    Out of curiosity..... How long is summer ? How long is winter ? Does Japan get a lot of snow ? And, thank you very much for posting these videos. They are very nice (Japan is so clean and well taken care of).

    Almost no passengers on all the stations. Is it off-peak hours or the route is extremely unpopular?
    If latter is the case is it even worth to build the railway line here instead of just using a bus?

      It WAS worth it at the time it was built in the thirties when people relied on trains to travel.

      Why would there be? Tenryuu Hamanako and Enshyuu are unrelated operating companies. The freight services were discontinued 50 years ago, and there's no need for any connection for passenger traffic. You can see some removed switches along the track in other places.
