I tried not to be a meanie professor…I end up talking to a class of foreheads…all faces missing! …everyone’s looking down. It’s NOT less obvious if you keep your phone on your lap. Trying not to be a “meanie” and respectfully asking students to put away their phones doesn’t work. It really does make me sad. I really like connecting with my students…
