Blake & Joe..! Huge Notre Dame fan here since 1984 and shout out to you guys from a military base here in Europe..! I My friends and I are listening to you guys now..! Awesome duo..! I will however leave you with this.. All 15 guys listening to this episode with me agree with you Blake about the role the players should take when it comes to motivation.. Joe.. that’s why Notre Dame hasn’t won a Nat’l Championship in forever..The players need to be dudes and men to take that next step and being self motivated without relying on the coach is a great first step
This video was surprisingly analysis-free. "These position groups are DAWGS." "Riley Leonard can't throw," and then a Socratic dialogue on the nature of motivation
Well Hartman isn’t here to throw 5 interceptions and go 0-6 so that’s definitely a plus! The nd dline has been suspect this year cross and mills are very average so far. Every loss nd suffers is because they lack the run stopping power. Blake very much agree with your point if these captains and players can’t get fired up then there’s something wrong with them. Freeman has shown he can have them ready for big time games we shall see.
Im by far no freeman or riley fan boy....but here my take of game....ND wins ...Louisville comes in slow...riley is gonna show out...dude wants revenge from duke and then the defense is gonna make them look usc last year 20-27 nd wins
Considering this video, how ND has been this season, how they played against UofL, and how Riley Leonard played UofL while at Duke is a no brainer when it comes to ND offense. Their Defense will keep them in the game. Looking forward to this matchup.
As a ND fan I can’t help but agree with Blake! Of course he’s biased against ND! But he’s a pretty honest guy. I honestly believe we need to make a coaching change because MF is soft with his players. You bring in Steve Angeli or Kenny Minchey and this team is completely different! Both guys are far superior passers than Leonard, and that will open up the run game vastly! Also: I think Blake and Joe are both right about players being motivated. The coaches have got to get on their asses if they’re slacking! But hey, why do captains have a C on the Jersey” those guys gotta rally the team and call out other players. If punches are thrown than so be it, probably for the best!
Last year we not only came in flat, the play calling was atrocious and Hartman was seeing ghosts. This year, we have a QB with the ability to throw off a defense with his legs. If he can hit the easy passes ND has no problem scoring more points than Louisville.
Looking like Caullin Lacy is going to come back from injury for Louisville. He came in as the #1 wr for Louisville and Notre Dame doesn't have any film on him from this year. If he comes back, Notre Dame will have their hands full.
Blake ended the argument about head coaches being the integral factor in motivating players by citing Nick Saban, who many consider the greatest coach ever, as the ultimate authority on what produces championship teams. Face it, Joe, you can’t argue against the Almighty Nick Saban. I recall no less than Notre Dame‘s Lou Holtz remarking about his playing days when after hearing his coach give a pep talk Lou would come on the field and get hit in the throat and forget everything the coach said.
ND LB corps is what u need to watch in this game. They’re talented but inexperienced (except for Kiser) so they still fall for the pre-snap ‘eye candy’. UL got a ton of chunk plays with the underneath crossers vs GT. If they can do that to ND, they’ll score enough points to win easily
Whether Louisville has great receivers or not, whether the Notre Dame secondary is great or not, the old maxim that the key to pass defense is to get to the quarterback remains true. You seem to be saying the Louisville offensive line is so-so, seems the ND defense should be to get to that quarterback. The real worry to me in the Freeman era (and even back with Kelly) is which ND team is going to show up, 😳. We played Ohio State great last year - til the very end of the game. But then we also I guess just didn’t prepare, just didn’t play, just didn’t care against several, well, you know who they are. Please get serious Coach Freeman! Go Irish.
Go ahead and keep thinking that the only motivation talk will be in the ND locker room!!! You think we're coming there looking for Rudy's autograph? Ok!
Louisville’s Dline is very good and very deep. They’re going to key off on stopping the run and make RL beat them in the air (which he can’t). Louisville by 10
Texas AM has a better run D and they had no problem running against them. I think the run d for Louisville is less of a factor than people believe. They should be able to run it on them.
@@thuvlegend9097 I don't think A&M has a better run D but I could be wrong. Regardless Louisville trust their Dline and will make it a point to force ND to throw the ball.
Keep in mind caulin lacy was louisvilles top reciver coming into the year. He will most likley come back for this game. This is without a doubt a top 15 reciving core with a healthy lacy
ND should win...by a lot. Revenge game, better talent, at home. But they won't. A feature of Freeman teams is to drop games they shouldn't to teams who dont read the press and just come at them. Less talented, more motivated teams looking for skins.
ND is not even in the top 50 stopping the run. Louisville is 18th. The ND QB is in for a LOOOONG night. Our QB is a lot better than you think. Brohm has kept the playbook very vanilla to this point. Cards by 10.
In fairness though Sankofa when you lose to NIU and they converted 4 third downs by running it right at you.... man... idk. this one might be a dog fight

@@samclark3370 I agree ND has an elite defense, but they have only played piss-poor offenses. I think certain teams could put up points against them. Louisville is the biggest test yet offensively
Joe, u are soft. ND lacks motivation because they have too many suburban kids that need motivation every 5 minutes. There are too many soft ass kids on the team. ND needs more intercity kids. Lou Holtz teams were loaded with intercity dogs. ND administration is the issue, not Marcus Freeman. Brian Kelly left because of recruiting restrictions. I think BK is trash. LSU has a team full of dogs that are making BK look good. Similar to Les Miles and Ed Orgeron.

Jeremiah Love needs at least 20 touches this week, and get away from the Riley Leonard show.

Blake you're right about what Saban said.
Last year we not only came in flat, the play calling was atrocious and Hartman was seeing ghosts.

To be fair he’s coming back off a broken collar bone no way unless the coaches don’t care about him which could be that he gets to play that much.
We get Lacy back too, which is our best receiver, add Bell and TE play. ND secondary isn't that good.
yes
We're gonna get curbed stomped 😮 let's go 🍀🏈. We ain't who we thought we were preseason.

Anytime you have a high-end defense (like ND has, their only letting up about 12 pts per game) you're in any game. Should be a good game.
