Love these films. The number of people who can't comprehend this plot is pretty amazing. Snyder went out of his way to simplify the plot, story, and theme that I can't believe how much the american school system has failed at this point.

Rebel moon is offensively bad not only to space sci-fi but story telling as a whole. The idea your r rated version will fix this dumpster fire is a joke and not a funny one
@@kafukwamekemeh been thinking about that actually there are some made for tv movies and some B and C movies that are dumber no doubt (by a small margin). They where not sold to me as the new blockbusting franchise to dethrone star wars
When the two directors cuts come out, someone (who has a LOT more patience than me) should edit the two films together in a 2 n half hour movie. Theres at least a solid C or B movie in there that would at least be more enjoyable if you cut out the useless scenes, speed up some of the slo mo action sequences, and give it a solid narrative structure from start to finish. I don't even think including Nobles death in Part 1 was necessary for the story. His resurrection didnt really do much for the story in Part 2.
It will interesting to see the R-rated versions. I like Zack Snyder but those pg13 versions are woefully bad. I've seen stars wars, seven samurai and magnificent seven and Rebel moons depth story wise was as deep as a puddle. Also transferring the plot from fedual Japan and the wild west to a space opera made no sense. A galactic empire needs a small villages grain harvest. There was a way to make the story work in a Sci fi setting but the movie doesn't even try to make it credible. The seven heros are unmemorable. Apart from forced scenes of exposition between them we learn nothing about them. It was strange how bad it was.
You don't understand the basics of a marching military. The grain is for the army, not the empire. The supply chains are unsustainable, so the armies acquire the food from local sources. This has been how armies operated up until modern warfare. It's pretty basic stuff. Hopes this helps, but yeah. Super basic stuff.

The film could have portrayed the imperial soldiers as on the brink of starvation, cut off in the vastness of space from the nearest supply route. But the film does none of that. Hunger and desperation are powerful motivation for people to fight but from the two movies the imperial need for grain is not portrayed very well.

Let alone across the galaxy with even less percentage of stumbling upon land that can actually produce quality food for humans. You are better off to find energy -every- resources on Mars or Venus or Mercury or Pluto. If our science data isn't bollox ofc, but that's not Zack's fault.
