Moved to Rapid City last year and have been in a few of the caves. Heard about Bear Trap a while back but I don't really want to make the hour+ drive for such a small cave. This video will do fine for now. It's so hard to capture the pitch of a slope on video, especially underground.

Wow!! This adventure is dear to my heart!! Absolutely excellent. I really missed being there. I am very thankful for being able to see the cave through your eyes and not exposing the location. The smooth limestone rock is sea shells and skeletons from the sea that existed over the entire area. The cave rock is approx 350 million years old. Thank you so much Clay and Thomas. I was thrilled to just find it! Now I get to see all of it!!

So glad you got to see it Cathy! I know David really wanted to get down in there but we really didn't want him to get hurt. It wasn't easy. Thanks for the input on the rock type!

Time to set the record straight. Last June Cathy Labor and I were out looking for the cave and she was the one who ultimately found it. I had practically walked right past it on a number of occasions. Needed to give credit where credit is due.
