  • Dirk van der Kooij transforms used refrigerators into design furniture. For his Endless Flow chair, he won a Dutch design award and the prestigious DMY award in Berlin in 2011.
As a machine hacker, he managed to turn a 30 year old technique into a completely new way of fabricating plastic furniture, without the use of any moulds. A technique that is perfectly suited for recycled plastics.
Dirk van der Kooij works on many different concepts at the same time, not knowing if or when they will result in an actual product. He tries to come up with innovative functions that consequently dictate new forms.

    bravo Dirk! 21st century stuff.
PS: If you should find it difficult to find a word to describe a word for what you do ...like in 7:14...then I would call you a Maker....because that is the exact term introduced by the 3 D-community.
