Have had this pedal for 5 years ongoing now, and it's been used for everything from guitar to bass to vocals, shoegaze to jazz to metalgrind, live and studio recording. So needless to say this thang has made many miles to hell and beyond and back again. And NOW I'm just discovering the amp/cab sims, holy fuck I hardly ever use my amp for recording anymore, AND plugging this pedal into my 500 watt bass rig + cabs (amp EQ bypassed) means I now have a tube amp-ish sounding power rig, and my god it's the cleanest chords ever. Thank you Zoom you never seem to run out of surprises ✨️
I got this processor as a back-up to my pedalboard to play at home. My pedalboard lay inside my bed ever since, I finally sold it this week to only keep this for practice at home.

The zoom is going though all this.... I'm a complete novice, so 'all of that' doesn't mean much to me lol. Is the zoom direct out an interface itself or do you need a separate interface? Thanks
Thanks for the review - very helpful. I have been a Zoom user since long: earlier Zoom PS02 and currently G1Xon. I am considering an upgrade to either G1X Four or G3Xn. Which one would you recommend in terms of ONLY the quality of the sounds? Thanks in advance!
The sounds on the G1 and G3 are nearly identical. The main differences are mostly with the features in each unit and the price for each model. Check out the video _'G1XFour vs. G3XN JCM800 Distortion'_ so you can hear what both units sound like in comparison to each other...
I still have my PS02 and use it regularly for practice. The only thing I'm not liking about the G series pedals is that you cannot program the drums. It will only allow to change the kit and adjust tempo. It's a huge step down considering the PS02, as old as it is, has programmable drum program. You can select the fills and patterns, piece them together to suit your needs and then set it by length of measures so the drums don't continue infinitely. G series you're stuck with what's there.
Works well with one observation - it seems more likely to make your guitar sound microphonic if you don't use headphone (output to an amp) - at least this is what I notice. I have some YT videos where I am upgrading various basses and playing into an Orange amp. Better pickups reduce this tendancy but without the aux in I don't notice issues.
No really recently no...I think it's been out for maybe around a year or so?!? But Zoom only recently sent us these...and I think there is some more stuff coming soon
Have to buy this for my bass... The GFX 707II was the best, bass FX really suck for tapping. The preamp is so necessary, I use only wah pedal and a delay. Check out my vid, 'You', for ambience in tunnels with bass, it sounds huge. Thanks to Zoom, and those new portable speakers for phones, like the Ibiza Sounds, solo bassists like myself can finally have a voice. Now if I can only get into a Chili Peppers concert with a sniper rifle, all my ambitions will have been achieved.
@@TSFAHTPS Oh what the heck, that completely changed the sound! That's crazy! So the reason they don't have those activated by default is because most people will plug it into an amp, and it wouldn't mix well with their own amp settings?
