The lyrics tell a lucid story of how treacherous some women and in deed a trusted lover could manifest with time. All that stuck in my head when my late dad played this with his gramophone in the sixties was "why why why Delilah". Now in my sixties, i now know the true import of this richly ageless tune

He is really feeling the words.Great writing, Great production. My Students are all good at nailing the notes with feel, but that wanting feel is the magic. There's a long, long history of folk songs about murder and passion. This was just one of the more recent ones. Neil Young's "Down by the River" was another. The lyrics are brilliantly done. Sparse, and strikingly direct, yet they paint a perfect visual and emotional picture. I expect that in our times, both songs will eventually be cancelled. We're so narrow in our understanding of the wellsprings of violence, we wish to shut it all away. The effect will be counterproductive.

But if you look at some of the comments here…that some sick people believe that Delilah’s murder was justification for her infidelity, then it is appropriate to cancel such songs. To promote such violence in a song ( even if only one person thought it was ok to kill on this basis), is WRONG

@@Karolinaanna80 Yes, but songs like this can influence people to be worse than they were or feel justified in their already harmful beliefs. Is it not better to minimise the impact of such songs? I absolutely love this song, but I understand why people may not like it broadcast and why Wales "banned" it. I put banned in quotations because people are still free to listen to it as they please, it has just been banned from being performed by choirs at international rugby matches at the Principality Stadium. I would hardly class that as the song being "cancelled", but rather people being more conscious about the type of messages they want to promote to such a large, impassioned audience.

Possibly the most gorgeous/beautiful girl on the planet, but not only on the outside. Delilahs are probably some of the best people you’ll ever meet, they’ve got a unique sense of humor, a never ending supply of confidence and are anything but shallow. Funny, beautiful and nice? What’s not to adore about them?
While they’re overall personality may seem aloof and loveable, they’re annoyingly independent, ambitious and have major goals and big dreams. And while Delilah can be a bit of a hot head, they’re fiercely loyal, to others, themselves and their goals.
They don’t seem too worried about love, since they know they could definitely pull just about any guy they want without even batting an eye, which just makes them even cooler.
Long story short, Delilah is probably one of the coolest people you’ll ever meet not to mention the funniest and most loving. If you ever meet a Delilah, don’t let them go!
