song in their car and we all listened and gave her a moment of silence 🙏🏾 and prayed, cried, hugged each other and talked about the good times with her music and she had just left Atlanta not long before her passing and Ryan Cameron told ppl to come out and meet her because it might be the last time she would be in Atlanta ❤️. Will also never forget when Tupac passed I was 16 (Sept 1996) and MANY ppl old and young ALL came together and said a prayer for him and talked about his legacy and impact on our community and will never forget I went to the Bellsouth phone book and saw his mother Afeni’s name in the phone book (she lived in Stone Mountain) and I know many ppl had to call her! Her number changed to private after that night! Certain ppls passing you just never forget where you were or doing and Aaliyah’s is definitely one of those moments 🕊️🙏🏾❤️
